We spent 13 nights at Chabivin. It was very relaxing and we enjoyed every minute of it. Our cottage was comfortable, regularly serviced and very private.. Chabivin is close to Stellenbosch and from there we were able to drive to many of the beautiful places of the Cape. On arrival we were gifted with a bottle of Beeslaar Pinotage - really good wine! Thank you to Danelle and team for your hospitality.

We spent several weeks staying at Chabivin while waiting for our repatriation flight to NZ. We initially booked only for a few days but loved it so much we extended for the rest of our stay in SA. We had the opportunity to stay in all 3 of the cottages on the property – all of them were excellent! We chose this place mainly because it was pet friendly, as we were traveling with our 2 little dogs. The place is located on a boutique wine estate just outside of Stellenbosch in the Paradyskloof area. It is about a 10min drive into central Stellenbosch and 15min to the N2 at Somerset West. There is a small Woolworths minimarket just down the road for a great range of groceries and meals, and a larger shopping area 5 minutes down the road at Jamestown. The setting is particularly pleasant, the cottages set amongst green lawns, beautiful gardens, vineyards, and patches of forest. There are great views to the Stellenboschberg mountains which glow red in the setting sun every evening. The owners, Danelle and Hendrik, were particularly warm, welcoming, and customer-oriented and assisted us on numerous occasions – great hosts! All the cottages were very comfortably furnished with TV (DSTV, Netflix, etc), very effective wood stoves, and AC units. All had large, fully functional kitchens and free Wifi internet. The interiors were modern and nicely decorated. We loved all the cottages, but our favorite cottage was the Deck Studio. We found it to be very modern and cozy, perfect for a couple on a romantic getaway. It was bright, roomy, and airy and captured the morning sun nicely as it rose over the mountains. The studio has a beautiful deck on the roof with outstanding views of the mountains. A close second was the Vineyard Studio, also a great venue for a couples getaway. A nice little enclosed yard and small wood-fired hot tub make this a nice spot to enjoy the setting sun over the vineyard. The 3rd cottage is more suitable for a small family, with 2 bedrooms and a large living area set into a copse of old eucalyptus trees. Lots of outdoor sitting and eating areas make this cottage and nice place to unwind with plenty of space for kids and dogs. Overall we had an amazing stay at Chabivin and felt like it was our home away from home. We would definitely stay here again given the opportunity and would highly recommend it to other travelers.
