On arrival we were greeted by a very friendly young lady. As we were checking in she informed us that we would have to change rooms for the third night of our stay. When we asked why, we were told that the room was double booked. I then asked if we had to move to another hotel and was told that we just had to move to another room. I then suggested that that it would make more sense if the newly arriving guest take the vacant room. The young lady then proceeded to explain the definition of double booking, which I found as an insult to my intelligence. I then asked if the rooms were all the same and was told that they were. So I repeated my suggestion. She said that she could arrange our luggage and all personal items to be moved and we would not have to be present if we had plans. I said that it would still be a huge inconvenience and requested to speak to a manager. After being conveyed to our room in the strangest and noisy elevator I have ever encountered ( operated only by one’s finger being pressed on the floor number button to ensure arrival on the desired level). A few minutes later we were informed that no manager was available and that she would do her best to allow us remain in the room for the duration of our stay. I returned to my car to try to park it in the designated car park and my first obstacle was the extremely narrow gate with about 4 inches clearance on each side of my wing mirrors. When I managed to get through to the car park I was unable to turn and park so I returned to the street outside where I was very fortunate to find parking. Breakfast was included in our stay and was absolutely dreadful. Served in the adjoining restaurant which on arrival you were greeted by friendly staff but the terrible greasy smell was very unpleasant and unappetising. The menu was basic and the food was very poor. All was not lost however because as we departed for dinner that evening we were greeted by the night porter, Sammy, the most charming and infectious person you could ever have the pleasure to meet. He greeted us on our departure and return each night of our stay and we delighted in his enthusiasm and sense of humour. We were allowed remain in our room for the duration and the room was quite adequate despite the bathroom’s glass door being fitted badly preventing it from closing. Would probably not stay again but then we may not get to see Sammy again, which would be a terrible pity.

We stayed for our last four nights of our month long holiday in this lovely hotel. What a great place to finish ! All of the staff were fantastic , cheerful , friendly and helpful. It was in a perfect location for everything . Even though it’s very central we loved having our breakfast outside amongst the trees and beautiful old surrounding buildings . We cannot recommend this hotel highly enough and anyone that stays is in for a treat.

Arrived early and we were able to park in the car park ( very tight, but was fine). Ideally located close to quaint little town with lovely shops & restaurants (The Wine Glass restaurant and Java cafe bar were our favourites) . Hotel receptionist Chez was brilliant - very friendly and knowledgeable,& the night porter Sammy was great . We had a front facing room on the 2nd floor overlooking the street ( triple glazed windows which blocked out the noise). The room was modern , spacious and very clean . The bathroom was adequate & toiletries are supplied (also an iron and hairdryer in the room) . Breakfast was served in the sushi bar next door . Selection of fruit and cereal and a selection of hot dishes on request . Staff were lovely and friendly . We enjoyed our stay here and would recommend this value for money hotel in a good location .

Stayed 2 nights at this hotel, which is very central for the town, restaurants and bars, and wine tasting trips. Staff were excellent, especially Sammy who was the jolliest person we came across. Had a lovely breakfast even though they had a power cut, they managed to rustle up a full English. Highly recommend a stay here.

Ideally located to explore Stellenbosch and the wider wine region. If staying a few days would highly recommend staying in town for the multitude of restaurants and bars, as well as the history. Small boutique hotel with just a few lovely rooms. Staff really friendly and helpful with a lovely breakfast. On a busy road but quiet at night and triple glazed so doesn’t disturb. Would stay again definitely

We stayed at the hotel from 15-17 July 2023. On arrival, the manager, Jubeida, came outside to welcome us - that was a great start to our stay. The room was a little bit smaller than it seems on the website, nevertheless, the room was clean and fresh and lovely. The breakfast was simple, yet delightful. We had so much fun "operating" the lift - your finger must stay on the buzzer for the the entire ride ☺ The hotel is within walking distance from most of the popular restaurants. We discovered Plaisir Wine & Gin Lounge just two streets from the hotel....yes we walked there, even at night. Sunday morning was a lovely walk down Dorp Street to enjoy the Local Stellenbosch Sunday market filled with unique traders and crafters. The Uber service in the town is great! We used it three times to visit wine farms for lovely wine tasting. Jubeida recommended a visit to a wine farm with breathtaking views. And then there was Sam, the night porter....theatrical, quirky, funny and full of jokes, with his hat and white gloves. The only critique I have is the dining area - the dining area can do with a fresh look to compliment the rest of the hotel decor. I highly recommend a stay at 107 Dorp Street Hotel.

This hotel is neither boutique nor luxury. The photos on their website are very misleading. Bistro is now a sushi restaurant, facade is simply a door beside the restaurant. No lobby - just a hallway with a desk. Staff were lovely - very welcoming. But … no amenities, no room service, mini bar in (tiny) room had only water & not refilled until we asked. Our room had the shower & sink literally beside the bed & toilet behind a wooden door with no separate light. Comfortable bed, quiet but no luxury.

We only stayed for one night, but received a very warm and helpful welcome. This small hotel is good, if a little quirky - not least the lift! Parking is limited and spaces are tight, but it is good to have car in enclosed parking. Rooms are a little small but adequate, and the hotel is in the centre of Stellenbosch. Breakfasts are in the adjoining sushi restaurant, but are good.
