The Hoedjiesbaai Hotel, partially built into the water, offers a magnificent view of the tranquil bay of Saldanha and surrounding environs. The hotel was built in 1970 and decorated in a retro style with modern fixtures. We have 32 rooms where the rooms on the second floor have private balconies. The rooms are en-suite and spacious with options of a double bed or two single beds. Wake up in the heart of the West Coast, to a spectacular sunrise over the water. Spend the day on the beach or take short drives and explore the surrounding towns. The hotel is perfectly located to explore the West Coast. It is 150km from Cape Town International Airport and 7.2 km from the Saldanha Airstrip. The hotel is 10.7km from the West Coast Mall and within walking distance of shopping centres. The Eigebraai Restaurant is situated on the 3rd floor of the hotel with a spectacular 360° view of Saldanha and the harbor. Enjoy the home-made local cuisine with wines from our award winning South African wineries. Our restaurant serves Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner and has its own bar and lounge area for that ideal sundowner. Also on the premise is a Spa, Hair Salon, a Gymnasium, a Ladies Bar on the ground floor and a Function/Conference Room that can host up to 120 people. The Newest addition to the property is the West Coast Mystery Room. It is the first original live puzzle game in the West Coast. You have 60 minutes to unravel the mystery of a hidden room, working as a team of 2-6 to solve a variety of quirky and inventive puzzles to escape. The room was kept very neat and clean, but being located just below the kitchen there were noise from the morning until around 10pm. It was also close to the road and parking area, where noise levels of passing traffic was loud. For some reason the night manager, who travelled by motorcycle, started his machine and let it run for a few minute, revving it up, which also added to the noise continuing even after bedtime.
The food was good, maybe a bit on the expensive side, and the service was friendly but very slow, especially breakfast time. On the last day we decided to have breakfast at another venue to get on the road earlier.

Our stay at the Hoedjiesbaai Hotel in Saldanha exceeded our expectations. My wife and i decided to stay over at the hotel as she had to conduct business on the Tuesday, and what a pleasant surprise. W e were upgraded to a balcony room at no extra cost, and the room and food served in the hotel restaurant was very nice. We will defnitely do it again. David and Barbara Toua

If you're looking for a 5 star hotel with 5 star service then Hoedjies Baai is not the option. The hotel is very standard. The locals visiting the beach may have unsavory language but the view gets a 10 out of 10 rating from me The service was homely and the staff easy to talk to. Being the pandemic, we opted to have meals from the restuarrant via room service. This was all of R10 additional to the bill. The food was absolute value for money and delivery always pleasant and polite.
Thank you to Kercia and Elizabeth for always going the extra mile for your guests. We will definitely be visiting again.

Worthwhile visit and stay at this hotel. Covid 19 protocols were in place. Staff were very friendly from the word go. Good value for money at their restaurant. Chef at breakfast improvised and made me an omlette with chicken filling even though it was not on the menu. The tranquility of the sea sound at night was absolutely soothing and the sea gulls in the morning was refreshing. The interior and rooms is a bit oldish ie carpeted room, ceiling fan instead on an aircondition, but this gave the hotel its own character. Wifi service could improve a bit, but was not a trainsmash, as after the 150mb, you could purchase a voucher. I'll be back!

The bedrooms are very outdated. The bath and toilet has yellow stains and scratches. The furniture (desk, drawers, dresser, etc) is in need of repair. The ceiling fan makes a loud noise all night long which made is difficult to get decent rest. The track cover of the balcony’s sliding door was off and standing inside the room next to the desk. Wifi limited to 150mb, this was a massive hassle since I only booked the room to host a few Last minute Zoom Meetings from. Rooms needs an overall sprucing up. Lobby is pretty nice and views from restaurant is great. Would probably stay at the Protea Hotel down the road next time.

Location, price and staff friendliness superb. The rooms were good. Hover, feel the bathroom require some maintenance, e.g. bath condition and water messing when showering. Some quality required when servicing rooms e.g. check all lights, ensure mugs, tea and coffee are replaced.

Overall stay was good. Room service - food orders takes a bit long so it's cold when it arrives in room.
Sheets/pillow cases was very creased not ironed. Not that crisp clean feeling.
Loved the sea view

We booked in at the hotel on the Friday afternoon. The first thing we noticed was that the remote for the television was out of order. This was reported immediately but never attended to. We then noticed that the wifi signal was extremely weak. This resulted in us having to buy data the entire weekend just to have connectivity. The sliding door on the balcony could not close properly and stayed unlocked during our entire stay. We paid for bead and breakfast and had breakfast on the Saturday morning. When we wanted too go for breakfast on the Sunday morning, we were informed that there will be not breakfast served because they were preparing for father's day lunch. We were never informed of this at any time during our stay. We were then told to order room service instead, which we declined to do. Although the staff was generally friendly, the amenities and condition of the rooms leave much to be desired, considering that the accommodation is not cheap. Apart from a lovely sea view, there was absolutely nothing else to get enjoy or get exited about. We love the West Coast, but this one venue that we will most certainly not be visiting again.

The rooms were great with the sea view. The food were well prepared and delicious. It would be recommended for the hotel management to work on installing showers in all rooms for those officials that are preferring to make use of it.

i was not happy with my stay this time around. we did let the reception know of the noisy person in Room 9 we were in room 10 there is a door between the two rooms the noise coming from the other room was terrible. On my booking I did say I was traveling for work. i really expected a quite room. I left the hotel at 5:30 to go to work and the guy in the nest room was still making a noise.

we have stayed in the hotel once before and we had a lovely time. but this time was terrible.

I feel that when someone is traveling for work they should not be put in with people on holiday. We Got hardly any sleep.

kind regards

Sharon Gerber (Mrs)
