Friendly front desk service and valet too. Most of my time for my one night stay was spent at the fabulous and relaxing pool. Lots of chairs and umbrellas plus they provide beach towels for the guests. The fitness center is located on the same level and you can refill your water bottles and use the rest rooms. Food at the restaurants was just ok but the service was fast and friendly. Quick drive from the Phoenix Airport.
Let me begin by saying the front desk staff is very good and service oriented but there isn’t much I can say that’s good otherwise. When I was dropped off at the hotel entrance, the bellman rudely told me I couldn’t leave my bags there. Umm, I’m just checking in dude. Where am I supposed to put my bags if not at the entrance. I thought the food was pretty good on-site at the hotel restaurant which prompted me to order the same dishes for breakfast and lunch the following day. The day two meals were just not good. For example if I order a side order of bacon I don’t expect it to literally come out cold. Not room temp. Cold! The room was ok but none of the four outlets in my bathroom worked and the fan for heat/AC blows right into you as you lay in bed. The shower features two temps: “too cold for a penguin” or “hot enough to steam mussels”. I felt like Goldilocks as I just couldn’t get it right. If you have kids, there is a pool. Decent size. If you don’t have kids but want to hang out poolside with lots of screaming kids please check out the pool. I don’t mean to sound so negative but I’ve been a Marriott Platinum level rewards guest for many years and this hotel was not up to par. There are better places to stay in the Scottsdale area.…
My wife and I spent four days at this hotel. The manager Jason is an outstanding person and he took very good care of us when housekeeping dropped the ball at the beginning of our stay. The hotel has nice views, the rooms are spacious and comfortable. The hotel is due for an upgrade, but it is still nice. The hotel is kind of pricey in the spring, but hotel prices have really shot up everywhere.
Stayed here for a corporate event and extended my stay after. The food was above average for massive catered buffets and the service was terrific throughout the week. I loved the huge patio to catch some sun while grabbing breakfast in the morning or sneaking out for an afternoon break. Pool was great and not too crowded on weekends. Only taking off a star because you have to call daily for housekeeping and many days the room still wasn’t serviced by 6pm. I would skip or just ask for clean towels out of frustration. My favorite part had to be the shuttle guys- they transported us back and forth all week and were super friendly and prompt- better than Uber!!
Hotel is beautiful, a bit in older side but elegant and has a mystique vibe. Pool was pleasant but there were jets flying above every 25-30 minutes. Rooms were spacious and luxurious, internet connection in the mountains isn’t the best but didn’t affect our stay.
Do not expect to be shown the courtesy of a quiet place to sleep. This hotel hosts sales groups with loud outdoor bands until 10 at night, in the middle of the week, under your hotel window. Too bad if you had an early morning. Too bad if tomorrow is another early work call. Apparently, individual room rentals aren’t important. And don’t expect the staff to be nice about it. They’ll just hang up on you when you ask, politely, if it’s possible for the band to turn it down a little. Too bad. Otherwise, a nice hotel.
Being a long time Marriott Lifetime Platinum member I have to report that this property was lacking in many ways.It is billed as a resort but the atmosphere is dramatically lacking. 1st of all my compliments to 90% of the staff from front desk to behind the bar.Seems due to covid the entire staff seemed to be be newly hired with little knowledge of the area and also serving guests food and drinks. Also short staffed. As stated they were very pleasant. Food service only in the bar area was mediocre. Pool area had not one server for food or beverage as guests waited impatient and had to figure this out on there own.No signage, no employees nothing. Patio overseeing the pool had no service.Pool was very cold. No concierge service for any local recommendations. Room I received was a nice upgrade suite but bathroom was dated. Never any maid service in 3 days and 1 bar of soap. One elevator area for the entire hotel. It is a little outdated as many reviews have stated going back 3 years and no updates. For the price it was definitely not memorable..…
Severely dated property. As an Ambassador I feel like Marriott maintains most properties at a sufficient level. I have stayed here three times since 2009. In 2009 it was dated and in need of resort. In 2022, I cant believe Marriott allows them to carry the brand. And if you like quiet, this isn’t the place for you. The Scottsdale airport is virtually connected to the property. Planes fly over the property from 4:30am to 1:00am everyday. It’s like the planes are landing on the roof all day. Hate to leave a poor review but it is what it is. You have been warned.
The hotel sits right by an executive airport. So you’d better enjoy the constant sound of planes overhead on final approach, morning till night. The hotel is quite dated it could certainly be nicer with better care and maintenance. The pools was freezing cold and they don’t bother to turn on patio lanterns or the terrace fire pit- which would certainly enhance the ambiance. Rooms are suites but many don’t have balconies. If you can swing a stay at the higher priced JW Marriott Camelback- I’d say go for it!
We are not golfers; however, we loved our stay at this hotel. The views were gorgeous and the service was very good. That is hard to find during the pandemic, or I have found that to be the case. Applause to you and your team.
