This B&B is located just outside Paarl on a quaint olive farm with great view of mountains from the house stoep. Upon arrival we were not even greeted but welcomed by an "we have not received your money" which has been paid upon booking a month prior but their system is flawed.

Outside and inside of house and rooms are dirty, windows very dirty and spider webs everywhere. The wind blew a bit that night which caused the windows and doors all to bang (while closed) which keeps me awake as I sleep quite lightly. The bathrooms are very nice with less spider webs.

Breakfast choice wasn't too much to choose from and warm breakfast was very average. Swimming pool dirty.

I would not stay here again.

My fiance booked this accommodation for us for one night via via booking.com - we simply chose it based on its location relevant to a wedding that we were attending on a Saturday night. We had 20-30 minutes to check in, shower, get dressed and go again - thanks to our hectic travel schedule.

I've stayed at hundreds of B&B's, guest houses and hotels all around the world and this was without a doubt my worst experience. Please don't support this guest house - there are more than enough beautiful and wonderful guest houses around the Western Cape. This one can go back to being an olive farm and stay out of the hospitality industry. Below are a few specific points which all came from only one night.

1) There were a couple of initial points mentioned below, but the deal breaker for us was that there was NO running water in the shower; a real downer when we wanted to shower before going to the wedding. I walked to the reception area to complain and no one was there, I assumed that she had left for the evening. With little time to spare before leaving again I went back to the room to continue getting ready (without showering). When we returned from the wedding we wanted to shower before going to bed, but water was still not working - being midnight we didn't think to call the owner and simply went to bed. In the morning we reached the hostess who was initially non-apologetic until we pushed a bit more. We then showered in a flat adjoined to the property because all the other rooms were occupied. We had to wait for the bathroom to be cleaned before we could go shower.

When checking out I told the hostess and then the owner that I don't expect to pay full price for a room that didn't even have a working shower (I left off the other points) and was met by a "couldn't care less" attitude and a refusal to offer a discount or even apologise. It was our fault that we didn't phone him to complain. After a nice back-and-forth row for the owner who was doing nothing but blaming us and refusing to accept responsibility, we took back our deposit (see below) and left.

2) We were asked what time we wanted to have breakfast - we said 9am. Having stayed at many many B&B's this usually means that we eat at 9am or shortly thereafter. The hostess only asked what we wanted to eat at 9am and we were served at 9:45am, making us late again.

3) I heard later that my fiance was asked to provide the CVV number of our credit card via email to secure the booking. I find this most irregular and inappropriate given that we booked via booking.com which keeps credit card details secure and there should be no need to request this via email - never mind the fact that this exposes us to fraud. Also, there is no mention of this in the terms and conditions that are on the booking.com listing. This was apparently required for a R500 security deposit which ALSO was not mentioned in the Ts&Cs. I don't trust this for a second.

4) No heater was provided; I asked and the hostess said that the air conditioner acts as a heater, but the air con did not heat the room up at all.

5) I asked for an iron, but again, not available

6) There were no towels in our room when we arrived, we asked and the hostess brought us clean towels

A great discovery close to Paarl yet out of the city itself. Quiet and tranquil setting on olive producing farm. Situated on R312 with easy access from N1 via R44 or R302. Comfortable, well appointed and spacious rooms with great breakfasts. Very friendly staff and we'll definitely return there again and again.

We stayed 8 nights over the festive season with my wife and infant child. The atmosphere is peaceful, tranquil and quite. You can access all the beautiful cities in an around the Cape Town Area including Stellenbosch & Paarl. The manager is such a wonderful lady making sure her guest are catered for. Lovely staff as well, polite and friendly. The place is easily accessible and its tar all the way. It’s located at a beautiful olive farm and the pool is lovely. Totally enjoyed my stay.
