The wayside inn is a fantastic little bed and breakfast in the middle of town centre of Knysna. It serves adequate breakfast. The room was spacious and clean . The staff was friendly and helpful. The only thing that we would want improvement on is either fixing the ceiling fan or putting in air-conditioning into the room.

We were so happy that we found this place on Friday evening 12 Dec 2020. We had a bit of an emergency so it was very last min and also quite late already. Casper the friendly night manager checked us in and showed us to our room and he also explained to us that the Wayside inn was now also under new ownership.

We have stayed here quite some time ago when they were under previous management ( we found it to be a bit tired at that point)
But what a pleasant surprise this was !!! The new owner has completely redone the entire entrance hallway - its done tastefully and now gives this little hotel a warm, cozy yet very sophisticated feel

Our room was great and we found it to be everything we needed. We were also very happy to note that the noise that usually comes from the bar area across the parking lot was not as bad a usual - not sure how they got that right.

All in all it was great experience and we will definitely come and visit again
We wish the new owners and staff all of the best !!

What a pleasure to stay at this retro eye catching hidden gem. Whoever decorated the interior has a great sensibility and a quirky sense of humour. The only thing better than the comfortable amenities was the friendly personal attention from the staff. Breakfast was tasty and eggs totally as ordered. Thanks Cynthia 🙂😉

This was a vacation stay, my very first time in Knysna. The staff is so friendly, Melissa was accommodating and was efficient in making our stay comfortable. The rooms were clean and the hot showers were amazing. The supply of bottled water was much appreciated! I enjoyed my stay and will be back!

Melissa and her team are always welcoming and professional to our international visitors that overnight at the Wayside Inn. We are very grateful for the fantastic service offered by the friendly staff and the location is perfectly situated. And of course security and a night manager adds to the safety aspect.

Well worth it. Friendly helpful staff. Airy clean room. Firm comfortable bed. Great water pressure in shower. Quality complementary toiletries. Adequate well prepared breakfast to kick start the day. Reasonably priced and certainly worth it. Recommended.

Family of five in three rooms. Lovely pleasant hotel. No noise from pubs in location as suggested in other reviews. Loved the honesty bar. Rooms were quaint and well appointed. Lovely breakfast where we exchanged secret Santa gifts and the owner took our photo for her Facebook page. Would stay again.

We enjoyed the stay, the Receptionist and the Staff were incredibly warm and kind and helpful... Since we were new to Knysna the area looked a bit busy and unsafe at first. The wifi was not too Strong and the shower was tiny but overall stay was amazing. Great breakfast as well

I stayed at the Inn for 3 nights and had such a great experience. The room was big and clean, there was hot water for the shower, a big comfortable bed and free wifi. It was a nice and safe location for a solo traveler too. The breakfast was nice and there was some really good coffee and muffins which I loved. Most of all, the staff were so lovely. I mostly only interacted with two staff members. Daniel who works the night-shift, he is so kind and funny, and Melissa who is the manager. She's one of the nicest people I've met and really tried to make it the best stay for me. (Which it was) I recommended the wayside inn and I would without a doubt stay there again if I was back in Knysna.
