We spent 2 nights here on our way to Cape Town. It's old colonial style and as a previous reviewer said, everything squeaks! We had the place to ourselves the first night and felt right at home. There's great space outside to relax, chickens and Guinea Fowl to keep you company, a comfy lounge and not a lot else to do but relax. Special mention for Cynthia who will do everything to make your stay memorable. We don't normally do B&B's but will do in future if we can find more like this!

We chose the Yotclub in Oudtshoorn for our 41st matric reunion for two reasons: it is owned and run by a classmate and her husband and it can accommodate 16 people. Well 10 out of 10 to Liz and Des - a warm welcome, great accommodation and the best breakfasts EVER. We never did get to see the otters (hiding) but plenty bird life made up for it. Centrally situated, we were able to walk to the shops. There's no doubt our first choice will be the Yotclub next year!

We booked at Yotclub, which was amazing the last time we visited about 3 years ago. Since then the owners have changed and are not your typical friendly B&B hosts.

Please be very aware when booking your room online through their website that the twin room with private bathroom is not en-suite and has no air con. It was belting hot in that room and all we had was a small fan. They are not transparent with their booking info- ie we expected air con at least...We were unhappy with our room not being en-suite and no air con but the hosts were less than gracious in sorting it out, In fact they were rude. We did thankfully get moved to another room - room change fee R250 :(.

The only saving grace is Cynthia, the hardworking & friendly lady that keeps the place going and was happy to help wherever she could.

In essence, it's still a nice B&B but beware when booking your room and don't expect much from the foreign owners.

A straightforward B&B run by a friendly and helpful family who were able to advise on local attractions and where to eat. Breakfast served outside on the veranda and garden terrace overlooking a lovely lawn down to a small river, with bird hide.

Right in town but set on the river with a gorgeous garden with a pool and lots of birds flitting by, very quiet. Winnfrid, your host is super helpful about local info and the breakfast is to die for! Home made bread, all manner of fruit, cake, and you can have ostrich egg if you'd like. We wish we had stayed longer! One of the highlights of our trip. Great value.

Looking for a guest house on our way from Knysna, we just picked one of the many guesthouses in Oudtshoorn - actually we live on a yacht and "Yotclub" sounded interesting.
What we found was a neat and clean traditional house in a quiet side street but located within walking distance from several restaurants. It has a beautiful garden with a view of the mountains and a little pool for a quick dip. There is a nice verandah - if you feel like having a drink take a wine/beer/softdrink from the shared fridge (on an honesty basis) and enjoy the sunset or a bit of shade during the day.
Rooms are spotless and beds good - we got the last room available, which was the smallest (#3), but has the nicest bathroom.
In the morning there was a sumptuous breakfast buffet with a choice of breads and rolls (including a fabulous home-baked wholemeal bread!), very nice cheeses, cold cuts, yoghurt, freshly made fruit salad, cereals - plus you are offered a cooked breakfast (ostrich egg on request!).

Staff were extremely friendly and attentive as were the owners.

Excellent value for money and absolutely recommendable.

In short: a place worth staying. And so we did - we changed our itinerary and extended the stay!

We had a wonderful stay at the Yotclub. Everything was excellent from the warm welcome we received to the excellent breakfast in the morning. Our room was gorgeous with plenty of space, lovely shower and tea and coffee making facilities. We had our own little patio, ( we chose the Honeymoon Suite ) and the most wonderful view down to the river and the terraces below. There was a restaurant across the road so we could just walk to our evening meal. We could have happily stayed for longer than just our 2 night stay. There is a small swimming pool and my husband enjoyed his dips. The whole guest is very calm and peaceful and it was lovely to chat to the owner about the locale and things to do in the area. Everyone was very helpful and I highly recommend this place.

What a wonderful place to stay, delicious breakfast with bread just from oven, plenty of gardens and the house like museum from 1850. Our room number 1 for us, and number 3 for my kids was all that we wanted. We enjoyed a glass of good South African wine from the bar, with the breathtaking view. The only bad thing is that is so far away from our country to come more often
