Portland Manor was a perfect stop-over for our family on the way through Knysna. Debbie is such a welcoming and understanding host (especially when we arrived late due to our car breaking down) and her breakfasts were one of the highlights of our trip. The rooms are spacious and decorated in a fitting manner for the place - the whole feel the place takes one back a hundred+ years. If you have ever read any of Dalene Matthee's books on the Knysna area you will want to stay here.
Enjoyed our stay very much event though the weather was not great. Denis and Debbie were gracious hosts and catered to all our needs and comfort. Home cooked food, a roaring fire in a beautiful historic home with great company. What more could one ask for.
Beautiful old manor on a large area that was fun to walk around . Debbie was friendly and gave us some tips for our travels. Wonderful breakfasts. We traveled with our two older daughters so it was great to have the shared bathroom space all to ourselves.
location was lovely and the staff extremely friendly, however there should be more plug points in the rooms especially the jacuzzi room, you also need to put a bar fridge in the room. Also make sure that the dstv channels actually work especially for the bad weather days
Portland Manor is a very historical place. The country side beautiful. We enjoy the stay very much. Debbie is a wonderful host. Not all young people will find it interesting more for folks that enjoy country side trips
