Originally the family's farmhouse, La Plume is now a 5 Star lodge with beautiful rooms and a good restaurant. The owners also run an ostrich farm, so this is a great opportunity to join one of their tours. Our suite was extremly spacious and we also enjoyed the nice pool, overlooking beautiful Little Karoo.

Exquisitely decorated hotel with very generous rooms. The staff make you feel like you are at home but with exceptional service. The food was about as good as you will ever eat. My kids and I had the ostrich and my wife went for chicken; they were all excellent (even the chicken which I thought sounded a pretty tame thing to order). The pool made for a wonderful end to a day of exploring ostrich farms, wildlife reserve and the Cango caves. We didn’t want to leave but duty calls!

Beautiful room with a wonderful view of the surrounding countryside and distant mountains. Lovely and quiet area, situated on working ostrich farm. Breakfast and evening meals were presented and served to an excellent standard. Spa facility available but not used. Pool and surrounding area could have been a little more presentable but that is the only minor criticism. Everything else was spot on and a great location for our road trip. Would definitely stay again and highly recommend if looking to explore the local area for a day or two.

We stayed like most others whilst on the beautiful Garden Route. Its a Victorian building with all the little touches you would expect from a building of this age. Silver platters etc. It has a large gravelled car park, and our rooms were immediately to the right of the the main reception and were very quaint. Everywhere was spotless and you dont have to eat Ostrich if you dont want too, but I would recommend it. There is a small pool to relax next too at the end of a days adventures.

We were on a tour of the Western Cape and regret that we only spent one night here , the Hotel has got it right on so many levels , from Checkin (Sharon was so nice ) , the room was stunning .. we did opt for the luxury room . Dinner in the restaurant was superb and for us very good value for money ! Not just value but excellant food . We also did the Ostrich farm tour which was done by the farm owner ! Well worth the time . If you have time take to road to Prince Albert it has to be one of the best drives I have done ! The road isn’t tarmac but it was fun if your ok with heights
