WOW! This hotel is just pure luxury! All of the staff are extremely professional, helpful and you always get amazing service with a smile.
The rooms are beautiful and very spacious and have stunning views over the resort! The food at the hotel restaurant is top class and the grounds are so peaceful, quiet and relaxing.
Me and my mum went for a massage in the spa and again the spa is defiantly worth a visit if you stay here.
The best thing to do in the afternoon is to relax next to the pool, theres a lovely wooden deck area overlooking Knysna, waiter service and the pool is fairly deep at 1.4m, which I felt was just deep enough for a hotel pool.
I originally just booked this hotel for my mum and her partner, and she asked if I would join them for a night. The thing that impressed me the most was when she asked at reception to extend her stay and book me in for the night they gave her a cheaper rate then any booking site would!
We all really enjoyed our stay here and would defiantly look to come back here in the future!

After a last minute deviation " opportunity " on our travel route was taken we had to get a place with our little yorkshire terrier and there was not many available on all the WAY TOO MANY travel advisor sites on the web and with so many of them falsely claiming that the accomodation they suggest is pet friendly untill you phone these accommodations which we did literally for hours . After successfully confirming that Pezula hotel is indeed pet friendly we arrived very late and was welcomed with open arms . The hotel entrance is as beautiful and stylish as you can find at only finest and best in Southern Africa . Arriving at night hides the actual beauty of this place.. we were thankfull for the WONDERFUL help received with all our heavy luggage onto the little electric vehicle that you must use to reach your SPECTACULAR room because you cannot drive closer to the rooms . The rooms are spacious and luxurious with special attention given to your little furry friend with their own special bed . As the sun rises over the mist covered valley the beauty of this place takes your breath away , as the mist slowly clears the golf course shows itself in al its renowned glory indeed a special place this is. The hotel is outstanding the food is great, the service fantastic, the issue of having to pay the cart to take you to your room because you have heavy baggage is a bit over the top, the baboons is a clear and real danger and will definitely take your pet if left unattended and anything else if you were to leave the doors open.

The Hotel was perfect! The Chef went out of his way to accommodate our diet!
There was a lovely children's play area! great amenities! Good Breakfast! Amazing Rooms!

However, I had two issues:

1. There were two dogs that the hotel has adopted, which is great, however, they were barking and chasing us away from reception. This is an issue for someone who is scared of dogs. It's a 5-star hotel that has dogs chasing guests away from reception. Even if you're not scared, it's not a pleasant experience, especially with an infant. This must be attended to.

2. The second snag which I have with the hotel is that despite being a 5-star hotel with a price tag, they are being petty by adding silly charges. For example, if you get a golf buggy to your room as some are a bit far and you can't drive around once inside the estate, the ride costs 20 rands each way. This is waved if its raining or dark. However, a 5-star hotel should not be charging for such things. They also wanted to charge 300 rands per night to have an infant in the room and provide a cot, which is against internationally recognised norms. Infants should not be charged!

First of all I would like to thank you for all the preparation put into my partners birthday, Best surprise ever😊😊😊 there are a few indivuals that made our stay memorable, Thank you Lee, Allister, Sunshine, Hastings, Zanele and everyone we forgot to mention.

However we felt that the dining experience felt short, our first dinner experience was just okay, nothing exceptional. Accommodation is gorgeous but felt short on cunilary experience, service staff needs more training, they were friendly but lacked in so many aspect, our stay was not what we expect, I actually had high expectation during our stay. We stayed there for 4 nights and I must say simple things were missed. We had room service for breakfast and waited an hour for the food only to see they brought the wrong order. Lunch service waited 1hr30min for a mere toasted sandwich, while sitting at the pool when the food came there was no cutlery or serviettes one had to ask. When at the pool, service is bad one has to wait so long to be attended until you go look for someone.

The staff could've been more attentive and treat all guests the same because we all paid to be here. Be more informitive on your excursions especially if guests are staying long. I would suggest housekeeping puts in room mist spray in the rooms and some liquid hand soap by Basin to make it easy to wash hands.
The service staff could do with some training service is very slow and they forget too easily. Some don't even know beverage offers on the winelist, Certain guests get pool towels but we requested and told us they in the laundry. Your beach excursion in my personal opinion don't sell it because our experience was terrible, no toilets there, no water offered for when you depart. Please can you create a do not disturb sign for the hydro bath at the spa, we had people coming in and out during our session.
I was so excited to come here but my experience was not a good one. I hope you take the above with a good attitude as this is merely our experience, wishing you all the best for the future.

