Old-fashioned and old in all. buildings, furniture. Bathroom equipment is new, but the sewage system is old. 1 washing and drying machine for the facility. No inside territory, you walk by balconies to get to other places. Or you need to get outside of buildings go get to the reception. Nice outside backyard but you can’t enjoy it in summer, no mist, no fans there. Good golf carts service. Several restaurants around. One little bar at reception - can’t accommodate all people in the evening. Pools are small, always packed. Kids enjoyed water park. We got non-smoking room, unbearably stinky. Changed it only next day.

Hotel's Favourite
My family of myself, husband, and two daughters (12 & 13) stayed for three nights at the end of August. We had a room with two queens (standard, not deluxe) C160. The Oasis Waterpark was very a very close walk and the Camelback pool was right outside our door. It was great! There was zero view out on the back patio, literally looking up at cars parked in the parking lot, but we were not there for the view and appreciated the much better room rate. The area around the Camelback pool more than made up for the lack of any view from the patio. Not to mention, no noise! I don’t know if the walls are made of concrete or what but we heard zero noise from the guests next door, from the pool, or from the parking lot. Despite the summer heat (114 degrees), the room was nice and cool. It has the beds and tv in one room with the bathroom and vanity (apart from shower and toilet), and a sitting room with small minibar, table and chairs, and chairs and pullout couch with tv. We really liked this set up! The Camelback pool was practically empty when the waterpark was open and not too crowded otherwise (pool open 6am to 10pm). The Oasis Waterpark was a lot of fun. It might be a stretch to call it a “waterpark” but it does have two killer slides, a more modest slide, a lazy river, a wave pool, and a regular pool. It was fairly crowded. Don’t go expecting to have all kinds of Covid safety and then complain - it’s a waterpark and people do get near you and don’t have on masks since they are mostly in the water. But everyone was pretty chill. The employees (even life guards) do wear masks. They were super polite and friendly. Saturday was the most crowded, with the Friday and Sunday crowds being much lighter. Best day to go would be mid-week if you want to avoid people. Food ridiculously expensive. Just leave and go back as there were plenty of chairs and umbrellas and towels everywhere. The waterpark hours are reduced during Covid but we’re plenty for us. Parking is free but hard to find during waterpark hours. We really had a great experience here. It is an older place but it was clean and the room size was fantastic. If you are like us and can get a great rate, and save money by eating off site, it is a great deal! We would definitely go back and definitely recommend it.

So disappointed! The actual building exterior, hotel rooms and restaurants looked so dated and run down compared to photos online. Amazing photos but different in person. My family traveled 1,800 miles for our first west coast vacation and within seconds knew we couldn’t do this for six nights. Management was very kind and refunded us.

We were extremely disappointed with the AZ Grand!! We booked a Villa Suite as part of a reserved block of rooms back in March. Two (2) weeks ago I was sent an email by AZ Grand and was told that AZ Grand had made a mistake and they would not honor the room I had booked at the rate I had booked. They automatically moved me to a regular king bedroom. When I responded to the email of this notification, I was told that they were sorry for the error, but basically there was nothing that could be done. A reputable hotel would have honored the booked reservation & rate since it was their mistake. At a minimum we should have been offered an upgraded room or some other type of compensation for their mistake. But AZ Grand did absolutely nothing!! We originally had considered holding our daughter's wedding at the AZ Grand, but I had concerns about the condition of the property grounds and the available venue locations on site, so we chose another wedding venue. I am so glad we did not choose AZ Grand for our daughter's wedding. I would have been so embarrassed by the condition of the property and the incompetence of the reservation staff. We travel regularly throughout the world, spending at least 50-60 nights a year in hotels. Never have I encountered a hotel not owning up to their own, admitted mistake in the reservation, and still not honoring the booked price. I will never stay at the AZ Grand again and I will never recommend the resort to anyone I know. I will tell them exactly how we were treated. In addition, they have 1 restaurant at this huge hotel. We spent $60+ for a kids hotdog meal and an adult burger plus 2 sodas. Ridiculous! There are not vending machines even to buy a water, we were told you'd have to buy some from the check-in desk folks. But the line for the check-in was always around a 30-40 minute wait, so we couldn't even buy a water bottle. There may have been food at the waterpark to purchase, but it was so crowded, that we didn't even bother going.

The room is well appointed in outlets and switches, and was roomy! The towels in the room could stand to be larger and the air filters hadn’t been changed in months though the room was still very cool and the AC was great! The bed though, ugh, way too old and soft, it had seen better days, the sheets were too short on the bed the way housekeeping made them - some of us can’t sleep with tucked sheets! The property overall is nice though very spread out with minimal signage. The fitness center is top notch, loved that and was sorry I never used the pool there. Water should be more readily available on property and the golf shop (or beer cooler) should be open later in the day to take cans to go. Very Limited vegan options on property.

Decided to book for a family stay cation. Resort definitely needs a little upgrade Bathroom had mold on walls. Curtains where torn and stained. Called front desk twice because a/c was not working. They finally came second day. Still didn't work well. Super hot all night. Both bed mattress had dips. All furnishings are outdated. Not worth the 900$ spent for two days. The only good thing I could say is the employees and water park. Should have just saved my money and got a day water park pass. Rooms are horrible.

