DevonVale Estate have their own wine, which is delishhhh the Shiraz and Sauvignonblanc is easy drinking and smooth like a baby's bottom 😃😃😊😊😊😋😋😋 I can honestly recommend their wines for any occasion.
The Hotel Manager, Jaco Bindemann really went out of his way to make us feel welcome and made sure that the weekend went smoothly.
We enjoyed a WineTour that was done through Vine Hoppers ( I will write a different review, but can definitely recommend them)
Reception staff is super friendly and their restaurant Chez Shiraz food is amazingly delicious and staff is attentive and very friendly...
We went for a Couple's Massage and it was DEVINE and LOVED it, Sam and Samantha's hands managed to make us feel Refreshed, Relaxed and Revived. We fell asleep a few times 😊😂
I will be back for another stay hopefully for next weekend, Valentine's weekend ❣❣❣❣
Absolutely fell in Love with this Estate and it feels like home away from home.

While I had no issue with the room and the breakfast offered as part of the deal was very good I was totally irritated with the establishment before I arrived. On making my reservation I requested that I be able to check in a little earlier (check in was only at 3 pm!) as I had to be at a wedding nearby that was starting at 3. All I wanted was the room for an hour before to give me time to change and prepare for what was a formal occasion. The hotel did not even both to respond to the request which was made weeks before and when received my confirmation a few days before check in I saw that they had just ignored the request. I contacted them and they told me that I would need to pay a further R750 should I want to check in early! They said they would try and accommodate me to check in at 13.30. Needless to say I flatly refused this daylight robbery! The room was R2 410 per night for a check in a 3 pm and check out by 10 am. Caclulate this and it is R120.50 (including breakfast) an hour yet they wanted R500 an hour just for me to check in a little earlier to dress! They have the excuse of if they can get the room cleaned in time! For heavens sake how difficult is it to have your staff clean a couple of rooms first if you know you need them sooner? Also, are they paying their cleaning staff more for just doing their normal job and cleaning one room sooner than others? I doubt it! They did let me in a little sooner and at no charge which I would always have refused anyway but what was very obvious was that the hotel was extremely quiet and not busy at all so what was all the fuss about? Another attempt at conning for an extra few bucks? All quite sad really as the room was nice enough and the breakfast was good. The staff in the reception were friendly however the overall "vibe" on checking in is very formal, the staff in the dining room were very pleasant and efficient.

Met up with a friend of ours for lunch at Devonvale. A golf club that we have played and really enjoyed with springboks watching you three put! The restaurant is lovely with great views and very good staff. We all went for the kingklip and it was perfect. Devonvale produce wines and their shiraz 2014 was highly quaffable. I can highly recommend Devonvale. If you are in the Stellenbosch area it's worth the drive and no parking problems!

6 rooms booked at the hotel for father of the bride and family. Wedding taking place at a nearby venue.
Surprise check in time of 3pm (later than standard) and checkout by 10.30am. Really!
Room not ready by 2.30pm despite father of the bride waiting from midday.
Rude Hotel manager objected to father of the bride changing in the room while cleaning staff finished off.
If the manager is more rude than the guest then he should try a different vocation.
Hotel reminded me of a typical South African army camp.
With a start like this nothing that followed could compensate.

I am currently staying at Devonvale lodge for the weekend. The bed in my room is very hard and uncomfortable. A bed is very important when on holiday and I have visited several places and the beds here at Devonvale are the worst in comparison. Today’s breakfast was also dissapointing for me, there were only 3 cereals on the buffet. Muesli, rice krispies and weetbix. I prefer all bran flakes or cornflakes. Since they didnt have all brans, I opted for the muesli but I also could not eat that because they only had plain yogurt which I do not eat. They didnt have strawberry or fruit yogurt, In the end I didnt have cereal.

Good hotel, nice rooms, comfy bed. Nice surroundings, very relaxing, quiet. golfcourse, but even for us, not playing golf, there is enough to do in the surroundings, Stellenbosch is not far.
Devonvale is very relaxing. Good food in the restaurant, all the staff is excellent, friendly and very good in English. In doing short for all the staff members, we had dinner 3x and served by 3 different waiters who were very nice, Leon, Agreement and Cornelius.

A great haven to relax and unwind. A hidden gen in the heart of the Winelands. The service was amazing and really friendly team of people. The added fun was the run and market for Valentine's day - the live music was the cherry on top for a romantic evening away.

Devonvale Golf & Wine Estate offers a picturesque venue for conferencing. The Blumberg room we used has break taking views and ideal for smaller groups of up to 30 people. The food was great, and the chef checked with our participants after every meal to incorporate their suggestions and preferences, which made them feel like a part of our event more than just a host. From Thomas, Malcolm and Ingrid at the restaurant, Chrissy and Olie from events, Zoe and Monique from the reception to BB, everyone put in extra effort and made our stay memorable, making this one of our best conferences in the many years our programme has operated. Great teamwork and reflective of the management's good leadership.
We would recommend them for corporate events and private stays! Might spot some springbok, while walking around the estate :)

We arrived late in the evening, the restaurant had already closed. The kind front desk clerk called the restaurant and spoke to Thomas, who offered to have something made for us and delivered to our room. ( This hotel doesn't have room service). We had a nice steak and some wine, really needed after a long trip from the USA. In the morning, I was amazed by our surroundings. This is a beautifully situated resort. Our room was small but comfortable for the price. The included breakfast offered hot selections and a buffet, which was very filling. The dinners at the restaurant were excellent and well-priced. The golf facility is first-rate, with stunning views. We didn't have a car, which would be helpful if we were here longer than two nights. There isn't any place you can walk to. The Uber App was unreliable, but the front desk can help with transport. With a car, this would make an ideal location for a longer stay in Stellenbosch.

Hello, We do have wi-fi in the rooms, but cannot confirm the speed, which does depend on a few things we can do nothing about. We depend on our provider. Some days it is super fast and other days not.
Looking forward to welcoming you in the near future. Kind regards, Annie P.
Dear Evelet,
