Many activities can be enjoyed in and around town, from visiting Wine Farms for leisurely lunches and wine tasting, to hiking in the Paarl Mountain, driving to surrounding valleys through the mountain passes for fantastic views. Travel by tram to nearby Franschhoek, visit farms on the way. Alba House is 4 star graded. We offer 4 king size rooms, which can be converted to twin rooms. Ivana was a lovely host. She welcomed us so kindly inside her beautiful home, also giving us wonderful recommendations of what to do and where to go in the area. The garden and view are just beautiful and so colourful. Our bed and room was very comfortable and the atmosphere was calm and relaxing. The big pool in the beautiful, lush garden is GREAT! Ivana's breakfast was delicious. We'll definitely be back!!

Highly recommended for anyone preferring smaller, private establishments. 4 star graded. Quiet residential area, beautiful garden and salt water swimming pool. Safe, shady parking. The rooms are good size, large beds and en suite bathrooms. Patio seating with private entrances. Comfortable guest’s lounge with views to the mountains. Delicious breakfast offered, good choice to suit everyone. Paarl is a historical winelands town with much to visit, lovely architecture, good restaurants, many famous wineries and nature.

We stayed 2 nights here and loved it. We dont normally stay in B&B's but since there are so few hotels in Paarl we booked this highly rated B&B...SO thankful we did! The owner (Ivana) made our visit perfect. She was helpful and informative but not overbearing, just an incredibly wonderful person. The room was clean, bed was awesome, we had our own patio, pool was beautiful, and the breakfast was lovely! Wish we could have stayed long we really loved it.

I was truly disappointed with this establishment. After a long day on the road, I checked in to find that the fridges in the rooms had been disconnected and there were no cold beverages available from the honesty bar. The view from the lounge area is beautiful but that is the only positive of my experience. The breakfast consisted of one egg and two rashers of bacon which certainly didn't come close to satisfying my morning hunger. If an establishment uses one-ply toilet paper, this is an indication for me! For the price the establishment charges, one would certainly expect a few benefits!! Sorely disappointed!!

We had booked several months in advance for my elderly mother at Alba B&B. As were all part of a wedding party we passed on the name of Alba to friends and family who subsequently also booked at Alba for a few nights. On the Monday before the Easter Weekend I was sent an email to inform me that my mother's room was needed for the owners family who were making a surprise visit and they therefore had to cancel her booking and refund the deposit. This greatly inconvenienced us as we now had to find alternative accommodation for my mother with such short notice and who would now have to stay all alone. The owners were not particularly apologetic nor helpful in the email in providing suggestions for alternative accommodation. We find this entirely unprofessional and were shocked by this last minute cancellation leaving my mother in a very uncertain and stressful position.

I booked 2 rooms for December with 2 rounds of golf also arranged. Upon arrival we were shown to our "room" if you can call it that by the housekeeper. The owners John and Ivana were apparently away for the duration of our visit. Our double room was more like a converted garage or basement storage room full of old mismatching furniture with stains. We didn't even have a duvet on our bed - just a sheet and some sort of fake fur blanket - it looked like the whole room was a dumping ground for all their old bits and pieces - not at all how the rooms look on the website. The whole place had a slightly unclean and unloved feeling to it. The shower basin took forever to drain which might have been helped if the hair from previous guests had been cleaned from the broken drainage area. Breakfast was very unexciting and even the "fresh" fruit salad had frozen blueberries sitting on top. Again when looking round the kitchen floor and units it had a slightly dated and unclean look to it.
I have to say the housekeeper was very nice and helpful but I felt unable to complain about the quality of the room as the owners were nowhere in sight.
The second room I booked for a friend traveling with us was a little better but the wifi connection didn't work in that room and the housekeeper of course couldn't help to fix that.
For the golf package just small complaints - the offer of a loan of trolleys and drinks to be provided for the rounds did not materialise.
All in all, more effort should be put into the cleanliness and general appearance of the rooms to bring them up to the standard their website shows.

You make comments that are insulting and totally inaccurate. We find it astonishing that you comment on the private areas of our home. You were a party of three who stayed at Alba house, and one of your friends thoroughly enjoyed their stay and wrote in our Guest Book " thank you for a wonderful stay at your beautiful home, we enjoyed every minute of it. Breakfast was Devine. Hope to see you soon" Our web site is constantly updated and reflects the property as it is updated. We apologies that you were not give the trolleys and cool drinks for your golf. My husband and I spent three wonderful days at the Alba House in Paarl in November 2012. Initially, we planned only to stay for 2 days but were fortunately able to extend our stay to 3 nights. Ivana and John are great hosts who run a wonderful B&B. We stayed in the Superior Double Room which has a stunning view of the mountains and is lovely decorated. The breakfasts which Ivana prepared where really delicious and included everything you want to have for a great start into the day. John and Ivana recommended different trips within the area e.g. to visit the Paarl Mountain or other places in the Winelands which we really enjoyed. Paarl was the perfect point to start these day trips and even Cape Town is just a 40 minutes drive. Next time, we come back to South Africa, we definitely come back to stay again at the Alba House. Thanks for the lovely time; it has been a great part of our honeymoon.

Great location, friendly host. Breakfast is really good.. parking is a bit of an issue, and the rooms are extremely close to each other, so you will hear things thru the walls.
Host gave us some good recommendations for dinner.

This accommodation is perfectly located, the house is lovely, rooms very clean and comfortable. The garden is absolutely wonderful and naturally large swimming pool. The view from living room is marvellous overlooking garden and nearby mountains. Breakfast perfect, you may even ask for specials like home baked bread, bacon butty etc. Strongly recommended
