I had an excellent stay in a beautiful room and very friendly staff. The breakfast was very good. Also safe parking off the street and the Manor is near centre of town , botanical gardens as well as most university buildings. .
From booking in to booking out everything went smooth. Evergreen are indeed very comfortable and close to most attractions in Stellenbosch. Although it is close to all attractions Evergreen will surprise you with a still and peaceful environment with a lovely garden and pool area.
The service and facilities at Evergreen is great. I suggest that a few rusks are available with coffee and tea in the rooms, especially for guests arriving late that cannot go out for dinner. Detailed touched e.g. a small chocolate on the bed may also be nice, as both these suggestions are standard at many other institutions.
Except for the night of a really important rugby game (Maties vs Tukkies), it was a very peaceful and quiet location. The manor is a few minutes walk to the old town and all the restaurants etc., and is close to the STIAS conference center. This made it ideal for the purpose of attending a conference. The rooms were clean and the facilities modern. The room we were in had an amazing Victorian era self-standing wardrobe which was an object lesson in functional carpentry, and made the room stand out from standard issue big-brand hotels which look and feel the same no matter where you are in the world. Service was friendly and professional. Breakfast had more than adequate selection of buffet and a la carte choices. Extra French-press coffee was provided without quibble. and the setting overlooking the garden patio and swimming pool was pleasant. I would certainly visit again should I need to stay in Stellenbosch at some future date.…
We enjoyed so much during our stay in this very personal and convenient hotel in Stellenbosch. The staff was very warm and helpful in all ways. Thank you Clayton, Sarita, Barend and all of you! We enjoyed a lot of our breakfasts outdoors in the nice quiet garden. The location is excellent to make day trips in the Winelands and Western Cape.
I recently stayed at Evergreen Manor where I enjoyed 3 nights with my toddler whilst travelling. The breakfast is very pleasant, my bed was very comfortable and the staff were amazing in meeting my needs for my little one. We enjoyed the surrounds of the garden and the pool.
We had a great stay, and when one of the persons in our party needed to visit a doctor, the concierge managed to organise an immediate doctors appointment. This required calling several doctors/hospitals and ended by calling in a favour with their personal doctor. This was above and beyond what we could have expected, and we are very grateful.
We thoroughly enjoyed our - sadly just one night - stay. Great hosts and staff, lovely extensive breakfast buffet, comfortable room - nothing left to wish for. We will certainly come back and then stay longer.
Whar a pleasent surprice to find a real family hotel with good old fationed elegence and friendly atmosphere nothing was to much troble for the staff and owner and the area is possitioned perfectly for the exploration of |Stellenbosch
I have now returned a number of times to this great little guest house. The personnel (Clayton, Saritha, Barend & their teams) are ultra-friendly, helpful, and professional. The rooms are large and well-appointed and spotless with all amenities one may need. It is a beautiful old building perfectly situated between academia and the tourist hotspot of the central historic old town. Safe, off-street parking, lovely garden, two clean and inviting swimming pools. Highly recommended!
