We stayed at De Zeven for 2 nights for a wedding at nearby Zorvliet. The guest house is beautiful with the most wonderful views across the vineyards and mountains. The rooms are all lovely chose from those on the lower floors for a veranda or upper floors for slightly enhanced views. Personally I liked the veranda room I had. The room was huge with a seating area and lovely bathroom with a tub, beautifully decorated. The indoor / outdoor seating area with the fire was just gorgeous with more fantastic views. We also made use of the sauna (with a viewing window of the mountains) and jumped into the somewhat cool pool afterwards (it was coming into winter but nice nevertheless). The service was absolutely lovely, everyone was so friendly and relaxed. The breakfast was delicious with a choice of hot options. Also an honesty bar was a nice touch for the glass or bottle of wine in the early evening. Would really recommend staying here.…
A very calm and beautiful place. Decoration with so much love for the details from the front desk until the very last corner of the rooms. The garden with the infinity pool was full of flowers and enough sunbeds to chil next to it. The pool itself could use a little bit more care. Our room was huge with a walking rainshower i have never seen before so big. Breakfast with a great view, like every spot at the lodge. Various egg meals you can choose from and a small, but good plate served with bread and fruits and a small selection of meet and chees. Definitively would come back!
Stayed 4 nights as we were attending a wedding less than a mile down the road and found a real gem of a place. When we arrived up a dirt path up to the gates and rang the bell to no response I thought what have we come to?! When we got inside it is just fabulous, great decor, spacious public areas, honesty bar and the views simply amazing. Our room was a junior suite and massive, like sleeping in a warehouse, spacious with stunning views of the mountains and infinity pool. Breakfast was great as were the staff. Spent a bit of time with the resident pets there, Sophie the cat and Honey and Bear the German Shepherd cross. Thoroughly recommend this place, its lovely!
I would recommend De Zeven to anyone that is looking for a luxurious stay with beautiful views. I would like to thank the staff at De Zeven for exceptional service and going the extra mile. The rooms are beautiful and the food was absolutely AMAZING! I will definitely be back. Love, Jenna Carmen
What an amazing place!! We have traveled many places and this is on our top 3! First the landscaping is nothing short of amazing - grogeous plants and trees everywhere. The owner was super friendly and personable every time he saw us. He allowed us to pick between 2 rooms so we took the room with the better view - room 7. Wow.. we couldn't find better views in all of Stellenbosch so we spent tons of time in the room. Breakfast was served every morning and it was amazing -- very large spread with great views! It was too chilly to use the pool but wow... The room itself was almost perfect as it had great views, nice large super comfortable bed, large shower and large tub, and black out curtains. However two areas of improvement are 1) The AC is kindof weak. Fortunately the weather was quiet cool but one night it got a bit stuffy and we couldn't get the AC to get cool enough (it's advised to not have it below 19). And 2) the bathroom does not have a door... You will hear your spouse on the toilet .. so you better be comfortable with that! It didn't bother us so that's why I still give this place 5 stars!…
Another one of Cape Town's gems. The hospitality is next level. The staff and management go out of their way to make you feel at home. Delicious platters, sipping on bubbly, exceptional views...what more could one ask for. Can't wait to return!
This is a truly magical little hotel with wonderful views of the distant mountains and surrounding vineyards. With only 11 rooms it is intimate and friendly and the staff are exceptional. The guest house has been designed by the owner Siobhan and has quite rightly featured in fashion shoots as it is beautiful. There is a small Infinity swimming pool, a sauna and treatment room and an honesty bar. We stayed here for a week in January the weather was fabulous, we went on some wonderful walks and there are some great Vineyards nearby for lunch. Close to Stellenbosch, Franschhoek and Paarl the location is perfect. We had a room with probably the best view which is number 7 in the original farmhouse. It's a corner room with windows on two sides overlooking the valley and distant mountains. However in high Summer it is really hot and we didn't sleep brilliantly during our stay as we couldn't get the temperature right. It also doesn't have blackout curtains and faces east. So when the weather is hot it is probably worth paying a little extra for the modern pool rooms which are much larger and more shaded. The biggest surprise for us was the food which was exceptional. We didn't realise that they were serving dinner when we booked but it was a lifesaver during the covid curfew. Adrian the chef did a marvelous job devising a four-course menu that changed every night. The food looked beautiful, tasted delicious and was light and inventive. We look forward to staying here again on our next visit.…
We stayed there only for one night, but immediately knew that we wanted to be back. The property looks exactly like the pictures, the views are breathtaking, staff is super nice. We had the best time there. The sauna and the pool has amazing views! The gardens are gorgeous. Absolutely wonderful place!

a perfect ending to a perfect trip - this lodge is the perfect size. enough space to give privacy and enough space to enjoy the company of other guest if you wish. rooms were spot on. the design element was most impressive and I would love to bring some of it into my own home. Lovely breakfast daily with your staples and a few surprises as well. If we are ever lucky enough to travel back to south africa I have not doubt we will stay here again.
