We had a wonderful and restful stay at this picturesque and tranquil B&B. Our hosts were very friendly, attentive and accommodating, and the breakfasts each morning were sublime. We will definitely be back next time we're in Knysna. Highly recommend!

Exceptional service received from Marion and Gavin. We would highly recommend The Waterfront Lodge in Knysna for your stay. Be it a long stay or just a stop over for a night. This was our second visit as a family and we will continue to support Gavin and Marion when ever we are passing through. We were greeted with a warm welcome and amazing hospitality. Our stay made us feel like we were actually at home. They were extremely helpful in assisting us with making our stay comfortable, by arranging a camp cot and high chair for our little one. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Everything was organized, clean and neat. The breakfast was filling and delicious. Thank you again for the beautiful experience. Warm regards Jeff, Michelle & Connor.

Marion was super helpful and welcoming, she couldn't do enough to help us make the most of our 2 night stay in Knysna. When she spotted my husband opening birthday cards on the patio outside our room (after he'd got up early on the morning of his 60th birthday to see the sun-rise over the lagoon at the end of the garden) she was disappointed that I'd not told her it was his birthday as she would have made a cake. As we had breakfast she and a couple of staff members came and sang Happy Birthday to him, sprinkled glittery greetings and gave him a box of chocolates. I think this just goes to show just one of the many ways that Marion goes above and beyond to make anyone's stay at the Waterfront Lodge fantastic. Beautiful rooms both in the public area and the bedrooms, a lovely setting on the edge of the lagoon and superb hosting - what more can anyone want?

A warm and informative welcome from Marion and a lovely room overlooking the lagoon with a nice balcony. Everything that you could possibly require is provided and there is a comfortable lounge with a well stocked honesty bar on the ground floor. Breakfast is first class and hosts Marin and Gavin are great. We can highly recommend.

We are touring South Africa from Jo'berg to Cape Town and found the Waterfronf Lodge where we stayed for four nights. Could not be faulted as we were welcomed by Marion & Gavin who could not do enough for us. Lovely luxurious place on the Knysna Lagoon and probably the best guesthouse we have ever stayed in. Don't miss it if you are travelling the Garden Route.

The name Waterfront Lodge is a perfect reflection of the wonderful gardens that lead down to Knysna Lagoon. Upon arrival and parking in one of the parking spaces, our host Gavin was right there to lead us inside to introduce us to our hostess, Marion. For the next 20 minutes, Marion gave us a detailed introduction to the Lodge, its facilities and routine and about attractions in the local area before introducing us to our suite. The suite was exquisite throughout and had a balcony that ‘wrapped around ‘ the end of the building, providing us with 2 seating areas, front and back of the Lodge and having superb views. The garden was an absolute delight, having a swimming pool (which my wife adored), a number of nicely situated sitting areas and it led seamlessly to Knysna Lagoon. An added bonus was the visits of feathered friends, like: Guinea Fowl, Sacred Ibis, Dikkops and Swallows. Breakfast was everything, anyone could wish for and Gavin’s poached eggs easily lived up to their legged. Our hosts, Gavin and Marion, were the most sociable, warm and caring people we have ever had the good fortune to have looking after us. If we were to choose a heaven on earth, it would be here. For many reasons, it is extremely unlikely that we will travel to South Africa again but if that were to change, without any doubt, we would come back to this most wonderful place. We cannot recommend it highly enough.

Welcomed with open arms by the most lovely couple to this spectacular venue. In their honeymoon suite for our honeymoon we couldn’t have wanted for more. We arrived and no power onsite due to storm and sub station issues but marianne and gav made it exciting and not an issue. We were welcomed with a lovely bottle of wine and advice on anything and everything going on in Knysna and local areas. For the two nights we spent at Waterfront Lodge we enjoyed the jacuzzi bath, awesome breakfasts and the wildlife in and out of the Lodge. Couldn’t recommended this place more and hope to come back again soon.

Location: This wonderful guest house / hotel is called Waterfront Lodge and this sums the location up perfectly, the wonderful gardens back onto Knysna Lagoon. It isn’t the easiest place to find, because its at the opposite end to the main Knysna Quays – but once you have found it, its simply fabulous. Check In: We parked up in one of the free parking spaces and then went to check in. Our hosts were lovely even though the lady (sorry I am bad with names) had a terrible cold and cough. They were super friendly, showed us up to our room and took time out to tell us about the local area and suggest things to do. Room: The room was lovely with a balcony which overlooked the gardens, which had a pool and sunbathing area. Inside the room was a comfortable bed, modern bathroom and tea and coffee facilities. Two very small criticisms of our room – throughout our stays in South Africa, we had premium cable tv channels, here we had a basic package. Also in our room the wifi signal wasn’t very strong, but I guess when you are in the middle of a stunning area, with views out to a gorgeous lagoon, this is forgivable. Our room did not have air conditioning but did have a very powerful ceiling fan. Service: Service throughout our stay was friendly and efficient. One morning we went out to our car to find it had been cleaned – what a lovely touch. Breakfast was plentiful and amazing with everything local, free range and well cooked Check Out: Check out was very warm and friendly and efficient too Summary: The best way to sum our stay up is to say that when we visit the region again, we would not want to stay anywhere else.

This house been transformed by the owners Marion and Gavin over the years. The accommodation is very comfortable and beautifully decorated. The location is quiet and easy to find. A short drive from Knysna centre. The views from the upper rooms over the bay are very pleasent as the local bird life the makes its way into the garden. Breakfast is comprehensive and everything you would expect of a top class place and all cooked food is done to order, so its fresh. There is plenty to do in the area, including a drive out to the Bay entrance East side some lovely photographs from here at both sea level and a viewing point high on the cliff looking inland across the Bay.
