The hosts were really helpful with information both in regards the place or tourist sites and restaurants. They were giving their potential opinion of what to do, which was very nice.
The rooms we rented was really nice with great view of the bay. They were very clean and well equipped.
The area was really nice and located very well for our visits to different sites as shopping, nature walks, beach. However you cannot walk, you have to have a car
All in all a very pleasant and great stay

Tucked away within easy access of Knysna attractions is Panorama Lodge.

The hosts are very friendly and make you feel at home.

The rooms are well decorated and the bed is very comfortable.

They have beautiful views from the balcony and lounge area.

Definitely will enjoy a stay here.

Beautiful smiles that leave a lasting impression.

Thank you

We had an awesome time at the Lodge. Very relaxing. Tina and Dieter were very sweet and excellent hosts. The room was very clean and value for money. I loved my entire stay there and will recommend Panorama Lodge to anyone.

We stayed at Panorama Lodge for 3 nights. While it was a very nice house, there were a few things that would make me less likely to stay here in the future.

1. It was a very small room
2. Our hosts were nice, but not overly accommodating. We were quite jet lagged and woke up at 930 to find that breakfast was unavailable - there was no mention of this the day before that we had to be up at a specific time. Also we got quite sick while we were in Knysna, and our hosts weren't as helpful as we have experienced at other places.

Response from PanoramaLodge, Inhaber at Panorama Lodge
Responded 01 Mar 2016
Dear Hasan, we are sorry to read your review. 1. You booked our "small low budget room or perfect single-room". And yes, it is a small room, thats why the presciption mentioned this. It is a cheap room, but a nice one. 2. Breakfast is served between 8.00 and 9.30 am and we mention this, when we check our guests in. We are sorry, that you still had a jet lag, even after a couple of days already in CPT. You had breakfast every morning, maybe not with the whole variaty of the buffet, but we asked you and you were fine with it. 3. It is really a pitty, that not your wife wrote this review, as she really was pleased with the medication, we provided for you, which also helped. You grately took the medication with, which is fine with us. We ordered dinner for your wife and organized everything. She really thanked us for the service, we provided. We don't know, what you expect us more to do, when you have stomach problems. You as a doctor should know better what to do, than we know. Kind regards Tina and Dieter

This is just a medium-sized private house in a hillside housing estate, overlooking the bay at Knysna. There are many steps up to the entrance door, which may be a problem for people with walking disabilities. It is an unusual house, even the front door opens outwards towards the people arriving. There is a lounge area for guests, in which there is a small gift shop sales area, which is essentially the front living room of the house with nice views over the bay and the opposite hillside. Breakfast is either on the large dining room table in the lounge or out on the balcony.

The room that we had was small in comparison to other rooms we had for the same price in South Africa and on the Garden Route. The interior design is partly African style. The bathroom with shower is very compact. There was mould on the grouting between the tiles in the shower, otherwise everything was very clean. The twin bed was comfortable. There is also a small television available. There was a cooked breakfast and cold meats/cheese. Watch out for the rashers of bacon, they may be hiding under the cherry tomatoes. The owners are very friendly. This is a bed and breakfast residence for one night rather than for a longer stay.

There a waterfront area of restaurants and souvenir shops that is very touristy in Knysna. If however, you go to the main shopping street, there are some interesting shops/stalls and is it very busy. This main street has tourist spots as well, but feels a little bit more human. For a spectacular view out into the ocean, drive up to the Heads ocean front. The views are better than the Brenton-on-Sea side of the bay. The housing in both areas is interesting from a positive and negative architectural point of view.

The owners are most welcoming and can help you to plan your trip to the surrounding area and further. The downstairs familiy room is totally private and has its own entrance with a small terrace and a parking place. It is not in the city center so a car is necessary but the views and friendliness compensate this. We had a fantastic 3-night stay.

Stayed 2 nights in Panorma Lodge. The decor in the room was lovely, both the bedroom and the bathroom were spotless. Breakfast was lovely and plentiful and we enjoyed this on the veranda. Hosts were very friendly and very helpful with what to see and do in the area. Only point for consideration is a car is necessary so if you want to drink at night you would need to take a taxi. I would definitely recommend this guest house to anyone staying in Knysna.

We were a family group which consisted of five adults and four children. We were wonderfully received by our host. He told us everything worth knowing. The host Dieter was so lovely and welcoming! He gave us great tips of what to do Knysna and in the area and they were all spot on. The accomodation was very nice, our rooms were big and we enjoyed a great view from our balcony over Knysna lagoon. Definately recommended if you are looking for a quiet get-away spot. The breakfast was delicious and there was enough of everything.

The wooden room is on the outside of the main dwelling and bitterly cold. No aircon only a portable heater that dries out the air. Coffee and sugar was not fresh. Bedding, blankets not fresh smelled damp.
