Stunning views from our sea view room and great location if you're doing the NC500 or generally touring the area. Double room was a good size and decent size bathroom with toiletries provided. Room very clean and good covid procedure with not cleaning your room by default if you're there for multiple nights. The hotel is traditional which means it definitely doesn't feel modern. I'm not saying it needs renovated but the vibe is definitely more OAP coach tour than young traveller if you get what I mean. As long as you set your expectations that ways it's fine. Very similar to other hotels in small Scottish towns and villages like this. The staff were all nice and helpful. Breakfast is a buffet, pretty decent selection. Machine coffee is horrible. Dinner is pretty standard pub grub and nothing to write home about so I'd check out other places in the area if you are here more than one night.

Booked this hotel in March this year, then with a week to go until our road trip I get an email to say they are cancelling our booking, this wasn’t a one off as another 2 in our group also had their booking cancelled, seems like they are purposely overbooking and then cancelling at the last minute, they did offer an alternative, (part of their group) over an hour and a half away and of a sub standard quality for the same price.

Dear Explore623602, would like to apologise, we are so short staffed, all staff are wearing multiple hats so much so that we will be closing and reducing our operation over the coming days. Tiredness is playing its part for all my staff . I wish there was an easy solution but recruitment no matter the position or salary is proving extremely difficult this year. we did start the relocation process with our third party company several weeks ago but it did take a while to get through to everyone affected.

Fantastic location overlooking the sea on the main road, this traditional hotel is extremely comfortable. We had a lovely overnight stay here. Great value for money, lovely evening meal (haggis was delicious) and good buffet breakfast. The staff were great and went out of their way to be helpful. Thank you for an excellent stay. Look forward to returning

My friends and I booked this hotel for the NC500, lovely hotel, welcoming reception, room was clean and inviting and it’s in a great location. However, their huge letdown, which unfortunately makes me not want to book again, was the dinner service! Seemed as though the waitressing staff didn’t know how to look after tables. Two waiters for one table and ordering food before drinks?? Not right, should only be one waitress per table so customers don’t feel overwhelmed. Seems like they’ve had the bare minimum of training. The waitress welcoming us to the restaurant was very rude, she called on our party and at first I did not hear her, then my boyfriend nudged me to let me know she’s calling, I turn around and I see her rolling her eyes, not appreciated AT ALL. Now when I arrived at the hotel to check in, I was given an envelope with the key and some information of the hotel, this stated that the hotel is very understaffed…really is not a good reason for terrible service, I myself have worked in a restaurant understaffed and I’ve still managed to keep customers happy and enjoy their evening, the service was not acceptable and needs looked at and resolved. The food was below average, wasn’t impressed. Otherwise the actual hotel itself was stunning, just a pity with dinner.

Dear heathersP4994zu, I am very sorry for the response you received from my team and I can assure you that I have spoken in depth to the senior team regarding customer service and correct procedures. . Tiredness is playing its part with all my staff and unfortunately service standards are dropping due to that. There is still no excuse for the drop in service standards. I wish there was an easy solution but recruitment no matter the position or salary is proving extremely difficult this year.

Booked this hotel in January for September road trip, had a message today to say they were cancelling our booking as they were over booked, offered us a below average hotel 1hr 20mins away?!!!!... Says alot about the running of the place.,Accommodation gets booked up on this route quickly. This could of ruined our holiday but thankfully after stressing out anther place has came to our rescue... Just be aware of the bad management of this hotel!
