What a perfect location for the 50th wedding celebration we booked. Immaculately clean , beautifully appointed , lots to do and beautiful views. Staff friendly and helpful while the catering was delicious in the Fire and Earth restaurant. Highly recommend...lots of activities included and something for everyone. Well done Team Blackwaters!

Colleen and I really enjoyed our time at Blackwaters River Lodge. Beautiful setting, quiet and peaceful and a lovely Restaurant alongside well maintained garden and river. A Mache golf course, canoeing, swimming and stand up boarding, what a treat. Exactly what we needed.

This resort is nestled in a beautiful valley on the river. The river is warm and great for kids and adults to swim and paddle. The birding is excellent with an abundance of raptors and forest specials on offer (even a chance of a finfoot). Families will love this place and the food is fantastic. I thoroughly recommend Blackwaters River Lodge.

A wonderful week of decompression and recharge after a lengthy lockdown. I can recommend Blackwaters River lodge for all that seek a break in the Garden Route. Blackwaters is conveniently close to Knysna just off the N2 and easy to find. Elmay and Paul with their team have rebuilt the lodge following the devastating fires to a high standard. This is complimented by the staff that make the stay very comfortable. The food and amenities are excellent. The Covid-19 protocols are effective without being imposing. For the serious birdwatcher this is a paradise that should be on your itinerary. Within a few hours of casual observation I counted at least 100 species that are attracted to the indigenous vegetation around the lodge and the pristine Goukamma river which is rated as one of the healthiest rivers in the Western Cape. The waters of the river are colored by the tannins from the forests that give it a mirror like blackness which is impressive. There is no shortage of outdoor activities on the mashie golf course, paddle boarding up the river where the bird life is even more impressive or down the river where one can paddle to the sea at Buffels Bay. I can recommend Blackwaters River Lodge and whish them well in regrowing after the fires and Covid lockdown.
