We were warmly welcomed by JP and blown away by the beautiful, creative space that we found ourselves in.
Sadly, the longer we were there the more we noticed the little details were lacking.
1) Most places you book offer breakfast…I was quite disappointed to learn that it was something we had to arrange ahead of time. It should be included in the price as due to the location, if you don’t know it is a problem, especially if you are travelling with children (which we were). It would take nothing just to pop a kettle and some rusks into each room / put out some cereals, yogurt and croissants / basic breakfast spreads for guests to help themselves to in the morning.
2) JP was not clear and had no information about where to get dinner either….that information should be readily available for guests. We had to figure it out and eventually ended up driving through to Franschoek where we were lucky to get a table as it was early.
2) The bedrooms…we booked as a family…we ended up downstairs, our children upstairs and yet JP told us that the house wasn’t full and not all the rooms were occupied. No attempt was made to put us together. He showed us all these lovely rooms and we even asked but we’re told we couldn’t move rooms.
Although we loved the quirky, creative decor, the rooms need some work…CURTAINS OR BLINDS! Staff members were constantly walking past our bedroom window and there was no privacy. The window above our bedroom door needs a blind…the light from the passage streams straight in and hits you in the face as you are lying on the pillow! The boxes with the wifi were in our room too, so we were blessed with the flashing green and red lights all night to add to it.
3) Late check ins arrived at 9:30/10:00 and made such a noise. We were getting ready for a long trip back to Joburg the next door and so this was not ideal. My husband eventually had to go out and ask JP and the clients to please keep quiet.

The bathrooms were dirty and the towels were damp and smelly.

Not great guys…for the amount we paid…it was not good value for money. Lacking in the little details and touches. It has so much potential to be the most amazing place and yet there are some serious things to consider that can make or break a persons stay.

The house is fabulous for a family reunion as the space is generous and you really have a feeling visiting close friends . A personal atmosphere with art and eclectic furniture, lovely rooms with comfortable beds . The house manager Jean Paul is a wonderful human being , helpful, friendly and takes your breakfast orders should you wish to eat there . Bring your books and some food and laze in the garden high above The Valley in beautiful nature . Nobody stresses there . We all loved it

A lovely place to wind down after a long trip. The location right under the mountain is just beautiful and quiet. A late check-in was possible and we were warmly welcomed. The house offers generous community spaces, a garden where it's possible to braai, even a little pool to cool down after a hot day. We enjoyed a quiet evening on the terrace and and in the 1st floor lounge. It felt like having the house to ourselves. The bed was very comfortable, so we slept very well. We liked the colorful interiors and lots of art on the walls.

We stayed in the suite as we needed the extra space, it was ok. Furniture very dated and the unit smelled a bit stuffy when we got there. The pool area was very nice and we did see another unit where a friend was staying which was a lot nicer than ours. We also found the beds very hard. We were only there for 1 night and attended a wedding so the location was ideal, only a few minutes away from a lot of the wedding venues. The staff are perfectly nice and welcoming. Overall, its a decent place to stay for weddings.

We attended a wedding at Boschendal. an easy close drive from there to Skyview Manor. easy check-in, clean, comfy beds. Aircon was not working in 1 room on awarm night - this made it very muggy and difficult to sleep.

Great pool to cool off in the summer with a fantastic view. Just didn’t like the fact that there was no wifi during load shedding, I think this is due to change but not sure when. Great big rooms with access to kitchen

Very enjoyable. Magical setting. The gentleman in charge Jean Paul is an absolute delight. He can't do enough to make you feel welcome and comfortable. Nothing is too much trouble. The self catering is terrific as you are not bound to any time lines.

Friendly reception, excellent position. Decor requires modernising but otherwise clean and well equipped.
Bathroom could do with bigger basin.
Overall the only requirement to get this to 5 star would bea complete revamp of the interior.
