The rules specifically states NO MUSIC of Foul language. I was camping and my next door camper switched on his mini hi-fi. The music was loud and he was under the influence of alcohol and was using foul language. The security was informed of the situation. In stead of attending to the problem they only drove by. We had to bear with the situation until after 9pm. The bathrooms both men and ladies were dirty. No soap was in the ladies bathroom to wash your hands as from Friday onwards. I will not visit thus resort again.

/ON 2021/06 at about 10:20 the morning, my wife, daughter and son in law went to tht office to book them in because the just arrived, in order to get their wrist bands and pay for their stay. After concluded our business, we drove back to our chalet. suddenly a small white bakkie pulled up in front of us very reckless like Flying Squad and a white male jumped out coming to my window yelling at me, " Waars die brand?"... I'm like excuse me, what's this all about? who are you? He replied, " Ek is siek van julle boesmanne wat die plek wil oorvat, jy jaag hier in die strate af fok jou" Then i saw the marking on the vehicle. ( Fire )... The man was a staff member of "OU SKIP". I drove 20km/ph. If i drove fast, i would have hit him. Besides, i had my granddaughter in the van. I'm driving a Landrover Discovery V8. it sounds loud. Maybe he just heard the sound of the engin and the turned into a untrained traffic cop, i dont know. The man had no uniform or any sort of identifiable attire which shows guests that he is an employee of the resort. The man called me a boesman in front of my family. I got out of my vehicle and and asked him what he said. Still he made racist remarks. How can a white man in this day and age make such racial remarks. The only reasonable explanation that comes to mind is that he is used to it. With no shame. As he walked away, he said, " JULLE FOKKEN BOESMANNE! EK SAL SORG DAT JULLE NOOIT WEER HIER KOM NIE! To me that sounds like he only wants white people there. It his own little farm. My family and i packed our things and left the place and made a Crimen Injuria case, and assault common against him at the cop shop.. Im taking my life savings to sue the resort. No white man is calling me a boesman. The staff at reception apologized, and handed me a complaint form. .

It was actually the box they packed my bicycle in 2 bring my mountain bike down here...i was told a bicycle could NEVER fit in there....what,s the word used in previous review...prejudice staff....and if u can,,nt sleep and walk around campsite at night after 10...all u r out to do is steal !! On the positive side...Tinus u r a great guy and i appreciate forgiving very harsh words being said to u...and Chris thx for your help last sunday ... Pity...this was the caravan park our parents brought us to 50 years ago when we were kids... But i do,nt think they need good reviews and more customers..

Ouskip – Melkbosstrand I am writing you this email to express my dissatisfaction with the way in which things are handled at the Ouskip Holiday Resort in Melkbosstrand. When we called to make reservations I spoke to Alta and she just spoke about reservations and rates. My partner eventually secured our booking on Monday 24th February 2020. We arrived at the resort and went to the office. We were briefed and for the first time are we told No Noise. Nothing on your website says no noise. But now we are being told we cannot make a noise. Which we were ok with. The lady mentioned no noise so many times it was really made clear. We signed many documents. While she was rattling off her rules I froze and didn’t say a word. Our friends and family eventually arrived and the security on duty handled there check in and that took more than a half an hour. While waiting on them to finish we saw many signs, No glasses, No roller skates, No noise, just so may no signs. We went and settled in and eventually started socializing. Later the evening security came and asked us to quiet down. Apparently someone put in a complaint as we were labelled for making a noise until 3am. When you say no noise… please explain to me how you measure noise. Where you as the management team there to hear the noise, or do you accept it as noise if whoever complains. As far as I know the later it gets the quieter it becomes, but having a normal conversation can sound like a noise. So are our normal conversations mistaken as a noise? Then the next thing that upset me as a camper was the pools close at 19H30. Why not at 21H00? Your websites say no parties but all weekend people were having little parties in the pool area. And clearly this parties were not held by people camping for the weekend. So the website also says Private pool…. I’m confused… This holiday resort has so many rules but there is one thing I didn’t see and that is a life guard on duty. Why not? So Saturday morning we went on with our business and Saturday evening went borrowed a braai grid to friends we met in the pool area. Round 22H00 we walked up the road to a big tent with many beds to go and fetch our braai grid. Upon our arrival we were invited in and just popped in to say hi. Victor a marshal as you call it walked toward us and said we must keep quiet. Excuse me? Keep quiet? So now we can’t talk? We questioned him about keeping quiet and he raised his voice telling us to keep quiet. At this point we trying to figure out what he means, can we not talk, and becomes aggressive and seems to want to enforce his authority when it isn’t needed. Without explaining properly his throwing around comments about removing you, and on the radio he goes requesting back up. Then he continues to exchange words and threatens to remove people and a falsely accuse people of making a noise who just walked there with me. He proceeds and says: “you think I’m black that’s why you don’t listen to me” and we stopped and asked him not to make it a racial thing. Your Security / Marshall team is out of line. This victor guy just upset me at this point. He was on a power trip and has absolutely no people skills… His approach was wrong as if he was talking to animals. We also were told by victor that we cannot walk around after 22h00. So I’m paying R1260 deposit included, thinking I’m coming to a Holiday Resort, upon arrival I get the whole speech about No’s and now I’m being told I can’t walk on the site after 22H00. This very Marshall told us we can’t walk on the site because it’s dangerous as the holiday resort was robbed the Monday evening before our camp. He said guys came in under the fence and robbed the campers. This not only leaving me angry but also feeling unsafe. Yet you boast about your electric fencing and safety. The Sunday we checked out at 10H00 and still decided to spend time at the pool… We went through the shop and the cashier there said she hopes we have bands to use the pool, we turned back and showed her the bands. My partner and a friend when to get a cooler box which was searched, came back into the pool facility. Then this cashier comes all the way to use from her shop and comes and askes who we are? Are we camping? Or what… we told he we did camp for the weekend just checked out and now just going to relax a bit before we leave. Oh and she asked if we waiting for our taxi? What the hell? This made me feel that we are been handled unfairly. A friend of ours was even locked in the toilet the Saturday evening. After this long explanation… I will never never never visit this resort again. And I will make sure to tell People about my experience at the Ouskip Holiday Resort. We spoke to the same women who checked us in on Sunday and told her about our experience, and her response was: “nou ja geniet julle dagie epos ons” Boom brushed off like nothing. No customer service at all.

