We decided to get away and have some peace and quietness away from people. We could not have chosen a better place. It is about 6 km off the N2 on way to Rheenendal. The cabin is out of sight and you have to walk about 50m through the bush to reach it. It was very cold when we were there, but luckily there is a nice fire place and the owner provided us with enough wood for 2 days.
The bathroom have glass walls and you can overlook the mountains while showering. There is a bath on the balcony, believe me nobody will see you - totally secluded. The view from the balcony is priceless.

What a truly magical spot these 2 wooden cabins perched above the tree canopy in hidden areas of the hillside are in. (From our cabin we would never have known there was another property anywhere nearby, so well hidden are they) From arriving and meandering through the woods to reach Starry Forest, to leaving on a misty morning with clouds draped over the surrounding hills we couldn't have had a more enjoyable stay. After many nights staying in seaside locations we had wanted something totally different and Lazy Leopard didn't disappoint.
Attention to detail is complete, and we found everything we needed for our 3 night stay. The cabin is beautifully built, well-maintained and spotlessly clean. The bed and other furnishings were comfortable and the shower excellent. We had thought the outside bath would be just a gimic but we found we loved sitting in soapy bubbles soaking in the stunning view. Having a small gas hob was a real bonus, especially with load shedding power cuts.
However fabulous the cabin is, it's the view which is the star! We maybe didn't spend long enough just sitting and looking at the changing light morphing the view infront. Rarely have we felt so at one with nature.
We've certainly been lucky to stay in some fabulous spots on our Garden Route road trip but this spot will be hard to beat.

Had an epic three nights here - which is the right amount needed, two is too little - and enjoyed just lazing on the balcony all day. Trips out in the morning to Knysna and the beach were the perfect way to explore, with films and games and outdoor baths the ideal way to relax in the evening. Also love the pool!

My wife and I were looking for a affordable place to stay in the Garden Route for a mid-week break. Trying to find a place were we could switch off and enjoy the solitude and peace of nature, I am glad we did not look further that the Starry Forest Cabin!
After our warm welcome by Corlia, we settled into our cozy cabin. The view was absolutely breathtaking with the soft echos of the birds chirping down in the forest valley. Having coffee on the balcony and with the monkey as company was an extra. :)
As little as one needs for a break from hustle and bustle of the city, this little cabin has everything one needs.
Three days was not nearly long enough.
We will be back!

It will be hard to find the words to describe this incredible place. The only regret I have is we didn't stay longe. We stayed in Forest moon cottage which is a beautiful log cabin equipped with all one would need, the deck area extents into the forest with a bath tub to enjoy the surroundings and nature. The kitchen is equipped for cooking and a braai/barbecue incase you want to cook out doors. There is an old TV and DVD player which almost adds to the charm of the place. The cottage is so private you almost feel like you are the only ones on the property.
My husband and I travel internationally a few times a year and this gem has got to be one of the most unique places we have stayed. We cannot wait to be back.

Thank you Lazy Leopard for a night we will never forget.

Lazy Leopard was referred to my partner and I by close friends and what a magical place it is. On arrival we were welcomed warmly by Corlia and then settled into our private cabin nestled in the trees and overlooking the beautiful Knysna forest. The cabin had everything we could have asked for and was incredibly clean. We will definitely be back ❤️

We had such a fantastic and romantic getaway at the Lazy Leopard! We stayed in the "Starry Forest" bush hut, and it felt like we were living in a fairy tale. The hut is very well equipped with a queen sized bed, mini kitchen, bathroom, cozy fireplace, TV and a nearby swimming pool with stunning views over the valley. The cottage also offers a private balcony to enjoy sun downers. Knysna is one of the best towns to visit on the Garden Route offering fantastic restaurants with boats floating on the blue waters - truly one of the most romantic spots there is. Will definitely recommend to anyone looking for a unique experience and great value for money!

The MOST ROMANTIC PLACE I've ever been to!! We got champagne in our room and it was lit with loads of candles. It is completely isolated so you and your loved one can enjoy a lovely romantic time together. You have the most beautiful view of the forest from your room (the Forest Moon cottage) and you can relax in a lovely bath on the patio and no one can see in! I RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO EVERYONE!!!! 💞💖💝❤

My husband and I had a wonderful holiday in Knysna recently and we were lucky enough to stay in the Starry Forest cottage which was just beautiful. The views from the cottage overlooking the forest were just magical; it really is the perfect place to relax with a hammock and bbq outside on the deck. Only 10 minutes away from the beach and a short drive into the town we couldn't have asked for a better location. Thank you for making our stay so special.

Does the starry nights hut have a braai on the deck? :)
Answer from Leon S
Pretoria, South Africa42 contributions25 helpful votes
Hi. we stayed in that unit and it had a gas braai on the deck - no fires allowed at all. Since the gas braai is portable, it is best to check with the booking that the braai is made available to you if not permanently assigned to the unit.
