Lyme Regis is full of wonderful restaurants & of course, has a lovely beach. We felt pampered at the Dorset House - the best breakfasts we have ever had anywhere! We felt really well looked after, a comfortable room & lovely bathroom. We'll definitely be staying again.

The trip was a rescheduled one due to Covid and we were not disappointed. Well worth the wait. Jason is a great host and Lyn’s breakfasts are amazing and very filling. Very accommodating with food intolerances and lovely to see an honesty bar which we used once and sat in the living area with our drinks. There is a lovely veranda for breakfast weather dependent, we were lucky to have had nice weather for the duration of our stay. Great location for the town centre, about an 8 min walk. Be prepared it’s hilly on the way back. There are two routes down into town but the nicest route was through the gardens down to the harbour area. On street parking was not a problem. Would definitely recommend.

Whilst trying to replace a covid cancelled trip to Sicily I came across a glowing review in the Telegraph for Dorset House and managed to grab the last available room for 5 nights at the end of August. The room we had was the Church View, classed as a standard room. It was compact but big enough for two and very clean and well decorated to our taste. Bed comfortable and bathroom well equipped with a lovely rain shower and lashings of hot water. Amenities provided were great with chilled water, choice of teas, ground coffee, biscuits and chocolate. Comfortable bed and great linen. From the point of booking Lyn and Jason were in constant communication advising on covid guidelines, local restaurants, walks, sight seeing and travel. Upon arrival (early) we were warmly greeted shown into the hotel for a welcome brief and then shown straight to our room much earlier than necessary but it meant we could unpack and park the car prior to heading to the town for lunch. A good night's sleep left us refreshed and ready to tackle what is definitely the highlight of the B&B - breakfast. Everything is freshly prepared from local produce with a really good choice of options each day. Never before have I tasted home made ice cream for breakfast but the amuse bouche we were given the first morning was delicious. Endless fresh coffee, home made cakes and pastries completed what was one of the best breakfasts I have had anywhere in the world. The snug with honesty bar made a great place to relax with a sun-downer prior to heading out for dinner. All the places we booked based on recommendations proved great. Jason was also ready with good advice on walks and places to visit during the day. In summary a tasteful, relaxing B&B run by a lovely couple supported by great a great team with a breakfast to die for.

We stayed for 5 nights in the Seaview room from 18 August 2021. The room has windows with views in two directions which makes for a very light room as well as great views. It is a beautifully furnished, tastefully decorated and comfortable room with a tremendous en suite bathroom. The Michelin star quality breakfast is amazing and so plentiful that lunch was unnecessary. Loved the drawing and dining rooms and the veranda. There’s enough great restaurants (such as Tom’s, Dom’s Table and Robin Wylde) in Lyme Regis that make the town a really enjoyable gastronomic experience. There are many superlatives one could use in describing Dorset House but the thing I would pick out is that the stay is about you and not so much about the great features that are offered. Jason is really helpful in suggesting trips and ideas for days out over breakfast dependent on the season and weather conditions which make for fulfilling and enjoyable days. Lyn and Jason are a great team focused on giving their guests a wonderful experience. My wife and I can’t praise them enough.

We were fortunate enough to get a cancellation last minute for two nights over the Bank Holiday weekend, and we had an amazing stay. Everything about it was just perfect, Lyn and Jason are amazing hosts and make you feel incredibly welcome from the minute you set foot inside. The rooms are contemporary, modern, finished to a very high standard and are impeccably clean. They have several little nice touches that you will really like. Whilst the rooms and general decor are stunning, it is the food that puts this B&B above all others. Lyn produces a bespoke menu every day that is personalised and presented to you every morning. You have four courses, and everything we had was delicious, and presented beautifully. The service is also incredibly attentive. I cannot recommend Dorset House highly enough, if you are lucky enough to find availability BOOK IT! You will not be disappointed. Keith & Brenda
