This was our final stop at the end of a two week holiday in South Africa. It was a bit like staying in a country manor place - beautiful furnishings and arty bits, without being pretentious. It was only a 10 minute drive into Stellenbosch town centre. The owner was so friendly and knowledgable and nothing was ever too much for him to accommodate. At the end of our stay he gave us a tour of some of the other bedrooms - by his own admission, we were in the 'worst' room (it was also the cheapest which is why we booked it!) and whilst he may have been right, it was still so beautiful and comfortable. We had a sumptious meal in the hotel's restaurant - excellent ambience, unhurried and, again, knowledgeable. Lovely to realise it is part of a training school for future hotel management people and chefs. Would definitely be happy to stay here again.

Thank you so much for your fantastic review of 33 Dine. I notice a less than perfect rating for 'Sleep Quality'. For our future guests (and hopefully you folks again), please make a suggestion as how this aspect could be improved. Thanks again. Hope to see you soon.

We stayed in room 3 upstairs, with bathroom, shower & tub. It is very spacious, nicely decorated in country style with candles, pictures, ostrich eggs, and it even has a fridge and AC. Very convenient and appreciated was that there were enough plugs - a few additional ones in the cupboard next to the fridge. Well thought through! For the size of the room the price was definitely reasonable for the low season (November). They have a beautiful large patio with a fountain and a tiny pool. A very friendly guard opens the gate for you so you can park inside. We didn't try the restaurant, but breakfast was excellent and absolutely lovely arranged with sliced fresh fruit, yummy. One suggestion to the owners - it were good to provide some information about the restaurant as some guests might be too shy to ask. The beds were good, though they were 2 separate beds - for sure good as you can use them as twin as well as double but I personally like connected beds better. Still this wouldn't be enough for me to deduct half a star ;-) even if it were possible. Maybe even 1 single large sheet would do the trick. Overall we had an excellent and very pleasant stay and would definitely return if we came to the area again. I found 33 Stay through the internet and booked via e-mail as it is very close (about 2 km) to Speers. I had wondered a little that there was no feedback to be found yet. But no surprise - as I found out I had booked just only a day after they re-opened under new ownership! Initially I had thought they were a little snotty - but then figured they were just careful but really extremely friendly and eager to please. No wonder as they were so recently opened.

We are delighted by the wonderful review from mainaufan. All beds were replaced today. We are confident the sleep experience will now match the standard of the other aspects.
