We were quite pleased with the quality and cleanliness of the room and other facilities. The staff was friendly and accommodating, Each time we needed additional coffee k-cups, the front desk was happy to hand some over, which these early-morning risers appreciated. The outdoor pool and hot tub was a delightful addition! Super-convenient location (right off the 101).
This seemed like a higher-caliber hotel given the rates but it was lacking in many respects. Nice, attractive, clean grounds and lobby/public areas. Room was clean but showing wear/lack of maintenance. There was an awful smell in the lobby both times we stayed here, about a week apart. We stayed in many different mid-range hotels over the course of this trip and these beds were very uncomfortable compared to the others. Courteous staff but response regarding what should have been a minor, fixable problem was lacking. Close to numerous food outlets and other destinations, which was the attraction for us. Convenient to major highway.
Wow this hotel is beautiful! Everything was a great experience from check in to check out. Great location, close to many places to eat. The rain tree cafe was closed the night we checked in and we are out for breakfast so I cannot comment on that. The room was perfect, clean and in good condition. I wish we could have stayed more than one night! Everyone was so friendly too!
We stayed for a week at the hotel. We had been at this hotel in 2016, so we could make a comparison to how it was previously. Unfortunately, we easily noticed how much it has gone down since then. First of all, covid rules seem to not be enforced at all in the hotel. None of the employees at the front desk ever wears a mask. Same for the very few employees cleaning the rooms that we saw on the hallways. Guests are also allowed to be everywhere (lobby, elevators, and hallways) without any mouth and nose protection at all. Besides not following covid rules, the personnel is very impolite. We encountered a person from the front desk smoking at the main entrance several times. The attitude of the personnel is always with a lack of responsiveness and customer service. No "good mornings" or "good evenings" only a "hey" here and there, as if we were at a convenience store. Every time we approached them for a question or a request it was a painful experience where they were clearly making a huge effort. It seems that Holiday Inn has engaged a personnel with a complete lack of hospitality skills and respect for the hotel guests. The rooms are not cleaned everyday, there is only a light service to change towels upon request. The rooms are a bit old, the carpets have stains, furniture is not at the best standard. All in all, a pity that a hotel cannot offer its services in the best of standards. A complete disappointment! We suggest you consider any other option (ie. Hilton Garden Inn or Marriott) if you spend a few days in Scottsdale.…
We stayed at Holiday Inn & Suites Scottsdale North - Airpark for 2 nights (Th & F) in a 2 Room King Suite Balcony & paid $392.88 incl all fees/taxes. As a Spire Elite member, I respectfully requested early check-in & a quiet room on the top floor. ARRIVAL/CHECK-IN: We arrived around 2:30 PM; check-in took approximately 5 minutes. We were assigned room #304. I wish we had been assigned the 4th, but no biggie. ROOM • Amenities: Keurig, microwave, mini fridge (even on the highest setting, it has trouble keeping drinks cold) • Bath: Large tub, plenty of hot water, good pressure. We had to ask housekeeping for a bar of soap to wash our hands (they were running low & not stocking it in rooms). • Bed: King-sized, very comfortable. The duvet appeared too small & kept falling out of the cover. • Cleanliness: Very clean, minus what looked like Kool-Aid(?) stains on the walls. • Decor: Standard • Heating/cooling: A/C worked, but dreadfully loud. And around 11:00 PM the first night the heat kicked on & a burning smell filled our room. It was pretty overwhelming. Maintenance said the heat kicking on was likely a glitch & the smell was from dust since the heaters are rarely used. • Sound: Not good. A lot of thuds & kids running/yelling on the second night. You can hear traffic, but it's not too bothersome. And as mentioned above, the A/C unit was loud. • TV: Standard • View: Limited, mostly buildings (mountains in the far, far distance) • WiFi: Didn't use COVID-19 precautions: Plexiglass at the front desk & limited services; however, guests & staff do not wear masks. CUSTOMER SERVICE: Standard DINING/FOOD: Restaurant & bar closed; we did not partake in the complimentary to-go breakfast. HOUSEKEEPING: Light services only (towels & trash); must request in advance. LOCATION/PARKING: Nice area, free parking. OTHER ACTIVITIES: Pool & hot tub were nice, but the lovely waterfall feature in photos was turned off, no towels provided, & the bottom of the pool needs sweeped. Would I recommend/stay again? Yes, but we'd stay in a standard King room. The second "sitting room" & balcony with limited view went unused.…
We spent three days at this hotel. It's very close to 101 and close to lots of restaurants and malls. Our room was spacious, clean and well-maintained. The bed was very comfortable and we both slept great! The pool area is well maintained and we spent a lot of time there. The staff was great, especially Jonathan O at the front desk. We would definitely stay here again.
This is a quiet location with easy access to dining and the reason for our visit to Westworld Sun Circuit horse show. We were within 5 minutes of breakfast (Butters) and Westworld. Hotel room was large and the air-conditioner/heater was not too noisy. The room has a living area as well as bedroom area. Also has a mini frog and small Keurig coffee machine. The only negative is the bathroom is pretty small. The bed was adequate. The room was also quiet. We could not hear anything outside of the room.
The service at the front desk when we checked in very late was excellent. The room was clean and the bed we quickly climbed into was very comfortable. The next morning went for breakfast and although service was not great due to low staffing and food was okay but pricey. Back to room to get organized and WiFi was good but TV not working properly. Called desk and got service quickly who tried a few things and got it to work properly. Before leaving noted that if problems return call and he would bring a replacement TV. Next morning got their bag breakfast to go which was not only good but an extremely good value. Did not eat other meals there. Shuttle driver was pleasant and courteous. Title reflects overall evaluation because of cost.
HI just finished a stay and it was terrible. The air conditioner kept me up all night long as it was so loud turning on and off constantly. You even had to adjust the tv level every time this happened as well. Because I didn't get any sleep at night, I tried to take a nap during the day and actually had to put on my noice cancelling headphones on because you can hear EVERYTHING that goes on. Voice, water turning on, toilets flushing, shower going in all of the rooms around you. There was also mold on my shower curtain. There was an automated text asking me to rank my stay on a scale of 1-10, I left a low number and didn't get response. What's the point of doing that then? Also, nothing for breakfast. At least do a cheap continental breakfast for the price of the rooms! An old, noisy building, no breakfast, outdated and moldy items in the room- the price they ask for these rooms is ridiculous. I even came on a timeshare thing. My room was free and it still angered me! There is no way I would ever think of doing a timeshare after this experience, much less stay here ever again.…
I have stayed at this property before as it was always well-run, clean, and is conveniently located to my business needs. But, this stay was different. The level of service has decreased to the point that even at check in, I did not feel like a valued guest. And, forget about ordering room service or perusing a lunch or dinner menu in your room. They have stupidly removed all the paper menus and now direct you to an app that does not (did not) work. Really? Why make it more difficult for your customers? In addition, the restaurant was so poorly staffed during my stay that when I went down one morning for breakfast, there was just 1 person working the entire restaurant/lounge area. I waited 15 minutes and was never even brought a menu, a cup of coffee etc. Finally poured myself a cup of coffee and left. My room was spacious but not as fresh and clean as I expected. The decor in the room was sparse, dated, dingy and old. The place is showing its age and maybe has undergone a management change, I don't know but something was off. And all this for $300/night! So, bottom line for me is this, look around and consider your options. this will be my last stay at this place I think.…
