Friendly, fun, fantastic, high class but not pretentious, helpful, delicious... what more can I say, I loved it. You can chill, chat feel at home whatever you feel like its all acceptable and the staff go above and beyond to make it happen. Great value... perfect retreat from the city and perfect base for exploring the wine route

This is a wonderful place to use as a base for visiting the many wine estates around the Stellenbosch area. The accommodation is comfortable and thee staff are friendly and efficient, most notably Angus the night duty manager and the young lady (I forget her name) who runs the wine tasting. We had an Icon room with plunge pool and outside shower. The outside amenities could be a little more private, however, and a few guests would wander past our courtyard and were able to look in.

The site is a dream. Located in a vineyard at the foot of the mountains, the landscape is breathtaking.
The room was very clean with king bed and several refreshments available to us. To our great surprise, we had access to a small private swimming pool.
A short stay, but it was an extremely pleasant start to our trip to South Africa.
Take the time to do the wine tasting and if you don't want to go out for dinner, the lodge can prepare a platter of cheeses, cold meats and breads that you can enjoy with the bottle of wine you purchased during your stay. tasting in the afternoon.

My low rating is as a result of.......the TV was broken non functional, no hotwater in the bathroom. There were, no tea or coffee cups, or coffepods avaiable for the Espresso machine. The hotel allowed guests to enter the public swimming pool with wine glasses and bottles , whilst owners claim no responsibility for any injuries to guests.

I came here with my partner for a peaceful, relaxed few days at the end of our holiday. Unfortunately, however, the vinyard decided to host a pop up cinema event at the same time as our stay, with 100s in attendance, a little over 10m from the rooms terrace. This did not end until 11pm with dance music blaring. This shows that the hotel thinks little of its guests and is more interested in profits from the pop up cinema. Other than that, the rooms are OK but need updating, especially the bathrooms, and the pool is dirty and unusable. The staff were great, but hard to get hold of, and the breakfast was homemade, simple and delicious. This, however, would not make me want to stay here again, and I'd advise others to stay elsewhere. The WIFI is also terribly slow.

We had a lovely one night stay at L’Avenir, and enjoyed the beautiful grounds. We booked a double for ourselves and twin for our teenage boys and the lodge helpfully had us in adjacent rooms. The complimentary wine tasting was a lovely touch and the staff were incredibly helpful on all our requests, also accommodating an early breakfast the Saturday morning to help us get to the airport promptly.

Beautiful hotel in a quiet location. Here you can relax for a day or two with good wine after exploring.

Our room by the pool was nicely furnished and clean.

The complex allows for some nature experiences. You can take in the views during a wine tasting at the winery.

Regarding the breakfast mentioned: Instead of a buffet, guests are served at their table. Fruit, muesli with yoghurt, bread, cheese and then a more hearty British-style breakfast.

We booked 2 nights at L'Avenir and loved every moment of our stay! We could not fault a single thing :) A wonderful team from the front desk to the tasting room, the waiters and people behind the scenes at the actual distillery and housekeeping, we were always met with a smile, a quick chat and great service! Clearly a well run property with passionate people that make this place special :) Thank you for everything, we will certainly be back.

A really beautiful experience, from our accommodation, to the wine tasting, the Boule, the pool, the stunning views of the lakes and vineyards, and the most amazing people who work there.

We stayed in the Honeymoon suite, which had everything we needed on the inside. Our private outside area had a splash pool, an outdoor shower, and a quaint secret sitting area, just beyond the boundary wall. We had a most amazing evening.

Breakfast was fantastic. We sat outside overlooking the pool and one of the lakes/dams below.

All in all, an experience to remember

This wine farm is absolutely a hidden gem and we really discovered it by accident as they were one of the last places in the Stellenbosch area having accommodation left for the long weekend in September for two couples. From the word go we were extremely impressed. I made a huge mistake with the dates of our booking and Elmarie at the country house was immediately willing to rectify the problem. The rooms are great. We opted for the pool facing rooms. They had a tiny verandah overlooking the pool. The rooms are superiorly clean. Maybe one suggestion. Make the single beds a double bed. Breakfast was a feast. The pool area just stunning. We were showed around the grounds and were mesmerized. Wines are surprisingly good. We will definitely be back.
