We had booked a Luxury 1 bedroom suite at Stellenbosch Manor a few months ago as we were keen to stay somewhere in Central Stellenbosch for a few nights at the end of our longer Cape Town trip. The rooms looked large with good quality fittings and a simple walk into town.

We were given room #4 upstairs which was a nice bedroom with small lounge space and a separate bathroom in the private corridor. It wasn't what I had been expecting from the pictures online (I think room #4 is labelled as a Deluxe Room in the gallery?) and perhaps a watch out for anyone else booking that is expecting the spectacular four poster room with separate lounge as shown on-line!?

Fixtures and fittings were a good quality with high quality bedding and lots of wardrobe storage space including a small fridge and safe. Air con isn't very effective which makes the room very stuffy and we were awoken both mornings with the overpowering smell of bacon due to our location above the kitchen.

The walk into Stellenbosch is simple and takes around 10 mins - very pleasant by day but you will need a torch at night as the road isn't well lit and not the smoothest surface!

All residents are given their own keys as the property isn't staffed 24/7 and this allows everyone to come and go as required.

After a rather bumpy start to ur year, we booking into Stellenbosch Manor for 4 nights. From Booking, to Driving away it was a magicaly experience.

The magic begins with Libby Adams. What an asset to this Establishment. A wealth of information with regards to Things to do and where to go in and around Stellenbosch and more. Polite, funny, caring and extremely slick and professional. Thank you, you enhanced our stay 100 fold.

The Manor House is historical, whick I personally love - it is beautifully appointed, with classic and tateful furnishings. The House, Grounds and rooms are immacualte. Each Room provides its own charm and beauty. We had a Deluxe Room which was very comfortable. The linen was great, The hues were beautiful. Sunbloc on the curtains for an extra "lie in" it was heavenly. The Bathroom was spacious, with a lovely rainshower head (overhead for tall people - great). We were provided with Charlotte Rhyss bath products and crisp fresh towels. What more could one need.

As it is still wintery in South Africa in early August, there are two beautiful fires in the living room and the dining room which was cosy and created a homely feeling downstairs.

Breakfasts are light and fresh and tasty.

Huge accolades go out to Libby and the wonderful Team of staff making this stay exceptional for us. Thank you.

This elegant property is owned by the same family as the MolenVliet Vineyard Resort. Service is discrete and rooms and beds are comfortable and elegant. Patio overlooking the pool is a pleasant place to share and evening bottle of wine. It is essentially a B and B. You let yourself in and out with a keypad and there is no service beyond a very nice breakfast although staff can accommodate with glassware, ice and such. We were a small group and had the place to ourselves so it was like having a whole house.

We stayed here for 3 nights with our teen daughters (14/17y). Never saw such spacious and nice decorated rooms. The beds wereld lovely, the bathroom very nice with a good shower. The rooms are more like your own appartement. The lichtslang in the bedroom didn't work and it was quickly fixed within 2h when we got home from dinner. Breakfast, well that's something to look forward to! A great variety of specal fruits all fresh, fresh baked muffins, all sorts of bread, Meat, cheeses, you name it. also eggs/bacon etc possible next to this. The owner is just a lovely, most friendly and relaxed woman. I almost accidently set something in the bedroom on fire, I was so ashamed, but she was so reassuring and relaxed, it meant a great deal. I would recommend this place to my best friends and will definately return here someday. The only thing you should pay attention to is the gate and parking space. There's not too much room for parking inside the gate so take your time and keep a close eye on the gate to push the button if it closes and you're still parking back and forth. But it did not bother us. Thank you Elize! for giving us the best start of our holiday in SA!

Very good hotel, well situated and offering a lot of amenities for the price.

Tashriq and Linden were excellent hosts and the breakfast staff also provided great service. They were very helpful advising on restaurants and booked us an excellent afternoon wine tour. For R750 pp it was outstanding value.

Breakfast was very good with a good choice and excellent quality.

So, why not a 5? Well, we were housed in the suite at the bottom of the garden. Whilst the accommodation is very good and well appointed it lacks privacy in that all of the windows are overlooked by the pool seating and breakfast tables. As such we had to close every curtain when changing/until dressed in the morning. This made the room feel very dark. The staff were unable to offer us another room as they were fully booked and did apologise. However we both felt the issue could have been avoided by adding net curtains or light coloured blinds.

From the minute I arrived I was greeted with a warm welcome by Libby who was kind and attentive. The boutique hotel was decorated beautifully, comfortable and very clean. My suite was spacious and so comfortable. All staff were kind and friendly. The only feedback I would have would be on consistency of replenishing towels after the room was serviced, but this was a minor detail. Breakfast was fantastic. Bed and pillows were super luxurious and comfortable and linen was freshly cleaned.
I raved about my stay to family and friends and would definitely be back.

STAY AT STELLENBOSCH MANOR! When you think of a charming B&B, this is the gold standard. We absolutely loved our time here when we stayed in September and are already looking forward to going back. The rooms are big, clean, and have a charm that is very hard to capture. The breakfast was delicious and it was lovely to have some fruit and coffee by a cozy fireplace before a day of visiting wineries! The bed was so comfortable and the luxurious bathroom was the perfect way to unwind at the end of the day. Stellenbosch Manor even excelled at the details of shampoo/body wash smelling absolutely amazing!

This review wouldn't be complete without a special shout out to Linden, however, who made our stay at Stellenbosch Manor next level. Although we were only there for two nights, he treated us like VIPs and was very willing to give us recommendations on wineries and restaurants. The property itself is stunning, but Linden made it a highlight of our trip.

We will be back some day and look forward to seeing Linden and the rest of the crew and catching up!

Thanks again,

Anthony & Mary

We couldn't have asked for a more charming, well-appointed, cozy guest house. Truly, the property is beautiful and the rooms spacious, comfortable and beautifully decorated. The best, however, was the staff. Our host Libby was delightful, plus helpful beyond compare. I'd be remise if I didn't also mention that the rooms all have heat sources and, additionally, some have fireplaces. This is important as Stellenbosch in the winter can be cold. In the common areas Libby and her staff kept the fires burning brightly, which made for a most wonderful atmosphere. I cannot recommend this property highly enough!

It's with great regret that we were very much looking forward to our stay at SM but given the worldwide restrictions imposed on SA last week we had to cancel at short notice. Whilst our other accommodations booked on the trip were extremely understanding and flexible in rearranging dates and indeed organising refunds, SM advised that as this was a foreign govt decision there was nothing they could do and we would loose everything. Sadly they said we should go through insurance, which is obviously not available as it is a govt decision to suspend flights to much of Africa.

My point being is please exercise extreme caution in booking here given their lack of flexibility in the current times- we have lost everything when a simple change of dates could have been easily arranged.

Finding the place was easy and the neighborhood was quiet, the guesthouse is very close to a lot of amenities which was convenient for us to do some sightseeing. The guest house has beautiful features and our room was so clean and very spacious. The breakfast was splendid and delicious and very filling. Our host was always welcoming and interacting with us. We truly enjoyed our stay there and will definitely come back
