ew thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Sedona Rouge, way back before it because a Wyndham property and before COVID. The room was more than adequate, the size and layout of the hotel are excellent, the pool area very nice. We had several drink time's at Red's, and a couple of meals. Food was good, place nicely decorated.
Several months ago we booked a week in May to celebrate our anniversary. The last day to cancel without a fee was 4pm on 5/7/21. At 3pm on 5/7/21, I get an email from the hotel saying they will be doing renovations the week we reserved and the pool, spa, and restaurant would be closed. I didn't see the email in time to cancel without a fee, so I ended up being charged for the first night when I cancelled. So far, I have sent 3 emails and left a voicemail requesting a reimbursement, and nobody will reply. This is clearly a shady move, and their customer service is appalling. RUN AWAY!
The server at the Red's Bar and Grill was very rude. My wife, daughter, and I went to have breakfast on 5/15/21, first, we had to seat ourselves, then the gentlemen didn't even come to offer us water once we sat down. We waited about 10-15 minutes before he came to us and told me and my wife that we probably wouldn't get our food for about 90 minutes, then suggested we go somewhere else to eat if we wanted our food faster. I would not return to eat there again after being completely humiliated by this server.
We stayed here in May 2021 for five nights. The beds are really comfortable! The restaurant was nice, a bit pricey but comparable to other fine dining in Sedona. They were doing construction during our visit, which was disappointing because the Spa was closed, but they offered in-room massages. I can imagine how lovely it'll be when it's finished! Overall I had a great stay and would recommend.
I chose Sedona Rouge because of the on-site spa, and it's location. A few weeks prior to our arrival, I received an e-mail from Sedona Rouge stating that there is an ongoing renovation and "there will be some construction noise". An apt description of what is occurring at Sedona Rouge is an active construction site - jackhammers, grinding, hammering, large trucks and machinery all around the site from 0800-1600. When the dumpsters are full of rubble and debris, they have them picked up and replaced at 0630! If I knew then what I know now, I would have selected another place to stay. The only redeemable part of our stay were the 3 gentlemen at Reds. Tim, Kevin, and the gentleman behind the bar (sorry I did not get his name) are wonderful. They always made us feel welcome. The…
