The view from our cottage at Bona Vista is immaculate... Imagine... braai with a view! The cottage had an open plan kitchen with doors to the porch and braai area - very practical for keeping an eye on the kids, whether they are playing inside or outside on the lawn. It's location is ideal for anyone wanting to enjoy our beautiful South African landscape. I would recommend Bona Vista to anyone!

Staying at Bona Vista feels good! The cottage we stayed in is modern and well equipped, very neat and clean. There is a large fridge/freezer and a microwave, lots of crockery and cutlery and a table inside as well as outside on the stoep. The hosts are really friendly and helpful, and even offered to bring us a braai if we desired to have a bbq. Very close to Paarl and Stellenbosch, and also many wine farms and restaurants in the vicinity. Highly recommended.

We urgently needed clean, fresh, self-catering accommodation while doing maintenance in our home. Bona Vista was our haven of calm for a week and gave us a home while ours was turned upside down (or so it felt). It is a luxury hotel suite with a farm view! Best shower ever!

Delightful, Super Clean, Private, Enjoyable,
Beautiful farm setting with chickens, horses and lots of birdsong.

Perfectly situated between Paarl and Stellenbosch and only minutes from the N1, but feels like countryside.

I could work on the wifi and sometimes took my meetings into the garden for some fresh air. Amazing sunrises and sunsets.

Thank You Risa and Theunis, we appreciate our time spent on your beautiful farm.

We booked on the day after missing our flight, our cottages were immaculate and had everything you needed. The farm is peaceful and exactly what I needed, we asked for a braai and before we got there it had been delivered with starters wood etc. what a wonderful experience and true value for money. A huge thanks must go to the owners for making our overnight stay such a pleasure.

All the previous comments about this lovely working farm retreat are all true and more.
Rooms are spacious, absolutely clean, well equipped and if you require a braai or BBQ, they will have it ready complete will utensils, fuel and starters. WiFi avalabe and I rang Riza to ask where is the nearest swimming pool that we can go too on a hot day, without hesitation she said we can use her house pool. Sitting in the pool overlooking the valley with the mountains in the background, The Pearl of Paarl.
And JP the son brought us a small basket of the fruit they grow on the farm, very delicious

Bona Vista is an accommodation on a working farm in the Paarl Valley. From there, many attractive destinations are an hour or less away; from Cape Town, Vineyards, parks and hiking trails, to name a few. The setting is spectacular. It was almost enough to sit in the garden amongst the blooming jacarandas and just take in the scenery.
The picture of one of the accommodations posted by Risa and Theunis Uys shows the style of the rooms accurately. We stayed in a unit just like the one in the picture and it suited our purposes as an HQ for excursions in wine country and beyond perfectly.
However, as good as the physical attributes of the place were, the excellent hospitality of Risa and Theunis deserves special mention. Despite their management of a sizable farm and other enterprises, they were always available to assist us generously. They are wonderful people and I hope we have opportunity to see them again someday.

My family and I were looking for somewhere to stay for the night after attending a wedding at a nearby vineyard during a visit to South Africa from the UK when we were luckily booked into the Bona Vista by a friend from Cape Town. Set amongst the beautiful surroundings of this part of the Western Cape, Bona Vista offers extremely comfortable accommodation in a lovely bucolic setting at a price that would be hard to match in the Europe. Yet despite its rural location, the rooms were spotlessly clean and fully equipped with everything you could possibly need including electric blankets which, being as our stay was on a particularly wet, cold night in August, were very much appreciated. Our only disappointment was that we were only booked in for one night and would gladly have stayed for longer if we'd only known about it sooner. Quite honestly, we couldn't recommend Bona Vista and its hosts more strongly and will definitely come again if ever we return to SA. (Walder family from London)

My wife and I stayed at Bona Vista for the fifth time now in December. If you like it cozy, clean, well-kept, tranquil and especially super friendly and helpful: this is the place to be! All the reviews for this great gem and its lovely owners Risa and Theunis speak for themselves. We only can confirm all the positive statements and and hereby would like to thank Risa and Theunis so much for letting us feel so much at home and being friends with such great people like you now. We will always come back and stay with you when visiting the Western Cape again. All the best for your and for your great family!