I smell a rat ...in neither one of the 5 "well appointed ablutions" NO toilet paper(it gets issued by reception/security). NO soap to wash your hands after using the bathroom, ONE toilet brush in the bathroom passage for 5 toilets. 3 sanitary bins. NO sign to point our health rish that they use water from borehole OR the poluted Salt River for shower/wash basins / scullery area. Note in bathroom to demand 2 minute showers, however they are expanding thweir car wash? Contacted the Tourism Accommodation Grading Council seeing that they state they are accredited as a 3 Start resort ... And they are NOT. This propery is being leased by the municipality, Manager ... Why do you lie about your standard? Because you dont even meet the basic health requirements.

Visited the Camp site for the first time during the Dec 19 - Jan 20 holidays and stayed in the chalets, but was totally underwhelmed!! When settling our balance on the booking; we were advised that no cards are accepted only cash, yet a "white" person was allowed to settle a balance by card. We were advise that chalets can only accommodate 4 adults; yet when a party of 6 "white" visitors came they were allowed to stay in 1 chalet. This open racist behavior was rather disappointing! People of colour beware!! Will definitely not recommend!!

Visited this resort for 1st time in Dec19-Jan20. Stayed in chalets with family. Chalets were run down, very poorly maintained. Shower floors were scaly, baths filty & kitchen even worse. They promised a regular cleaning service when we checked in, but this did not happen during our 5day stay. Other than the outside garbage bin bag being replaced. Upon checkout 1 family member was informed that neighbours complained of noise disturbance, therefore they would not get their breakage deposit back. We were not informed of any complaints during our 5-day stay. Another family member was informed that a tv remote was lost & Ouskip employee swore she could not find it, hence we would not get the breakage deposit back. When we insisted to go back and inspect the chalet again, we found the remote hidden behind a chair, while we had left it on the table when we exited the chalet. This left a very bitter taste and memory for all of us and we will not be returning to this place anytime soon.

Very disappointed In the camp site. They should use accurate pictures. When we phoned to book we were told that they had only 4 spaces available 2 over the bridge and two sites in front of the bridge we requested to be close as possible for the kids to play at the park but we were stuck down in the sand by the residents all on our own. We counted under 10 taken sites. But they tell us theyfull!!!! We get given the rules as we came in What a Joke! The end of the year work functions had horrible loud music playing for hours from the chalets behind us. We walked past so many open camp sites 100% better than were they stuck us we lost count. And The fact that my kids and husband got chased then told when and where they were aloud to swim because there was people practicing laps in the pool. Will not recommend or go BACK STAY AWAY total waste of money.

A great campsite with chalets and safari tents. Good facilities. The ablutions were clean. It is a great place if you are traveling north as it not far from the highway and you have missed the heavy Cape Town traffic

We stay twice a year when down in CPT. This year we noticed quite a change. The star acredited caravan ablutions had SALT WATER to do your dishes, laundry and showering in. The hand soap dispenser were removed in all ablutions? During our almostc2 week stay our bin and braai was cleaned on day 4 only. All the staff seem to be working at the very bussy car wash or cleaning the permanent tents that mushroomed over the years. Cleaning the ablutions is to take a dirty cotten mop, dip it in a Pine Gel bucket and mopping the floor with it. Smells great but the floors have so much build up of grease. The black shower carpets are green with algae on the bottom. On weekends there are more than one car DJ competing with thwir music till 3am. In the passes, security would go and stop the music but now they dont. The Land Lord also stayes onsite but cant be bothered. Security very friendly and helpfull, so the office staff. Rather drop the star grading because you are a bad example to the other Private Owned ans managed caravan parks.
