I have always seen this building as typical to the architecture of Stellenbosch and had the priviledge to stay there with my family. It is in the middle of the hustle and bustle of the eateries and art galleries, not to mention every shop and amenity imaginable. The staff is extremely helpful and friendly, the food of good quality and the rooms are spacious and neet. There is nothing I can negatively say. Access to the hotel is slightly challenging due to a lot of one ways. Once found the concierge will park your car securely on or off the premesis. If you want to see the heart of Stellenbosch, and stay in comfort this is the place. Walking distance to everywhere.

My wife and I spent a night here to celebrate our anniversary. I booked a "plenty room" which was really nice. The hotel is small and it really feels like the rooms are on top of each other....thankfully our room didn't have neighbour's on either side and the room size was good so we felt a bit away from the other guests which is really nice especially during a time of Covid. The service at reception needs some refinement and shall we say "finessing". Screaming of the radio for Tshepo to come move the car wasn't fitting to the delicate environment on the hotel. Needless to say Tshepo never came....I can see that some training is required here...its a little rough around the edges. Apart from that the service was just incredible...they left a complimentary bottle of sparkling wine in our room, all the staff wished us a happy anniversary and at breakfast the following morning they presented us with some small complimentary cakes with our breakfast- a super thoughtful touch. The pool area is lovely but not enough loungers. We sat there for over 2.5 hours and in that time not a single waiter asked if we wanted to order drinks or food. We were full from lunch so weren't really wanting food BUT if they had enquired we could have probably been swayed easily to order some snacks and drinks. What a wasted revenue opportunity for hotels struggling during a Pandemic. Surely they would want to maximize their F&B revenue? I feel quite sad for them actually. Here you missed out on an opportunity of us probably spending another few hundred Rands. Breakfast service was impeccable - attentive and very welcoming. Great stay overall and would be back in a flash.

I am a regular work traveler and was worried about COVID-19 safety. It was a huge relief to see a hotel who takes their guests and staff's safety seriously. Their customer service was brilliant from booking, checking in (which could be done online prior to arrival, or at reception), waitering staff who were very friendly and attentive, through to the cleaning staff, and concierge whose welcome was so warm. The hotel was spotless and fully COVID-19 compliant (i.e. many options for eating in their shaded garden, grape-wine shaded patio, lounge or restaurant), all staff and management wore their masks at all times, and even my luggage was santised upon arrival. My room was beautiful, comfortable and spacious. The airconditioner and amenities such a the swimming pool were great. While they were unable to provide the breakfast buffet due to COVID-19 they provided guests with an option of a full continental breakfast at their table (wide range of pastries, fresh fruit salad, cold meats, chesses, salmon trout etc.). There was also a full breakfast menu as well as all day meals available. With the hotel being located in the middle of Stellenbosch, there was no need to drive anywhere as there were so many restaurants and shops within meters from the hostel. I have already booked my return trip for next month and cannot wait to return. The attention to detail and friendliness from all staff was so great.

Location simply cannot be surpassed. Walking distance to stores and restaurants. Ease of parking, as valet service included and private garage on-site. Staff magnificent, from front desk to service and housekeeping. Elevator dependable. Well appointed and in very good taste. COVID-19 protocols strictly enforced. Very clean hotel. Breakfast of excellent quality. Definitely a keeper. We would return here in an instant.
