I cannot speak highly enough of the hosts, they worked to make sure every aspect of my stay was as close to perfect as possible. Unfortunately, I am a light sleeper and was disturbed by sound from the major road down hill from the property. Even so, fpr the average sleeper, this is unlikely to be a bother. There was some challenge with consistency of hot water supply affecting some rooms due likely to the instant hot water systems in use. The owners are aware of this and are looking at a work-around. This property was really a home away from home, friendly and very supportive. My stay was a pleasure and I recommend travellers consider this accommodation when visiting Paarl. You are sure to leave with the owners as best friends.

This is delightful guesthouse a short drive from the centre of Paarl. Located up a drive through the gardens in a fairly quiet spot.
We were just off a long overnight flight into CapeTown so really appreciated relaxing on the shaded sunbeds next to the pool.
Solar and battery backup to cover load shedding
Our room was large (Deluxe King Room), very comfortable and well equipped. The bed was extremely comfortable and the shower powerful with loads of hot water all of the time.
Breakfast was great and enjoyed on the terrace, honestly bar very handy and price reasonable.
The real highlight was our lovely host Jolanda who could not do enough for us. Her days out and restaurant choices were spot on. We visited the beach on one day and even lent us a beach umbrella and seat which was really appreciated

Nuwerus Lodge is conveniently located in a quiet rural area, on the outskirts of Paarl, close to the N1 road, and with easy access to a large Mall.
The rooms are located around an attractive garden and wooded area, with open patios at the front of each unit. The rooms are large, with modern facilities and comfortable, large beds. They are serviced daily and kept very clean.
Breakfast is taken in the attractive, main building, or on the outside patios, overlooking the garden and pool. There is a good choice of fruit, cereals, cold table and cooked breakfast, served by the very friendly and helpful hostess.
The large onsite parking is secure, and accessed via an automatic entrance gate

The Lodge has large, well equipped rooms, with large, comfortable beds set in attractive gardens, with a small pool. Breakfast is taken in a large ,attractive room, overlooking the garden or on a balcony. The breakfast has a large choice of fruit, cereals and yogurt, from the buffet, and fruit juice, tea and coffee There is also a good choice of very nice cooked breakfast, cooked to order and served fresh. The management and staff are very friendly and helpful It is probably my favorite guest house in South Africa.

Jolande is a wonderful host, she really made us feel welcome and showed us around on arrival. The room was a decent size, there was space for the kids and us without us feeling on top of each other, and the setting was much better than the images on Booking conveyed (so much bigger a property and with lots of different garden features/areas.
Our room had tea and coffee making facilities and a good sized fridge.
The main surprise was not being able to walk into town, I thought from the map it looked like it was possible, but it's actually on the outskirts of Paarl, near the main road (and you can hear the road noise, unfortunately).
It was a bit tricky getting an Uber as it was a very busy Fri night, but we did manage to make the reservation Jolande very kindly made for us at Jackson & Black (excellent place😊, great for pork, ribs and breaded chicken!).
Overall, we were pleasantly surprised by the lodge, the pool was nice to swim in, the gardens were lovely and the breakfast was superb, we didn't get the best sleep due to road noise and fidgety squirrels on the roof, but it was a lovely stop off for a night on the way to Franschhoek. My daughter particularly loved Nuwerus due to the sweet rescue dog, Tessa, who came and licked her hand, despite being timid.

Located at the outskirts of Paarl this guesthouse is located at the entrance of the farm. Stayed here fir three nights with my family . Overall stay was great , hospitality by Jolande ditto and Paarl city centre aa well aa Stellenbosch and Franschhoek within easy reach . Nice warm and cold breakfast . The room was very comfortable. Toilet separated from shower area with a door - great for privacy while a partner can still use the shower facility. Using the gas shower takes some practice, but great to always have hot water, even when there is no electricity. Guest house has a generator which is really great during load-shedding. Breakfast was ample and tasty. Security was good.

Nuwerus Lodge Paarl was very welcoming. We had a great short stay in Paarl. Breakfast was great and the heated blankets were a nice touch as it can get a bit chilly in SA in July. We enjoyed the wood fire in the common room, very cosy.

I found Nuwerus Lodge when frantically looking for accommodation on the internet for a small group of 60 and over 60-year-old school friends. The venue had to have stunning views, beautiful rooms, and the little spoils we all have gotten use to at home and on our travels. Nuwerus did not disappoint on any level. You can watch the many squirrels from your bedroom window, frolicking in the beautiful garden. Situated in a convenient location near the town of Paarl and many wine farms. If you love to braai, this is your place to stay. There is an honest bar and HUGE fridge right by the braai. You can also bring your own drinks to the braai area. Also, the swimming pool is right there. Peace, Tranquility and Stunning Views. Book now!
