We booked accommodation at Parkes Manor for the weekend of the Knysna Forest Marathon and found that it really surpassed our expectations. The rooms are large and comfortable with beautiful views, and the attentive staff make you feel right at home. The weekend we were there was chilly, but there was a roaring fire downstairs and delicious cake to help yourself to and such was the atmosphere that you were comfortable converging and chatting with the other guests as we all came and went. . . . Dinner is by prior arrangement and so we ate out at one of the most recommended local eateries our first evening and stayed in the next. The verdict: We wished we had stayed in for both! As a family who love heritage homes and appreciate the personal touches - we really enjoyed our short stay!

Beautiful place and location. Room had a nice view, breakfast was very good and service is excellent. Staff very friendly. Few meters away from the Waterfront. However, to go to the centre in the evening you need a car or taxi. Taxi are cheap and safe.

We had a lovely 2 night stay at Parkes Manor. It's such a hidden gem. Thanks to JH and Jocelyn for the warm welcoming and always standing ready to assist with anything. Our room was spacious, tidy and clean. Will definitely be recommending the Manor and will be back for another visit.

We spent four nights at this gracious old house. A lot of B&Bs are equally spotless and offer similar facilities, but what made Parkes Manor outstanding for me, was the vegan savvy management and the excellent vegan breakfasts. Would definitely recommend.

we spent three nights at Park Manor in Knysna in November. It is a very nice residence from the twenties with noble guest rooms and lounges. The breakfast with buffet and additional menu left nothing to be desired. Especially nice is the garden with pool and the view of the bay. The service and care were excellent.

This hotel is located in an old mansion, and it felt like we were staying in a piece of living history. The period details were stunning! We stayed in one of the Suites with a Lagoon View and I can’t recommend it enough. Our room was on the second floor with a huge wraparound balcony (connecting to all the other rooms on the floor but with a small fence separating each) and a gorgeous view of the Knysna waterfront. In addition to a spacious room with a view, the bathroom was also amazing. The rain shower was by far the best of the trip, and I wish we’d had a chance to have a bath in the clawfoot tub. We loved wandering around the hotel and grounds, just taking everything in. At night, there is a little bar in a room off the hotel’s foyer and it was so cool to enjoy a drink while looking at old black and white photos of the family who used to live in the house. I also really enjoyed our breakfast, which is served in another gorgeous room with carved ceilings and an old fireplace, and which includes both a cold buffet and a made-to-order hot meal. The only slight con when it comes to this hotel is that it is located in more of a residential neighborhood. It is still only minutes from everything, but it does mean that you will need to drive to dinner rather than walk. Not a problem at all but just something I wanted to note!

Honestly can’t rate this place highly enough. We had a room on the first floor at the back of the property - it was huge, very comfortable and quiet. The fixturrs and fittings were plush and the little touches such as the fresh flower cuttings in the room upon arrival made it feel really special. The breakfast was delicious (recommend the pancakes) and we had some laundry done which was returned to us super quickly in half a day (albeit a sunny one!) The manager also went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and gave some great activity recommendations. Highly recommended!

We had the most amazing stay. The hotel is beautiful and erupt homely. The staff were brilliant and so helpful particularly Albert who recommended restaurants and places to visit. Our room was spacious and spotlessly clean and the breakfasts were exceptional. We enjoyed our stay so much that we extended it as it really was so good.
