Colonial elegance, modern convenience The Queen's Hotel is an oasis of colonial elegance and wired modern convenience in the heart of Oudtshoorn - the capital of the beautiful semi-arid Klein Karoo. Finished in 1880, this grand dame of South African hoteliery has recently been restored to her full original beauty and continues to offer sumptuous accommodation, service and dining that is reminiscent of a bygone era but driven by dynamic modern hotel management.

We arrived in the early evening after booking online. The place was empty! We rang the bell, shouted, phoned the after hours number. NOBODY! We had to find another place to stay, NO apology received. DO NOT RECOMMEND

Neat, well kept facility and friendly service. The hotel is well located close to the centre of town. Food was also good and restaurant was specially opened for our group. The hotel has a lot of character and is an asset for Oudtshoorn.

The hotel is not very busy due to COVID restrictions, but the staff at reception are all very friendly. Beds are very comfortable and a good breakfast was available at the Cafe. We hope that the place will be very busy again soon.

The hotel has a lot of history so that was loevky to see. The staff were super friendly and helpful. We had dinner at the restaurant and my Karoo Lamb was delicious. The pool unfortunately was not blue/clear so we didn't swim, which we would have loved to do.

We enjoyed our stay. We were welcomed with a great smile and our room was neat and clean. We opted to eat dinner in the Hotel restaurant but didn't realize we would be the only once. A recommendation to rather leave the hotel restaurant closed if no other families will also be enjoying dinner.
