My husband and I stayed here in November 2009 and we both could not stop raving about the location and overall experience. Homtini is a little way out of Knysna but well worth the trip as you are able to get away from the business of Knysna itself yet is close enough to drive to. When you arrive at Homtini guest farm you are instantly blown away by the view. Each tented lodge faces over a beautiful valley with no other sign of civilisation around. Megan and Owen are extremely welcoming and can give you tips on things to see and do around the area. Once settled in you get a bottle of fresh cows milk every day as well as access to pick fresh vegies out of the farm garden. We enjoyed a nice healthy braai with fresh spinach and tomatoes when we stayed there.
There is a beautiful bush track which you can follow on the farm. This takes you through the most amazing bushland where you will be entertained by some amazing bird life.
The tented lodge is very comfortable with all the facitlities you could need including a shower, toilet, cooking facilities and really comfortable bed.
We can't wait to stay there again next time we go to South Africa and will definitely refer this place to anyone.
There is also a tented lodge for families so if there is more than 2 of you kids also have a place to stay. There is a pool with a playground for the kids to enjoy.

Our stay was five days long in the Hazel cottage and every day was magnificent!!! This was thanx to awesome views from the balcony while I braai'd (BBQ), very nice hospitality, quietness and the pool with the sauna room. I recommend this accommodation to anyone who is looking for a most amazing stay only a few kilometers from KNYSNA.

This tented accommodation is set in the beautiful forests just outside Knysna. Each tent is privately placed so that you are secluded from your neighbour. Everything is thoughtfully laid out and neat and clean and the staff are discreet and friendly. Some drawers or a shelf or 2 in the tent to unpack the clothes would be a useful touch. We were a bit disturbed in the middle of the night on sat from party revelries in the distance from the small village of Rheenendaal a few kms down the rd but otherwise it was very peaceful. The pool is lovely too and there is a sauna and bike hire. We stayed in the family unit where there was 1 other family unit fairly close to us (but not on top of us). The couples' units are however completely secluded in the bush and all units have marvellous views. Well done Homtini!

We stayed in a couples tent for 2 nights. Our tent (the 1st one) had the most incredible view which made early morning coffee and breafast an absolute treat. The tent was comfortable and the gas weber great. We made use of the lovely sauna but did not get to do the walking trail. Guess we will have to go back! The volunteers on the staff was lovely. We did not meet or see the owners or a manager though..

We booked 2 days before the weekend , they were friendly and helpful, My estimated time of arrival was wrong as we arrived 2 hours later than anticipated and they stayed up for us and showed us our place and we had a very cool time.
We have stayed in the same room 7 years ago and it was the same. i would recommend staying here to everyone for affordable accommodation in Knysna. Lovely place.

We arrived not quite knowing what to expect but Lisa soon got us settled. If quiet and tranquility is what you need then this is the place to stay for a recharge of those city batteries. My only complaint is that we couldn't stay longer. This is near enough to Knysna and all it offers yet remote enough to just sit and read and take in the wonderful views. The chalets are really comfortable and extremely well equipped. Very clean and for a family of four a great place to stay. Lisa and Friederich make a perfect host couple. Look forward to our next stay.

My wife and I were fortunate enough to get a booking in one of the two couples tents at Homtini Guest Farm for the past long weekend. ( 29/04 to 02/05)
The tent was well equipped with a fridge, cupboard containing a full range of quality crockery and cutlery, a double bed and a dining table with two chairs.
Outside, on our deck, was a Weber gas braai, a gas cooker plate, and two camp chairs.
An inter leading section led us to a kitchen sink as well as a shower, toilet and wash basin.
The whole set-up was tastefully done, and comfortable.
The weather was cold, but we had an electric blanket provided, and that made all the difference.
The view from our deck was absolutely awesome, and it was great to wake to the sound of the birds.
The farm also offers two larger "family" tents, as well as two log cabins and a full house for visitors to stay in.
There is a swimming pool, as well as a sauna for guests to use.
There is also an organic veggie garden.
Our host, Frederick, made us feel most welcome, as was the interaction with the rest of the staff.
Definitely worth a visit!!!

I was unfortunately only able to spend 2 nights at this amazing guest farm. The staff were honestly concerned about our safe arrival - special mention must be made of Samantha. Stunning views of the forest and beautiful walking trails, about 20kms outside of knysna but worth the drive.

I will definitely be going again

It's a must to picnic at bibby's hoek, if you don't mind getting your car dirty on gracel roads.

We discovered this little gem of a place quite by accident as we were looking to stay in Knysna for a short 2 night stay. So glad we did as it was probably the most relaxing 2 night stay we have had in a long while. The cottage was immaculate with everything one needs for a self catering stay. A very comfy bed, lovely hot shower and beautiful views ! There is also a fireplace for cold winter nights, and a second bedroom so this is a lovely chalet for a family of 3 or 4. I would thoroughly recommend Homtini. Very short drive into Knysna too.
