We weren't impressed with the size of the "loft." It really just the same size as a hotel room, and in some cases smaller. The water took forever to heat up for showers causing a large waste of water during a drought. The pool really was its only saving grace, and even that wasn't too exciting.
Nice resort with a large pool and two large hot tubs. One of the tubs was more private and separated from the main pool area and was geared more for adults at the resort. Peaceful! We had a 2-bedroom lock-off that was roomy and well laid out. Large exercise room with modern equipment. Would definitely consider staying there again. The only issue we had was the $200+ weekly charge for amenities.
Staff was responsive, courteous and great. Resort fee excessive when activities are limited and need updating, pool restaurant/bar was closed one day because staffing issues, etc. Plenty of restaurants and golf in the area, but most close by 7-8pm.
The room we had was ok, not remodeled yet, but not too dated. 1 bedroom is a decent size and it was clean. No elevators and 3 floors, we had to stay on the main floor due to this and it was noisy by the people on top as usual. Resort fees were over 200 for the week which is absolutely unacceptable and actually disgusting. If Hilton wants to attract not buyers, this is not going to work. We were looking to buy another week in a timeshare but would never consider any property that rips people off on these outrageous resort fees. The sooner the government makes these illegal, the better. In a way, this is legalized theft. Did not use any of the facilities. Location is too far away from where we usually stay, a long drive on the loop to Mesa ot just about anywhere else. Would not consider staying again with the fees as is, even the front desk staff agreed they were way too high. Choose somewhere else.…
We have been timeshare owners for more than 20 years, originally with Monarch who was purchased by Diamond who has now been purchased by Hilton. I booked this room, a studio through Diamond Resorts. The resort is pretty tired, furniture, cabinets, paint on the roof peeling away in the AZ sun. Most frustrating is the fact that some valuables were left in the room, and had to have been discovered by housekeeping, however "no, they didn't find anything in the room", Just be sure you pack everything becuase it is not likely they will have it for you if you ask... Also, it took two weeks of calls to get a return call that "nothing was found".
I so appreciate the hardworking staff at Villa Marage, the entire property is superbly kept in order, the atmosphere favors young and senior YOUNG - I utilize this resort for work - I love coming 'home'!
The pool and grill are the highlight of our stay. Lots of room, good seating and the grill is right at the pool. The beds are not very comfortable, stiff mattresses, the comforter is cheap and seems old. The studios are nice- a bit squishy, but comfortable for two.
Nice rooms, nice property, and very friendly staff. Everything was very clean. One small disappointment was the on site bar closed at 7pm (On a Friday night!) Our room was also missing the TV remote and there was apparently no way to turn on the ceiling fan. (A second missing remote?)
Overall it was a very good experience. The only thing was that the pool area was unusually packed. I would have liked a room with a bath tub but, I did not specify so that was on me. If you have a chance to stay you should. The staff was great.
The resort is tired, the management and staff are not attentive (suggest lack of suitable training), housekeeping is poor. There is no restaurant on-site. DO not approach from the East as you may not find it (especially at night)
