A beautiful place to stay in the heart of the wine producing area of Stellenbosch. Convenient for visiting the centre and vineyards. We had excellent advice and help from Melissa and her team, Precious was so helpful to us organising a special meal which was a fantastic experience. A wonderful place to relax after a long trip from the UK.

We opted for the larger room, and it was incredible. It was comfortable and clean, everything worked well (especially the air con on those hot days). The estate itself is breath taking and there are quite a few different feathered and furry friends that live on the property. The staff were the highlight of the experience; very friendly, interactive and helpful. Some things to note when booking: 1. the tap water isn’t for drinking, housekeeping restock smaller water bottles daily and you can purchase more at the restaurant or at a grocery store in town. 2. the estate’s restaurant / bar shuts at 5pm everyday, if you aren’t hiring a car then Uber eats is available.

Amazing beautiful place on magnificent grounds. It was quite disorganized when we arrived, but this was soon rectified. The staff were extremely accommodating down to my being restricted to gluten & lactose free products. The staff have a lot to learn, but highly respected our feedback, patience and input.

The surroundings are surreal, so beautiful! We started with lunch in the restaurant and it was more than good so we took a stroll in the new rosegarden before we enjoyed what is the best experience on the +25 vineyards we visited during our stay in SA! Cellar tour with DONOVAN taking us through the stories of tha chardonnay grape, the history of the estate and much more like tasting and it was truly astounding. We finished off by making our own bottle of MCC which was the icing on the cake of a wonderful afternoon at Weltevrede. We cant recommend it more than giving it the top grade

The room was clean and well appointed, the bed was comfortable, and the service was friendly and excellent. As the room is in an attic, be prepared to carry luggage up a steep ladder. The shower was in a loose standing bath tub where it was hardly possible not to spill water onto the floor.

We were a bit disappointed by our stay here. When we arrived we found out that the bathroom including the toilet were all part of the main bedroom with no privacy - this is not advertised on the website. The bed was comfy and the heated blanket under the bed sheets was nice. The room had an old fashioned vibe which was cosy but is not suitable for those with a more modern taste. We had no hot water during our stay and as we discovered this at night we were told it couldn’t be resolved until the next day, we planned to use the kettle to fill the bath but there was no plug in the bath which meant we couldn’t wash until we got a plug and the hot water came on the following day. There was no reception or contact details for help so we weren’t sure who to report the issue to, we eventually went to the security guard who assisted us. The room was very basic with little facilities and no safe in the room as are in most hotels. Breakfast was nice and had a good menu choice but service was quite slow. We had booked dinner elsewhere during our stay but note the restaurant and bar here close at 5pm.

We had a wonderful stay at Weltevreden Estate. From the moment we arrived and were overwhelmed with its grandeur and grace, Melissa, Lebo, Addington, Daniell and Amray went out of their way to accommodate, delight and please us. They even surprised us with a parting gift... :) We will return and look forward to Melissa's email. See you all soon.
