Well equipped chalets with crisp bedding. I found the kitchen appliances and crockery suitable for larger cooking (not just heating up). Not a speck of dust found! We could use the braai area on the stoep despite terrible weather. Take your own BBQ tools and some insect repellant. Lovely place for kids/families. Make sure to visit the river, what a beautiful sight! The quaint town of Franschhoek is just a few minutes' drive, also a must visit. Will definitely return.

Chalet was very clean and well appointed. Outside the chalet was a jungle gym and our kids had a great time playing. A number of pools on the property also make it perfect for children to enjoy if the weather is hot. Management was very helpful and accommodating.

The chalet is well located, close to Franschhoek town, to museums, to restaurants in the area.
Great activities like swimming pool, and each chalet has a convenient braai facility. The rooms are comfortable, and has a practical layout.
Really good value for money accommodation.

Camped over the weekend, facilities were excellent, but excessive noise 2 nights on the go, it was horrific. Politely asked the owners to speak to the group. 2nd nyt even worse. We were by the river and could still hear the music by the swimming pool. I will never use the facility again

Hollandsche Molen is a lovely holiday destination. The chalet manager was so friendly and helpful, which started the holiday on the right footing. The pools are lovely and I saw lots of Braai facilities, so everything is just geared towards the customers satisfaction.

A good stop off for a family attending a wedding in Franschhoek. Excellent play area for our little grandson. Basic cottages but clean and comfortable with good facilities. Good value. Very helpful staff at reception.

My family and I were basically turned away, we got the cold shoulder from the lady at the front kiosk for asking why we could not be members. I have not been to the chalets and was looking forward to enjoying the day at the pools with my family, but after the racist attitude of the woman and man at the front I will not be coming back.

What an unexpected surprise!

We drove up to spend the day (on 13 December 2015) with some family spending the week there. I've never heard of this place before, yet lived in the Cape my whole life.

The pool was clean, large and not too deep (according to my kids). The river pools were lovely too, and we relaxed by the pools, had a lovely braai.

Took a stroll to the river. Such clear water!!! Beautiful. I watched everyone swim though lol.

The homes there are cute, but what I loved most were the flowers and fruit trees. Tasty, juicy organic fruit bursting from the trees! Reminds me what fruit tasted like when I was growing up☺
And the residents were so sweet to allow my kids to pick some plums and lemons.

A bit pricey for a day visit, but will definitely go again👍

I will never go back there. Manager quoted us R190pp for camping for the weekend, when we got there, the price was R300pp - so we ended up paying R1200 for camping for 2 nights (2 adults and 2 kids under 5)!! Sites are very small and cramped. Lots of day visitors. The pools were dirty.I will never recommend this to anyone - worst camping experience we've ever had.

Response from Nina d, Manager at De Hollandsche Molen
Responded 18 Feb 2016
Good day "TannieJan" Thank you very much for taking the time to review our property. Your input, and the feedback from all of our guests is vitally important to us and we always want guest expectations to be met upon arrival. Per your comments, we do apologise that there was a mistake made by our reservations team. The correct documentation was sent through to you at first, where you would have seen the rates quoted, but unfortunately he sent you the incorrect confirmation template which caused the confusion. I have addressed this situation to ensure that it does not happen in the future. Normally guests requests a specific campsite nr when making a reservation. If guests have not visited the property before, we try and allocate the best site that we still have available. Some of our sites are smaller than others and we sincerely apologize if you did not know this in advance. Please reach out to me directly at duplooynina@gmail.com if you would be willing to give us a chance to turn your experience around. It would be such a pleasure to personally welcome you back to our campsite. With much appreciation Management

The resort itself is well managed, everything about the resort is excellent, we spent a weekend at the resort 1 Nov - 3 Nov, the olympic size swimming pool is very refreshing, there are 4 more swimming pools,a bar and a shop, it's a lovely spot for a picnic / braai "green green
grass" great for families with little ones. One can rent a camping spot or a holiday house directly from the owners. We rented a house in Mossielaan which is about 300m away from the picnic area. I'll definitely go back to the resort but will not rent the same house (No 175 Mossielaan) as I found the house to be unhygienic and have taken it up with the owner.
