The story of Wildepaardejacht is the story of a South African president, who fell in love with a Greek girl. The Greek-born Elita bought the farm in 1994 to be closer to the former South African President de Klerk, and later the two lived together on the breathtaking beautiful vinefarm. Elita slowly transformed Wildepaardejacht into a working wine and fruit farm, with a stylish restored house in the traditional cape dutch style with whitewashed walls and curved gables. Today the danish family Moller Madsen from Praesto run the farm. The Danes have made a beauty full bed'n breakfast of Wildepaardejacht, and there is the possibility to rent a single room, a guest house for the family or the entire farm for a special event. When you visit Wildepaardejacht, you are checking in on an active vinefarm. The workers is buzzing between vines and lemon trees, grapes are transported from the farm to the production, and the housekeeper Yvonne is managing the kitchen and the rooms. You have the possibility to getting into the field and pick the grapes, which later becomes wine, or take a walk in the raw nature around the farm. Wildepaardejacht is in the heart of South Africa's wine country with quaint towns like Stellenbosch and Franschhoek, and the city of Cape Town is just an hour's drive from the farm. So just below the impressive Klein Drakensstein mountains just outside Paarl is a historical hidden jewel. We would love to invite you inside for endless relaxation among vineyards, olive groves and lemon trees. Spend the night in the presidential suite, or take a walk on over 80 acres of presidents, kings and nobelprisvinderes footsteps. We would be delighted to welcome you.

I have never experienced such incredible personal treatment and comfort at an establishment which describes itself as B&B! It is far, far beyond this & under Hotel ratings it is 5 star. The owners, Wayne & Eddie go way beyond your expectations. The location is superb, the numerous walks idyllic and the efficiency, friendliness & service from the staff equals 5 star treatment. Great breakfast every morning as well. We also received excellent recommendations to restaurants nearby - all of which proved very good. Just loved sitting next to the pool watching the spectacular mountains particularly in the setting sun giving a romantic red glow. High, highly recommended but book well in advance. This place will book out quickly. We’ll certainly return. Thank you Wayne & Eddie for your kindness & superb hospitality & good luck in the future. You richly deserve it!

Visited this farm and wow. The location is one of the best ever.walks and views to die for. The room was a good size and was very clean.Fridge in room and no TV. but other rooms have TVS if you need one. Wi fi is great plenty of walking or just rest.you can do a drive around the other wine farms if you want. There is a lovely wine celler to look at. The farm produces it's own wine and the new owners are lovely. This is a 5 star location the mounting views are outstanding.and you also get a good breakfast. We will be back. If we can get a room because this place will get lots of bookings.Good luck to the new owners.

My wife and I have just got back from a stay at Wildepaardejacht (literally "wild horses chasing" - a reference to the noise of the water racing over the stones in the little river), and it was simply the highlight of our trip.
This is a working farm, with Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinotage, Syrah, Chardonnay and Chenin Blanc (including some marvellous "bush vines"), as well as fruit orchards. But it's also an amazing B&B - small, with generously sized rooms and an atmosphere of incredible relaxation.
We were very fortunate to spend a great deal of time with the couple who are to become the new owners - Eddie and Wayne. These guys are already very successful and boy, do they know about hospitality! And they were so knowledgeable, and such great fun. Nothing, but nothing, was too much trouble, and they talked with such enthusiasm and excitement about the future of this incredible property. We spent a couple of nights sharing drinks with them and the other guests, and can honestly say we had the time of our lives.
Words alone cannot describe the incredible beauty of this farm. It. Is. Spectacular. I mean, in the sense that your jaw drops as you enter the gates, down the avenue of trees, and watch the whole place unfold before your eyes. Please, please go. We absolutely LOVED it!
I think that Eddie and Wayne will make a huge success of this. We will, without any doubt, be back to see!

An unbelievable and exquisite place, with brilliant and friendly staff and owners. I don't have enough good things to say about the venue and the owners and staff, and I couldn't recommend staying there more. Absolutely top notch all round. A really special and beautiful place.

Where ever you turn your eyes will be very pleased. We were there for 2 nights but could easily have stayed longer and are already thinking of when we can return. The service and hospitality is above and beyond. Food (breakfast) and their wines are delicious.

This place was unbelievable. Such a beautiful location with fantastic hosts and hospitality.
After a long week touring it was awesome to drive up to Wildepaardejacht and be able to fully relax. The rooms, terraces, pool and vineyards were amazing - it's hard to put into words the perfection.
Kirsten spent a lot of time making sure we were happy and getting to know us, we really felt so welcome and at home, we could've stayed forever!
The breakfast was great, lots of choice of fresh foods and juices, enough to keep us going until dinner.
If you book here you will not be disappointed - make sure you stay for a few nights to make the most of the peace and tranquility!

"You are welcome to share the terrace with other guests. We brought a bottle of wine and preserved meats for an impromptu evening get together. Others brought cheese and wine. It was quite lovely and we met many people from Europe. Do walk the vineyards and sample the grapes there. Ask Kristen to book a private tour of Mr. Mandela' prison house nearby, where President de Klerk and Mr. Mandela worked to end Apartheid."
