My friend and i stayed at Augusta due to its proximity to our farm , with no real expectations of the accomodation , although we know our stay would have been comfortable .
However , it exceeded our expectations....... there was no power for an entire day and the srtaff managed to turn that aspect into an advantage by lighting fires and candles and serviing us the best meal we've had in a long time , whilst discounting our rae in half for the inconvenience of no electricity. Whilst the dinner was subperb , the breakfast was even better , no gourmet food , jut well prepared and well cocoked with a lot of flavour and nourishing .The staff was most professional and freindly , giving us a personalised caring experience .
Augusta Klenbosch will now be our preferred place of stay in the Paarl Drakenstein area.

We spent New Years Eve on Augusta Kleinbosch Guest Farm in Paarl, near Stellenbosch (WESTERN CAPE) and had the most beautiful time there. The food and wine and cider were excellent. We had the Honeymoon Suite and this was the absolute best what we had on our South Africa Tour. The breakfast was delicious and the staff was more then helpful and friendly. We'd love to come back.

A warm sherry welcome by Francois, delicious meal in the restaurant, interesting stories and history told by Francois, friendly staff, comfortable well-appointed rooms, and a lovely breakfast - all this in the most beautiful surroundings of Kleinbosch Guest Farm. My husband and I stayed in the "Hen House" - watched over by chickens and surprise of all - an egg behind my suitcase in the morning! I loved the ambiance and history. Thank you to all for sharing your special place with us.

This guest farm is ideal for guests with a sense of atmosphere and history. Kleinbosch was the place where Afrikaans first began to be formalized as a written and printed language; and the place has wonderful established trees and plantings, with a crystal clear stream running through the middle. We and our friends had a good stay here, and enjoyed the dinner and breakfast served to us. The room my wife and I slept in had a wonderfully old-fashioned feel, created by its four-poster bed and very high ceiling. (It was originally a schoolroom in the 19th C. teaching establishment housed in this building.) The only negative was a group of people housed upstairs above us who began clumping around, talking and making a noise from 3.30 a.m. until daybreak at 6 a.m.

The best accommodation I've ever stayed at - and I often go on business trips. Hospitality, highly functioning reception and staff, amidst floods - will never be forgotten. I was moved to another room when there was a crisis (end August 2013). My personal belongings were transferred in my absence. NO problem whatsoever. No arrangement or assistance was too much for the staff. I needed tranquility and peace after work and couldn't have asked for better. The historical environment and making the property's history available to me was a bonus!

Not recommended for business clients. Key problems when booking in and confusion about which room is mine, was not a good start. No hot water, later found out that they have forgotten to switch on the geyser. Warning was extended to me to keep alll valuables on me, as guests are being watched by drug (money) searching people from nearby when leaving the room. No tv in the room. Definitely not what I've expected from a 4 star guesthouse. Alarm also went off the one night. Food was however very good.

Dear Future Guests 1. There was confusion with the keys, since we had a storm, and the designated room for our guest was flooded. 2. There was hot water, our guest did not know that the knob works the other way around. 3. She only informed us about the "cold" water upon departure and did not give us the opportunity to help. 4. We do not have burglar alarms, we do have alarms, we have security on the premises like most guest houses. Not one of our staff would EVER scare our guests telling tales like people watching you for drug money. It is sad that someone would want to damage a business making such wild accusations. 5. We do have a television and recreational room in the Main House, for the guest who would really like to watch television. 90% of our guests enjoy nature, and do not require television in their rooms.

We loved the Augusta Kleinbosch lodge - we stayed for 2 nights in December and wished we had stayed for longer as it was so beautiful and relaxing. The start was stressful as our flight was delayed by four hours meaning we were arriving late in the dark. Thank goodness the signs once we got off the N2 were good and the team waited up for us and were so helpful - the lovely wine available in our room soon relaxed us and sitting out on the terrace with a glass in countryside was very relaxing. We stayed in the Hen House - beautifully decorated room with a seating area inside and a huge bedroom with massive bed, fridge & honesty bar but no TV. Only the shower room was small. The best thing was the food & the staff - breakfasts were lovely but staying for the 3 course dinner was superb and made even better by the lovely staff. As long as you don't mind a place a bit out of town then this will really appeal. highly recommended!

We found this gem in Paarl on the internet which is always risky. So we were quite anxious to see it ! What we found is a genuinely family-friendly but stylish and well equipped accommodation ! When we arrived our three year old was asleep in the car, and the manageress immediately got him a blanket and showed us his bed before worrying about anything else ! The rooms are beautifully restored old buildings with very comfortable beds and a very nice and big bathroom. The farm is a working farm, but at a small scale, and there is a vineyard and a dam to wander around and enjoy the magnificent views of the Paarl mountains. But the best discovery was the restaurant on the property. Not only was it so close to our room that we could just put our child to bed and enjoy a quiet dinner in the garden, but the chef and the staff were absolutely amazing. The food is sophisticated and the service is super friendly. There is a pool and a large lawn which is perfect for kids. Finally, the dogs mentioned in one of the earlier reviews are not a nuisance at all and a very friendly addition to the whole atmosphere. When you drive there don't believe Google Maps or Garmin, they have the wrong coordinates. Use the directions the farm sends you when you book.

Being constantly on the travel for many years - booking into all sorts of guest houses and hotels - I can only mention that visiting Augusta Kleinbosch Guest Farm has always been a very pleasant experience for me - a beautiful and peaceful environment, and friendly staff around. Yet, some people will always find something to moan about - maybe they should stay home and enjoy all the luxuries in and around their "5 star houses". I'll be back again, thats for sure.
