We had a fantastic stay at Wedgeview! Our welcoming host named Happi took such good care of us from the moment we arrived. We stayed in a spacious and luxurious room overlooking beautiful gardens with a variety of bird life. Breakfast was superb 👌 Happi tended to our every need with sincerity and grace.

A small boutique guest house and spa in the middle of a working wine farm. The room is spacious and well equipped. The bathroom is outstanding with a big free standing bath, separate shower, separate toilet with the best toiletries.
Well equipped mini-bar in the room.
The main bar works on an honesty system.
Meals taken at the lodge was exceptional

Accolades to Ben who made a spacious garden room available at such short notice. The room and bathroom were clean and well appointed. The breakfast in the garden was just perfect.
The location from the town is ideal, outside enough to enjoy the view of the wine farms, but within minutes to enjoy what the city has to offer

Beautiful and romantic stay with an excellent extensive breakfast, something for everyone. The hospitable service of the employees completed the stay. We enjoyed a beautiful and hygienic garden room with flower petals on the bed upon arrival.

A well kept secret - normally frequented by mostly Dutch and German visitors. What a special find for us locals. Beautiful country gardens overlooking spectacular views across the Vinyard to the mountains. Hospitality bar none. Staff that could not do enough. Fresh, luxury fruit, delicate pastries and fabulous choices of hot breakfasts started our days.
The meals and particularly salads presented for our ladies weekend were incredible. (I want the recipe’s) Wine selection also fab. Just all around a wonderful weekend. Highly recommended.

Once upon a time maybe a 5 star hotel with luxuriously decorated rooms as mentioned in the description; but it was sadly not at all the experience we had.
In the dining area: paint peeling off the walls, spider webs in the corners, stained cushions everywhere(when not missing), dirty floors and crumbs on the tables from the day before.
Our room (17) on top the garage of the property, plain white walls with 1 small painting in a corner on and 2 damaged fake (plastic) leather seats. The bathroom had been redone… with still masking tape hanging off the ceiling.
The garden beautiful indeed; but in need of care with a murky dark green fish pond as a center piece.
Upon giving some feedback we were told our room was being “maintained”. My recommendation would have not to have put us there then…. The hotel was far from full and I’m afraid we ended up very disappointed of our stay.

Arrival was a bit difficult due to our navigation, we were sent to the back of the hotel via unpaved roads with large holes in them. Once we arrived, the friendly welcome was also noticeable, the rooms are very modern and cozy. Breakfast and dinner and even the massage were absolutely great, afterwards the owner drove us more than 200 km behind us to drop off some things we had forgotten. Service was a big 10

It’s a beautiful homestead in a beautiful setting. It was however style over substance. All day the builders were banging away. We were assured that it would finish at 3pm but it didn’t. Then they started the concrete mixer just before 6pm. That ran until about 7. We hid away from the noise with another couple of couples but it was like banging your head against a wall. Completely ruined the experience. Went to bed without our dinner because despite giving them our order at 5 for dinner at 7, we were staring at empty plates at 8. The owner was on the premises but hid from the. guests. We would come back for the view but nothing else. Almost the worst hotel night of my life… avoid or bring some earmuffs and a picnic…

Normal property with nothing special but with good green area. It was nice with good staff .Rooms are ok but scattered in the area and have just what you needed. WiFi was very poor and you could barely connect to it. The restaurant served good breakfast but dinners weren’t that good. Frankly I wouldn’t stay there unless I have to.

Dear Majs337, with surprise I have read your review. I honestly cannot understand how someone could write that WedgeView is a normal property and nothing special. I wonder what else you would have wanted or needed in your room. It would have been great if you would have maybe told us what we could have added to the room for you, but you didn't give us any feedback during your stay. You mention that the wifi was poor, but not once you came to the office to query this and we could have checked this for you. Our wifi is available everywhere on the property. It could have been that there was a provider problem at the time, but again, you could have reported it and asked us. We are obviously glad to hear you enjoyed our breakfast, but are disappointed that you didn't rate our dinner. I am not sure what you ordered for dinner, but we offer a seasonal a la carte dinner from our Bistro Style Restaurant with lovely options, but we are not a fine dining restaurant if that is what you expected. Maybe it wasn't to your liking which is a real pity, but we would have loved to have this feedback during your stay, so we could have maybe done something for you. Thanks though for your review. Kind regards, Dave & The WedgeView Team

This was our first visit and stay at WedgeView Country House & Spa, but for sure not the last .... we do hope to be back soon, as this is simply a wonderful place to relax and enjoy life. First the warm welcome by the staff with a nice glass of wine, thanks. Then we were lucky to be upgraded to a beautiful room with a gorgeous view of the gardens and the mountains, thanks so much. The beautiful gardens with a good size pool, the cosy terrace where you can sit and enjoy the gorgeous breakfast, the very beautiful decorated and spacious rooms - all this makes WedgeView a perfect place to stay. The staff is really helpfull, and we were looked well after all the time.
The location is just perfect, close to Stellenbosch and the many vineyards to visit. Will highly recommend WedgeView for both a few nights but also for a longer period.
