Lovely wine farm, child friendly, with lovely staff and lots of space to walk around. Pity our room had bugs, seemed like it wasnt cleaned for a while. Spiders in windows, wall corners and under the bathroom sink. Big cockroaches coming in even though our door was closed. And worms coming out of the damp wall in the bathroom. We stay a lot in the winelands and we understand bugs are normal - but we do expect a safe, clean room with no bugs crawling and flying around the room.

Response from Christine Smith, General Manager at Zorgvliet Country Lodge

Good day, Thank you for choosing Zorgvliet for your stay. We can assure you the room was cleaned on the day of your arrival and safe to stay over in. Millepedes, crickets and spiders are common, especially when we are located in the middle of vineyards. Most of the insects are harmless. We do have signs on our room doors which warns against leaving doors and windows open, but we did notice your doors were wide open throughout the day which most likely allowed entry for all the unwanted “guests”. Although we are sad that you did not enjoy your stay, we hope you understand this explanation. Kind Regards

We really enjoyed our stay! Our room, the lounge, the pool and the wine tasting area are very handsome and very well kept. Breakfast was very good! Every staff member we met was very friendly and keen to make our stay a good one. We liked the location in the Banhoek Valley between Stellenbosch and Franschhoek very much.

We were made to feel at home, spoiled and so well looked after by the Zorgvliet staff. The setting was incredible and we had an unbelievable time. So excited to book our next trip and stay at this little piece of heaven again!

Our stay at Zorgvliet was absolutely peaceful. We enjoyed walks on the property as well as relaxing under the trees as the picnic side. It is a lovely family-friendly property as our 3-year-old and 11 year old enjoyed the activities.