Considering that Pezula has always been one of our favorite hotels in Knysna, we were very disappointed when we spent two nights there. The restaurant was closed but you could order from their deli to eat in the restaurant which makes absolutely no sense if social distancing was the issue, also the bar was fully operational. Breakfast was served in the “deli” which was basically a room with five tables and chairs and was served in boxes, the whole experience was awful and it felt like being in a school cafeteria. The service overall was dreadful and the rooms were not being serviced during guests stay - again due to COVID apparently, although SA is on level one and all the other hotels we stayed in were serviced. We had to repeatedly ask for water, coffee and clean towels for the rooms and having to make your own bed in a five star hotel is ridiculous. The final straw was that although our breakfast was included, they charged us for the black coffee and black tea which we had with breakfast!!

Dear TaniaDundi Since the reopening of our hotel in July, we have been operating on a curated basis and due to limit staff compliment and Covid precautions, we only offered guest a Deli-style self-service breakfast option. We have since opened the restaurant and now offer guest a light plated breakfast including coffee. As a team, we are working to bring back our full service offering and enhancing our guest services and facilities to complement their stay. We hope that you would visit Pezula Resort Hotel & Spa again in the future and find the hotel experience to your satisfaction. Kind Regards Pezula Resort Hotel & Spa

I feel very sorry for the hotel staff who are poorly trained, lacked hotel leadership support, were poorly communicated to from above and got screamed at, yelled at, complained to, lambasted by so many unhappy guests it actually became very embarrassing for everyone around. Unhappy about service, food, room maintenance etc. The staff did try but operations were a shambles.

Hotel suites really need an upgrade, food was generally very very bad to disguising bar the breakfast which was extremely limited. Service was painfully slow. CV19 spa rules not clearly communicated and contradictory information between printed rules and actual rules.

Will never go back and never recommend.

I recently purchased a very attractive special which included a two night stay, a braai pack, a game of golf at Pezula or a spa treatment. This was such a good deal, I bought two packages back to back. When I wished to book a game of golf at Pezula, I was told that the course was closed due to Hollow Tining.
I just can't understand how a package can be advertised which includes elements which are not available.
The second surprise was that on checking out, we were billed for a portion of the braai packs as the packs had a limited value of R100 each. No where in the information provided did it state that.
The suites are lovely and have great views. They need a bit of upgrading and maintenance however. Our kitchen draws and cupboards were sticky and did not open with ease. On top of that, our toilet was leaking. We complained but nothing was done, so we just lived with a wet floor for four days. The rooms were not serviced at all during our 4 day stay, so we ran out of some of the supplies like sugar and milk etc.
When we checked in, there was very little induction in terms of where things were. I only learned where the deli was by asking the gent who drove us to our room in the buggy. We found the Spa by wondering around in the rain for a bit.
Other than that, it was a very pleasant stay and the property was lovely, it just needs a bit of an upgrade/maintenance and management need to learn how to communicate effectively.

Dear Capesplendour Thank you for your feedback and we would like to apologise for the lack of communication from our reservations team regarding the closure of the course during your stay, as well as the value of your package booked. We are making sure that all staff communication is effective to our guests to avoid future complaints. Due to Covid precautions, we did not offer any services during your stay in September 2020, but this service, although housekeeping staff has also been reduced and service times might be effected, has been reinstated. We have also addressed the maintenance issues you mentioned in your Suite and can assure future guests that this has been resolved and that any issues can immediately be escalated to management. Kind Regards Pezula Resort Hotel & Spa

The rooms and views were the positive aspects of our stay.
We experienced the worst service ever at the restaurant. Besides the lack of choice, the waiting time to get food was too long and the service were generally not helpful and hospitable.
They charge an additional R70 to bring food to the rooms which is absolutely ridiculous. Their version of room service is ordering from your room and going to collect it unless you’re willing to pay the extra charge each time. We shall not be returning to this establishment as there are far better places which offer better services for the same price in Knysna. Definitely do not get value for money here.

My husband and I visited Pezula for a 3 night stay about a week ago. The resort is lovely and the room was spacious and had great amenities. However their service was really terrible. From cleaning the room very late, forgetting to stock up on items in the room to the total lack of communication or mis communication from staff. We spoke to 3 different staff members for example and each one gave us different information regarding usage of the spa. Even our check out was non existent as there was no staff on duty. This resort really needs to improve on service urgently.

Had a lovely week string in two bedroom villa over looking the golf course, beautiful views and serviced twice a day to a level beyond excellence, however , I felt the villa needed some upgrading and refreshing.

We used the spa and gym on more than one occasion, both excellent and staff very good.

My negative points were regarding the staff at the bar, we found them surly , unpleasant, on two occasions I had to interrupt a bar tender whilst they looked at their cell phone for service.
We were over charged, the service at lunch time was dreadful at one point we went indoors and picked up a menu ourselves.

Also I have a issue with two dogs running around the hotel foyer; this is a health and safety issue.
They could easily knock an elderly person of their feet.

Would certainly return , but feel my comments are constructive
