Nice guest House, just a mile or so away from downtown Stellenbosch. We opted for the double room with private bathroom and got an additional sitting area with table and chairs and a sofa chair also. Just outside our room was a kitchenette where we had access to a kettle, a microwave, a fridge and all the plates, bowls, mugs and cutlery we needed. They also give you some cornflakes and weetabix and some milk for a quick breakfast. The night we stayed, they were fun and so when we came back after the wedding we attended, there were no parking spaces left and had to just double park inside the property. There is free wifi but the coverage isn't great. Overall the place is good and I would recommend it.

Very friendly and professional personnel, especially Stanley. Neat & quite house & garden. Secure parking on premises could be a problem in during season. Most guests preferred to park their vehicles behind fence on premises and not in street.

We had a wonderful stay. Also, the hotel was wonderfully flexible when we checked a day late (after we got stuck in the desert on our flyaway when our plane had technical difficulties). Also, there was a washing maschine to take care of our dusty clothes and make us feel dressed to the occasion again.

We booked the one-bedroom apartment for 2 nights at Magnolia Place Guest House in September. There were 3 of us travelling together, therefore we wanted that room. We paid the necessary deposit before arriving and understood that everything was arranged as discussed. We arrived there, from Gauteng, at about 7 in the evening. We were ready to unwind and relax in our room. Stanley requested we pay the remaining fee and then proceeded to tell us that he had to move us into two separate rooms on their other premises not far from there. As it turns out, the other premises is not as well maintained, and it was very unpleasant since we shared one suitcase and lived in two separate rooms. The hairdryer didn’t work, and you needed to prop up your phone charger with a bottle to get the plug to work. Sleeping in two separate rooms when we were travelling together did not help the situation. Next morning Stanley told us that someone was staying at Magnolia for a longer period of time, therefore they got preference to the room that we had originally booked. We did not want to spend another night running from room to room, so we requested our money back, so that we could look for alternate accommodation. Stanley promised to refund our money later that same day. Two months down the line, numerous phone calls and emails later and we have still not received a refund. Stanley refuses to allow us to speak to the owners. He keeps promising to pass on the message to their accounts department. He won’t allow us to communicate directly with accounts either. He became quite rude when we insisted that we have been very patient, and it was time that our money be refunded.

Magnolia Place is divided into two seperate entities and different room options. My room with double bed was peaceful and spacious, it has a garden view. The room contains coffee making facilities but a full shared kitchen is available inside the guest house. A shopping centre is just around the corner, within walking distance.

We booked for accommodation in Dec 2022 on 5 September 2022, but only after we went through the entire booking process and paid the 50% deposit, did the site reveal that the kitchen is a communal one and had to be shared with other people. We then IMMEDIATELY cancelled our booking. It is now the 28th of September and we have not received the refund of our deposit, even after numerous requests (not that requests should have been necessary in the first place!!)
Do not book at Magnolia Place Guest house in Stellenbosch, you may lose your money, like it seems we have now done...!!

Good value for money, friendly and helpful service - facilities are somewhat tired. With Stellenbosch trafic vey busy the location makes it difficult to reach the centre of town. Stellenbosch with its narrow streets will have to do something with the traffic otherwise it is going to reach a standstill.

I just don't know where to start.
It was the worst terrible staying experience in my whole life.
My booking was done via Booking.com. When I arrived at the gate, I was told to park my car and he will check me in. I had to teach him how to see where my name was. I was totally annoyed already. His conversation starting lines was pathetic and unprofessional.
They then referred me to another accommodation that is apparently linked to the original one. You had to drive there again.

My room had 3 doors - and all 3 doors was linked to other rooms. I have heard a Zoom meeting taking place for 4 tormenting hours and a couple fighting over chicken, then a person not happy that they are using her body wash.

The smells from different types of cooking from every room or apartment of whatever they call it. The noise of every one TV's. I was supposed to prepare for a very important meeting, but was impossible.

This is absolute absurd. I phoned around to see where I could have re-booked, but everyone was fully booked.

It was the most dreadful place to stay. There absolute no silence and no appreciation for a business trip,

I ordered KFC and within 9min there was cockroaches making their way to it.

Bedding had a terrible smell.

Great location and value for money. Good facilities, we especially enjoyed the braai area and a break from eating out while on holiday. We also made use of the very reasonably priced laundry service. I would definitely stay again.

I liked the privacy, quietness and safety of Magnolia. I was impressed by the well equipped self catering cupboard corner, which made it easy and possible to eat in. Plates, cutlery, microwave, toaster, kettle, fridge, milk, coffee, tea, cereal and rusks provided. The SuperSpar shopping centre is within 5 mins walk. Recommended!

Hi Duane, we wish to think so. We have received over the years many guests coming for weddings in the Stellenbosch area. And our rates are very affordable.
