My husband and I stayed her last May on our independent road trip through the beautiful Garden Route (We drove from Franschhoek to Port Elizabeth.) This is not an impersonal hotel. This is a beautiful and welcoming guest house. Because we were the only ones there they upgraded us to a magnificent room; however, we did look at the room we booked and it was lovely as well. The breakfasts are amazing and will keep you going most of the day. All the staff were wonderful and very helpful. Can't say enough about this quiet, well located, beautiful property and the people running it.

As a family group of seven, four of us on a very first visit to south africa, knysna seemed the ideal place to stay on the garden route. Mark and Adele, the owners of Kanonkop, along with Leisl, the manager made everyone so very welcome. The rooms are all very beautiful with amazing views of the knysna lagoon. Breakfasts were the most wonderful social time and nothing was too.much trouble for the kitchen staff. The pancakes are amazing, as is the french toast. It was very pleasing that everything is presented in the most covid secure way with no self service and cereal, yogurts, preserves etc all in individual glass jars. If you are planning a visit to knysna then kanonkop is the must-stay guest house where nothing is too much trouble, whether you're travelling as a large family group looking to relax together, or a couple looking for a romantic getaway venue. - PERFECT We will definitely be back. The Saywell family.

Dear Saywell Family What an amazing review, Thank You! We had a fabulous time hosting your stay with so many highlights, one of which was our stunning evening together in our new forest boma, making pizzas and drinking wine. I will also look forward to a rematch of golf when you return. Lots of love from all of us here at Kanonkop House Mark, Adele and Team

No words can describe how incredible our stay was with Mark and Adele. They treat you like family and the staff are so friendly. From start to finish their service was unbeatable and nothing is too much to ask. I wouldn’t bother looking for anywhere else to stay in Knysna!

We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful guest house, part of our 50th wedding anniversary celebrations. Lovely room with beautiful views over the Kaysna heads. Mark and his team were so welcoming and helpful with restaurant bookings, local trips, and Ricco even taught us how to use google off line maps which proved invaluable throughout our trip down to Cape Town. An ideal spot for visiting the local area and we are already looking for flights to SA for next winter and can't wait to revisit

We booked this place because of the good reviews and didn’t regret our decision at all. This place is magical and the view is stunning. We got a beautiful room with a lot of space and the breakfast was made with love. Our plan was to stay for 1 night but we couldn’t leave this house after such a short stay. Because the staff makes you feel like you’re a part of the family and arranged an other night, Golf at Simola , taxi, dinner and a plan for the next day for us. It was the best decision we made during our holidays and we will definitely come nach, but for longer!!!!

Having stayed in Cape Town and then Franschhoek for the first 8 nights of our hols we chose lovely Kynsna and the perfect Kanonkop to spend the next 5 days in and explore the area (before ending with a 4 day safari in Sabi Sands). It was a great decision! We were superbly looked after by Liesl, Gibson and the talented breakfast ladies, and loved every minute. Lovely big room and bathroom (Diamond) with that brilliant view, and super breakfast choices to set us up for the day (with lots of great suggestions of places to visit and super evening dinner recommendations). We also appreciated the bar :) We’d love to return!

We stayed at Kanonkop for 3 nights Whilst we played golf in the surrounding area. The room is large and spacious with an en suite bathroom that has magnificent views over the Knysna Lagoon. Wonderful changing scenes with the low and night tides. The breakfast is good and as the weather was kind it was served alfresco. The gardens are beautiful and the general assistant, Gibson, does an amazing job in and around the beautiful home. Use the local taxi service to take you to the various restaurants available in town. Sue and Chris Conyers will always be remembered in that home.
