Where to start...the bottom line is that THIS property is not a PREMIUM property. The service level is sub-par. I asked for water at the "bar" and the response was the server would get to me after they cleaned up. I watched them clean and clean...no water. I went to the front desk and shared the situation and was told, "Go to Starbucks." Seriously? I asked for the room to be serviced and when it wasn't, I was told, "It wasn't serviced because it was serviced yesterday," The written housekeeping statement says rooms will be serviced on request. Guess not. This is a 2-diamond property masquerading as a "premium". It is not.

The Renaissance Phoenix Downtown Hotel entire staff treated me with the courtesy and attention you expect from a fine hotel. The Renaissance Phoenix Downtown Hotel staff at the hotel is warm, courteous, and always helpful. The food and drinks provided throughout the day in the club lounge were plentiful and delicious. The room was also very clean and spacious. A special 'Thank you' to Kylie, Naima, Christina, Katrice, Dru, Ethan, Andrea, Madison & Lalli for your true professionalism and great conversation. I would like to also send a special Thank You to the #1 Valet Team – Ky. Michael, Tre, Deangelo, Gennefer, Cortez & Abei! Thank you, guys, for cheering me on as I power walked up and down the blocks in my Sauna Suit in 115 degrees weather. Please share this note with your management. Lifetime Titanium Member

I loved this hotel from check-in to check-out. The staff was amazing, even left us a happy anniversary gift in our room upon arrival! The food at the Dust Cutter was excellent. Every time we ate somewhere outside of the hotel we wished we had just stayed in. The hotel was spotless at every turn and beautifully decorated. Only reason I gave 4 instead of five is the elevate lounge was closed on the weekends. The breakfast in the restaurant more than made up for the lounge breakfast (blueberry pancakes were fantastic) , but I would have liked to at least have been able to go grab stuff from the coolers throughout the day. On Sunday they said they were open for dinner, but there was actually no dinner just a cheese plate and some monkey bread. I was there in 2019 and thought the dinner they offered in the lounge was delicious, so missed that. Bottom line this hotel is enough to make me want to come back to Phoenix, even with the burning heat. I don’t think I would attempt to stay anywhere else!

As always we had a wonderful stay at the Renaissance for my 50th Birthday. Ramone from Maintenance was wonderful along with the rest of the staff. Super clean rooms and a nice lobby lounge with live music on the weekends.

I participated in a weeklong conference held at the Renaissance Phoenix Downtown. I stayed at the hotel over the period of the conference. Staff members were consistently friendly and attentive. The rooms were clean, well-appointed, and quiet. The conference facilities were well kept and the catering great.

Stayed 2 nights for business. Check in was friendly but slow and haphazard.....perhaps training, however constant back and forth to clarify things. After an 11 hour flight it could have been better. Lobby area is bright, spacious and with a nice vibe and bar area. Room was well appointed, probably refurbished but dark. The bedroom door had a huge gap at the bottom that I blocked each night with a towel....not great. Room was clean and I got sent some Marriott gifts due to my membership status, which was unexpected. Room was not cleaned on second day and when I asked I was told "housekeeping are piloting a new system but if you need clean towels or anything else just ask, as they have all gone home", which seemed weird and difficult to accept to be honest. This was 4pm..... Gym is decent and clean. Pool area old, small and a little tired. Breakfast was OK at Dust Cutter. Staff seemed unhappy. Dinner was much better, in terms of quality and staff happiness. The downtown area is a bit of a mess with construction and I would probably look to stay closer to Biltmore next time. In summary an ok stay somewhat spoiled by lack of room cleaning and some staff challenges. As a Marriott Bonvoy member who travels the world I think this place could do better.

We stayed in this hotel for 4 nights. We arrived around 8 p.m. on May 7, 2022. The lady at the front desk was very sweet and helpful. After a very long trip, she was quick getting us to our room. We are a titanium Marriott member, due to we arrived on Saturday night and the concierge is not open until Sunday afternoon at 3 p.m., she gave us a breakfast voucher for breakfast at the lobby restaurant. The room itself is nothing special, no microwave in the room, but there is a small refrigerator. Staff overall are friendly, concierge breakfast was good.

We got upgraded to a studio suite on the fifth floor. This is important because that's the floor that the pool is on. Our room had a sliding door out to a large deck by the pool. It had many groupings of chairs for lounging. That was a bonus as well as having a larger room. The main portions of the hotel are appointed very nicely. Our room was in good shape as well. One minor concern was how dark the room was. There were no ceiling lights and the room was murky unless you opened the curtains to the slider. But all things considered, this was a nice day at a nice hotel. We were able to access the Elevate lounge on the concierge level. For a while, these lounges weren't open but now this one is open for breakfast only. The rest of the day, it's open but no food is available, although there is a refrigerator with soft drinks, water and juice. Two things worth noting are that the downtown Phoenix area is in complete disarray. Streets are either closed or narrowed to one lane which made getting there a big issue. Also, there is no parking for the hotel other than valet parking. And that's $35 a day.

The hotel lobby is beautiful and the room is very nice although a little small - I guess because it's in the heart of downtown Phoenix. However, when we first got into our room, we found that the bathtub/shower had hair in it, so obviously, it wasn't cleaned well. We immediately called the front desk and asked them to clean it. Two staff members came up within a few minutes (which was good), but they were speaking in such a way that they sounded angry (which wasn't so good). We couldn't tell whether they were angry that they had to deal with this, or angry that a coworker did a poor job. But either way, it's not professional. I expect more than that from a Renaissance Hotel (clean bathroom, and professionalism from all staff) and feel that they should deliver a 5-rating level of service. Other than that, everything else was nice and front desk/valet were pleasant - the Dust Cutter restaurant downstairs had a very good breakfast though not complementary, and beware, parking is not free at $35 per day. And walkable distance to a number of things in town.

This hotel is nice, good location, and very comfortable. It was particularly busy/crowded when I was there, but even still not too bad with the noise. The lobby is large, and there is a nice bar, restaurant, and starbucks that you can enjoy. I would stay here again.
