Pros: clean, comfortable bed, easy parking, friendly front desk, walk to shops and restaurants Cons: coffee maker and Keurig didn't work If you go late to breakfast you don't get much. Overall good value. Outdoor seating would be nice in summer

I have stayed at The Lodge on Route 66 several times over the last few years and have always enjoyed my stay. I recently had a reservation booked for 1/7/24, but as we approached William the state closed I-40 from both directions due to a snow storm leaving us unable to get to the motel. I called the motel and told them I couldn't get there and wanted to cancel my reservation to which they did cancel but told me it was their policy not to refund my money because I didn't cancel 24 hours prior to arrival. I think this was greedy of them since it was not my fault I couldn't get there or cancel 24 hours prior. I guess I won't be back.

I have no idea why other people rate this place highly or why the place claims it's "affordable luxury." We had numerous problems - including major safety issues. This was a "Queen Suite with Full Kitchen [with forks and knives, but no spoons]" including a queen bed, and sofa sleeper in the sitting area, and small dining table. The heater/ac unit was in the bedroom, which meant if anyone was using the one person sofa sleeper, they either went without heat or AC, or they had to use the gas fireplace for warmth. The problem with that? The foot of the bed (and sheets, etc) was only a few inches from the intense heat of the fireplace, creating a fire risk. The bathroom could only be accessed through the bedroom - and the bathroom pocket door was below the level of the new flooring, so incredibly difficult to open and close. The sofa partially blocked the bedroom door, impeding access, also a safety risk because the only way out in an emergency was through that partially blocked door. Other concerns: they left dirty linens on the sofa sleeper for us to use (and no spare clean ones), dirty bathroom floor, smelly sleeping bag instead of clean, warm blankets, and when we arrived, the side door to the small patio was unlocked! (Door also partially blocked by furniture).

Very small room, soft beds. Sheets worn/stained. A bit rude reception person. Breakfast moderate. Outside, a barbecue canopy for outdoor dining. Old Route 66 motel. Parking spaces in front of the rooms.

We have stayed at the Lodge a number of times when out in that area. The place is clean and breakfast not bad and it's a great location. But i have to say a new "issue" popped up which may not be just at the Lodge. We arrived prior to checkin - we did NOT ask for an early checkin but were told if our room was ready - a room that we did NOT request an early checkin for - and we wanted to checkin we would have to pay an additional $20. If the room was ready and available and it wasn't because we had requested early checkin WHY the extra charge for a room that was there and ready? What am I missing? Oh an fyi - when booking avoid a room with one bed - ask for a king or for two doubles/queens. the rooms with a single bed are VERY small!

While this may not be the luxury hotel you are after, it has everything you need. The bed was comfortable, the breakfast was enough to fill the belly. Service was wonderful and they are close for some photo opportunities. This is a good hotel for a quick pit stop on the road to exploring more of Arizona. We went on the train to Grand Canyon which was actually really fun and a great way to get to the Canyon and close to the hotel.

We were greeted at the reception by a lovely friendly lady and directed to our room. We parked directly outside and all rooms are ground floor. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable, in fact I had the best nights sleep on our trip thus far. The shower was powerful and certainly woke me up There was seating outside our room and in a central area within the car park but no one else sat out in the evening which was a shame There was no mini fridge which was a little surprising Breakfast was ok, not really geared up for healthy eaters.

I’ve selected this motel based on the reviews. Not so much because of the glowing comments but the lack of terrible ones. Check the reviews of the other hotel/motels around and you’ll understand. Williams is a place where you pay a huge premium for the location and every place here is expensive for what it offers. All that said, I’d liked the room. Small but very comfortable and extremely clean. The fact it’s a traditional Americana motel with park in front of your door and, most importantly, no second floor makes it very convenient and quiet (no upstairs neighbors!) . The front desk clerk was also very friendly at check-in. Now, there’s two things I’d like to point out on the negative side. The first one is the internet speed. It’s terrible. To the point of being hard to watch even a YouTube video. Not a huge deal but something to be aware of. The second point was a big letdown to me: No mini fridge in the room. Let’s start by stating the obvious. This is a standard even in cheap 50 bucks motels all over US, so paying 150 dollars in a room without one was disappointing, specially here, as it would be extremely useful to store drinks and sandwiches to be taken to full days at the Grand Canyon (it’s the main reason we’re all here, right?). It would be important for the food/drinks and even more essential to freeze the plastic ice packs to put in the cooler, as that’s what keeps it cool for the entire day. Although the room is small there’s a space under the sink that would be perfect for a mini fridge, so it’s hard to understand why there isn’t one.

Great place. Conveniently located in the middle of town. Everything is within walking distance. The staff was great and very helpful. Our room was spotless. And the patio with fireplaces and heaters is great. I plan on staying at the Lodge on Route 66 every time I'm in the area.

Cutely appointed, comfortable king suite. The heater worked wonderfully which was great as the night was cold. The suite had a living/kitchenette with hightop table, and a bedroom, bathroom. The toilet and tub/shower were in a separate room which is always nice. The sink area of the bathroom had a closet-like area. In the bedroom was a broad shelf to put luggage on, but there were also two luggage racks, Wow! Something most hotels/motels rarely have. The towels were nice. The soap was little disk, and the tubes of shampoo and lotion weren't high end, but I did not mind. I preferred the comfort of everything else. Speaking of, the bed was comfy, as were the pillows. There was a heavy blanket on the foot of the bed which we did not need. There were also extra pillows and a blanket in a living room cabinet. There was cable TV in the living area and bedroom. The wifi was nonexistent. Even so I would rate the place a 5. There was free breakfast which we did not use. The office area was cute as can be. The center of the parking area had a great patio, which we did not use due to the temperature.
