A very nice and private house, with amazing view and everything you need is there. Enjoyed a message in the privacy of our house, and there is much to see in Knysna as we went for a boat trip aswell as driving to the heads, visiting some of the most beautiful gholfcourses. Breakfast was included and selection is very healthy and filling as there is enough choices to build your own breakfast. The well equipped bath is very romantic, the whole bathroom is setup for 2 poeple (2showers heads, 2 baisins and big enough bath)

If you are doing the Garden Route in South Africa then make sure you stop in Knysna (pronounce "nysna") and if you do then I would definitely recommend Elephant Hide Lodge for accomodation.
We stayed for 3 nights as it's a good base to get to other places along the route ie. 40 mins to Plettenberg, 90 mins to Tsitsikamma National Park and 40 mins to George.
A 5 minute drive to the main waterfront area where there are many restaurants serving quality food & drink.
We were welcomed and offered a drink on our arrival. Our room (lodge 2) was overlooking the lagoon and was very well presented and comfortable. So peaceful just to sit on the balcony and enjoy a glass of something from the well stocked mini-bar whilst looking out onto the lagoon and surrounding countryside.
Breakfast had a good choice and food was well presented and tasty. Swimming pool available but we didn't use it although it looked very inviting.
All staff were so friendly and we came down on the first morning to find our car being cleaned which was a very nice touch.
Thank you to all the staff we met and also all those we didn't meet. A small team of people that really go out of their way to make sure your stay is what you want it to be.
I would find it hard to criticize this place but if I had to make one it would be that the bed was very hard.
Would I stay again? Yes definitely.

The Elephant Hide Lodge has friendly, supportive staff and go the extra mile to accommodate your needs. Complimentary breakfasts and breath-taking views are offered in the common area lounge. The chalets are beautifully furnished, neat and clean. The Honeymoon suite in which we stayed has the most spectacular views and offers luxurious bathroom amenities. The location is ideal for those looking to be away from the hustle and bustle from city life and who wish to enjoy the tranquillity of nature. We have a wonderful visit and would highly recommend Elephant Hide Lodge to other couples.

We stayed here for 3 nights. The view over the lagoon was amazing! The cabins are very luxurious with great mattresses and excellent bed side lamps which is very rare nowadays. The bathroom also has an amazing view. The menu offers a great variety of delicious breakfast options. Ryan and his staff are extremely helpful and efficient. They helped us to book tables in restaurants and gave helpful tips for things to do in Knysna. Would love to come again one day!

This was a last minute romantic getaway. Staying at this Guest Lodge is an experience like no other. From the warm welcome to the heartfelt goodbye, this establishment ticks all the boxes. The private deck from our suite (Fynbos) has partial views of the Knysna Estuary and is equipped with table and chairs. The room is focused on detail which is much appreciated. The spa bath is a bonus!! Luxurious amenities and linens, stylish furnishings, top notch service and a beautiful view to compliment everything. Guests has access to the communal lodge lounge and deck with splendid views with a swimming pool to relax. We enjoyed a generous patter and wine at the pool area while enjoying the beautiful views. a Big thumbs up to Natalie and team for an excellent guest experience. I can most definitely recommend The Elephant Hide to other travelers looking for a romantic stay in Knysna

We had an amazing time at the lodge on our honeymoon. Very warm welcome by John and great service throughout by John and Fish. Great room with to die for views. Personal touches like those petals and champagne on arrival - it's the small things that make you remember places :)

We had three days to take in the view and unwind at this very friendly lodge. Our room was very well equipped with large and extremely comfortable beds (I am 6ft 5in). The view was wonderful and best breakfasts we have had so far on our trip. Highly recommended.

We stayed at 6 hotels / B&Bs while on honeymoon in South Africa and this was by far the best. We really liked the fact that none of the lodges faced each other so we could have total privacy and the views from the pool and our private decking area were amazing. All of the staff were so friendly and helpful and would always stop for a chat.

Elephant Hide treated us to the most incredible stay. We felt safe as all covid measures were adhered to by the staff and the cottage was immaculately cleaned.
The cottages are perfectly appointed and have the most beautiful views overlooking the lagoon! Breakfast was delivered to our door to ensure minimal staff interaction. We had the best stay!
