Very old farmhouse and rooms. Owners need to put in a bit more effort like a kettle and coffee making accessories etc at least in each room. Not self catering just a communal braai area which leaves you without anywhere to braai if a large crowd was already using the braai area as was in our case. Nowhere else to prepare food and no restaurants in town which is very limiting. The owners promote that you drive to their restaurant on the way to Elandsbay but it is quite a drive to get there. Some people may enjoy this old place but unfortunately I cannot recommend it.
A beautiful room, immaculate facilities, and a superb host in Mike - our stay was fantastic. The breakfast is a must, and it's so easy to have a braai in the evening - with a well kept fire pit available, along with free wood. It's a retreat that will help restore the soul.
If you love the rugged beauty of the Sandveld and the West Coast, then Redelinghuys offers the most convenient base to explore from. We found the self catering accommodation at Die Sandveld Dorpshuys very relaxed and comfortable. We had a huge "braai" area and swimming pool all to ourselves, with beautiful views from the "stoep" of the sun rising and setting. The beds were comfortable, bedding was fresh and clean, while we enjoyed a big breakfast every morning in the beautiful old historic house. The price was very reasonable for our small family.
What delight to enjoy the hospitality in redlingshuys. Nivan was a star -all ways friendly and helpful. A great getaway even in winter. Will definitely visit again and enjoy the delights of the coffee shop
Great quaint country retreat guest house in Redlinghuys. If you are needing a break away from it all then this is the place. Tranquil setting with lovely garden and great braai area under the most beautiful trees. Great breakfast and wonderful staff. 30 minute drive from Elands Bay.
