We spent six days in the winelands and chose Temple Wines guest house as our home base and to orient ourselves to the whole region. This was mostly serendipity, but it made our trip so special. Our hosts Tom & Tanya were amazing. The bed and in-room amenities are terrific and born of years of business travel by road-warrior Tom. We had the double room with garden view (connected to the winery and breakfast room). It was so spacious and well appointed. The Charlotte Rhys toiletries, USB plugs and powerful hot shower would put many five star hotels to shame. While all the other nearby reviews brag about the breakfast (they are all TRUE) but I will only add that we enjoyed the fun & lively chat with Tom and Tanya over coffee most. The pool is wonderful and the wine was great too. We are saving the large format Sorgvry (1.5 L) for a special dinner one night soon. This was our favorite wine and quite interesting as its 100% Cinsaut matured in a cement egg for 12 months. This place is a hidden gem and a perfect example of why its so fun to travel the world with a wine glass. Wine people are the best people.

Room Tip: All the rooms are great, but the Double near its own pool looked very nice

Hello, We had the chance to be warmly welcomed by Tom & Tanya at Tempel Wines during our trip to SA. Tempel Wines has been one of our most beautiful experience around Cape Town; the farm is just perfectly located between Mountains and Vineyards... which makes the place and the trip itself very unique (compared to other Vineyards we have visited in the same area). Tom & Tanya walked us through their wines, the way they made it etc... Super interesting and it's great to have the chance to do "educated" by experts. "Cherry on the cake" ; your hosts will also cook for you probably the best croissants you will ever get (and as a French; I can tell I have tested many of them ;-)... Rooms were super clean and the service just perfect. Long story short; if you are next to CT for a wine tour, do not miss the opportunity to spend some time in Tempel Wines; a MUST ! All the best Maxence

If you find yourself in the area then this is a must. Not only was Tom & Tanya fantastic hosts (A lovely welcome where we got to sample some of their gorgeous wines, great recommendations as well as arranging the reservations, fabulous breakfast every morning). The accommodation was beautiful and finished to a very high standard. Setting was stunning with a beautiful pool. Also great to see the goings on in the Winery. This really is somewhere you have to visit!

It is a small family run business with personal approach towards the guests. It feels like home away from home. We were warmly welcomed by Tom and Tanya, and they made us feel like royalty during our stay. The rooms were impeccably clean, the property was very nice and cosy with limited guests only, and the breakfast was amazing. Tom and Tanya are fantastic hosts. We will definitely be back!

Stayed just one night.Fabulous hosts who meet your need even before you identified it.Enjoyed a swim at dawn.Watch out for the motion alarm outside the kitchen!! Thanks for the coffee by the pool to kickstart my morning.Breakfast perfect and just 10 mins to Paarl by car.We had a special socket in the winery room that accommodates most foreign plugs.Really handy.Their dogs are big and I tend to be nervous but no fear from these gentle giants.Idylic place
