The rustic, wooden, warm character and wood fired hot tub welcomes you home. The crackle and warmth of the large indoor fireplace sets the stage for a beautiful, ageless dance of the flame; the only "TV" we allow whilst spending quality time with your family and enjoying an amazing glass of wine. The rooms are all super king sized beds, with extra length, which is done by using two 3/4 mattresses that can be separated

Property's Favourite Review
We stayed in the barrel room and were immediately left speechless by the decor, cleanliness, and attention to detail. The staff were all beyond exemplary; they were kind, friendly, helpful, but mostly genuine people. The food is everything the menu leaves you desiring. It is mouth melting soul rejuvenating explosions of flavour. We also loved the animals. Simba was the first to greet us, his bouncy playful behaviour will no doubt entice you on a walk around the property. We also had both Socks and Venus, their two cats, sleep with us. There are numerous fun activities to keep you occupied outside, and a sophisticated bar and lounge with a fire place to relax inside. And not to forget the setting. It will repaint your perception of heaven with sunsets that warm the heart. This is a MUST STAY place.

We stayed here for 5 nights and found the Log Cabin’s quiet location ideal for trips out to Stellenbosch and the surrounding area, whilst providing an pleasant garden setting, attractive views and small pool. Service was friendly and efficient, cleaning excellent, and we appreciated the large comfortable bed, air-con and powerful shower.
Our room on the first floor and was rather dated in appearance, with a preponderance of dark, heavy wooden furniture and fittings. Although spacious, the bathroom in particular was rather 80’s in style and in need of an update.
Our main bugbear was the buffet breakfast, which had to be pre-ordered on a paper slip the evening before. After ordering one hot option (poached egg on toast with a side of onion and tomato) and finding it swimming in liquid and inedible, I stuck to the yoghurt and fresh fruit, which was fine. Other guests had a traditional breakfast with scrambled eggs which looked better. Coffee offerings were excellent, but a better choice of teas (earl grey and mint?) and bowls of fresh fruit salad and yoghurt from which the guests could help themselves would be appreciated.
Overall we enjoyed our stay, but feel that with some tweaks the experience for future guests could be
further enhanced.

Set among the vineyards that stretch through Devon Valley The Log Cabin is sited on the Louisvale Wine Farm. The upper deck stretched the length of the lodge and we had a beautiful view over the dam on one side and the mountains on the other giving a sense of peace and tranquility.
We booked the Difference Room (one of 4 superior king rooms) which was very spacious and very comfortable. It had an en-suite bathroom, a kitchenette that had a bar fridge, coffee maker, kettle and an array of coffees & teas were provided. There is also an air conditioner to keep you cool during the hot summer days. The communal lounge/bar area has comfortable soft furnishings and leads out onto the deck where there is a lovely braai facility, tables, chairs & umbrellas. On the ground level there is a lovely swimming pool & a jacuzzi. We were looked after by Shaakierah and her team who gave excellent service and went out of their way to accommodate any requests.
A must stay if you are in the Stellenbosch area.

Practical, clean cabin with ample parking. Breakfast service was generally poor, slow and disorganised. Check in was quick and efficient with a lot of tips on the surrounding area. The accommodation was well maintained and clean but can be a little noisy due to neighbouring guests. Very sweet dog and cats at the property.

My partner and I stayed at The Log Cabin for one night and it was an incredible time! The thoughtful touches of quality throughout the room were such a treat, from the most comfortable bed to the thick towels to the many light fixtures for different options of ambiance. We loved hanging out in the communal lounge with the fire place, dart board and board games at our disposal, as well as the company of the lovely staff. The breakfast was delicious too - the bread is homemade and absolutely divine. And of course the location is wonderful for walking around the valley and enjoying the beautiful views in every direction. The dogs joined us on the walk as well which made for an even happier time! Would definitely recommend a stay at this little gem in Stellenbosch.

I loved the rooms - they were well sized with a large bedroom, bathroom and kitchenette. The bed was huge and comfortable. Our room was the Barrell room and everything in the room had a touch of a wine barrel - the headboard was stunning. Aircon was welcome. We made a dinner in the communal kitchen on a gas stove and ate outside overlooking the beautiful valley. We were invited to take fresh veggies from the garden (a first for us!). The breakfast was scrumptious. The owner (Kobus) and his staff were all very professional, friendly and helpful. Will definitely stay there again. Thank you for a wonderful time.

As far as my wife and I are concerned to fault the Log cabin Lodge is difficult.
It was comfortable and well placed for exploring the Stellenbosch. The setting is idyllic, we enjoyed sitting out in the evenings with a glass of wine looking over the dam or lying in the sun by the pool. You need to like pets here, with friendly cats and dogs to play with.
The staff where excellent, quickly dealing with and query I had. They made us feel very welcome but did not intrude.
The big question will we stay again? Yes, definitely we loved it.
Only a few small issues:
We stayed in the cottage, the crookery etc is a mismatch of odds and ends. This needs to be looked at as the rest of the Lodge has been very well thought out.
There was nothing to deal with the biting bugs
It would be nice to have a sofa or comfy chairs outside like the main rooms.

Hi Edward, Thanks so much for taking the time to write a review. You will be happy to hear that we replaced the crockery etc with all new sets to replace the odds and ends, and have added mosquito repellent to the rooms as well (: Regarding the outdoor sofa idea, we are giving it some thought and will look at adding it along with the outdoor chairs currently available. Thanks for the tips, kindest regards, Kobus

Four of us (adults) stayed here on the 28th of December. We were pleasantly surprised by the large bedrooms, the neatness, and their efficiency. Air conditioning, etc. The complete package.
I will definitely remember them if we need them in the future. Well done!

We arrived a bit later than expected, but Lorraine was very friiendly and helpful when we booked in. The Log Cabin is situated on the Louisvale Wine Estate and the surroundings are beautiful. If you want quiet, this is the place to be. Rooms are very neat and the cabin is extremely comfortable. Breakfast is excellent, pool and jacuzzi is kept very clean and it is majestic relaxing there with the mountains surrounding you, beautifully kept garden and you feel relaxed walking in such beauty. Shakeraah and her staff are excellent. I will definitely go back again as the stay there was majestic. Do yourself a favour and make this part of your trip when in the area.

The Log Cabin is a wonderful gem in Stellenbosch with it's beautiful surroundings and wonderful rooms that are big and spacious yet still warm. The morning breakfast was stunning with freshly made farm bread and thought out food. My only small complaint was that the coffee capsules for the nespresso machine was not replaced during the servicing. Other than that it was a perfect stay!