Rarely do I stumble with where to start for a review but I’ll start here: they lost our reservation and I still don’t have a single negative thing to say! I unfortunately/fortunately had a friend’s timeshare to stay in elsewhere however we rented a cabana at the waterpark for the day and it was a fabulous experience and one if the highlights of my vacation. When I arrived they unfortunately couldn’t find my reservation anywhere so the Island Cabana I originally booked wasn’t available. Within a few minutes the manager had me set at a comparable cabana, crisis diverted. (All I cares about was not being by the kid pool.) I have worked over two thirds of my life in the restaurant and hospitality industry and recognize a well oiled machine when I see one. Jack was our server for the day and he went above and beyond. Seriously 5 stars just for Jack. If I could recruit him to come back cross country and work with me, I would. He’s a gem. The waterpark and facilities were super busy but well staffed, clean, maintained, and fun. Zero complaints and I honestly would visit PHX again just to come back here. Well done!

If you're considering booking this resort there are key points you should consider. I'll lay it all out for ya. My husband and I just returned from our trip; we stayed in a "grand suite" for 6 nights with our 2 kids (7 & 9). We feel that there was a "bait and switch" happening here. There is absolutely no "customer experience" here. At check-in there is no "welcome experience" to familiarize yourself with how things work or where things are. You figure it out as you go. No service for luggage- you lug it up the stairs yourself. Cons: -Absolutely no security. Anyone can drive in off the street and come right to your room. Or use the pool. -Sketchy neighborhood. The gas station across the street houses its cashier in a completely bullet-proof glass case and a homeless man politely asked us for money and then urinated in front of us. -The "grand suite" was outdated and dirty. Certainly looked nothing like the pictures on the website. I had to wipe everything down before unpacking. -Our room was located in the Mountainside building with a view of the freeway. Really disappointing considering the price. We kept the blinds closed for this reason. -Our shower window was broken in 2 spots and "repaired" with 2 squares of duct tape. -The toilet in the half bathroom wouldn't flush and we had to ask for repairs twice during our stay. -Housekeeping only came once during our 6-night stay. -The pull-out sofa in the living room had two twin egg crates as a "mattress pad". -There are barely any sidewalks anywhere. So when you're walking to the pool or waterpark, you are walking through the parking lots and dodging cars. -The pool areas are not maintained throughout the day. It looks like they were only cleaned in the mornings; if you arrive in the afternoon there are bottles and towels littering the areas. -At the Mountainside building the parking is in an awkward spot away from your door so you park parallel to your room, if you can find a space. Oasis Water Park Cons: -Bathrooms are disgusting and not maintained -Seating is bunched together and chaises look like they're from the 80s Pros: -Staff were all nice. Shout Out to Terry at the resort restaurant. -Oasis Water Park- a lot of fun and the kids loved it. Staff there was great also. Shout out to the water park manager (didn't catch her name- woman with black hair was very nice and helpful) -Oasis First Aid staff was also really nice when we needed a few band-aids -Taco truck at Oasis was phenomenal -Sno Cone truck at Oasis, also phenomenal -Hotel Lobby is pretty; nice gift shop and Cafe/Starbucks Overall, I wouldn't recommend this resort; mostly for the lack of security and the outdated, dirty room.

Had potential, but needs a facelift. We stayed for a wedding we were attending in Mesa. Could tell room needed some maintenance work, lots of outdated and scratched things when we entered the room. Felt like this was a nice place to stay in 2006 not 2021. Furniture and wood was dinged everywhere, saw broken fixtures throughout the property. Restaurant service was super limited as was parking. Spa also felt outdated with busted 80’s-90’s cabinets, for what we paid, nicest spot in the place was the lobby. This was a one and done.

Extremely dissatisfied with the entire experience, upon check in at 4pm as directed by hotel (very late to begin with) we were told our rooms were not ready and were not able to check in until 6:15 PM. Were not given any offer to hold baggage for the extended wait time or where to park or where we could go to escape the heat within the resort. Felt that was the least they could have done to accommodate incoming guests who had booked 2 rooms for 4 nights. Then upon check in at 6:15 PM were told the rooms we had booked were not available. Supposedly were given "better" rooms but simply just did not get the rooms we booked. No offer for help with luggage to room on third floor, nor any luggage carts available??? Many areas of the parking lot closed off so navigating to area near rooms to park was difficult. Rooms were not as represented online as updated, they are very old/outdated, smudged/dirty windows and mirrors, dirty fridge with food left in it from previous guest, cigarette butts on balcony, bird poop all over balcony, candy wrappers on floor in room. Simply just not cleaned well. Bathtub clogged so it would fill up while showering with dirty water, toilet broken, safe did not work. Called for repairs but never came to make repairs. Only after after 4 phone calls, 2 front desk visits, 2 days and request to speak with manager were the bathtub drain and safe finally repaired. However, the repair staff left what he had removed from clogged drain in the bathroom. Totally disgusting and inexcusable. Just complete lack of customer service and frankly common courtesy. For the amount charged and to call this place a resort is a huge misrepresentation in every sense. Have had far better customer service at a cheap motel and would not ever recommend or return.
