Detailed Reviews
This is a superb place to stay.
Despite a small issue finding the entrance, once inside it is a haven of peace.
Beautifully furnished, and with exceptionally friendly staff we felt totally at home here!
On both nights the team booked excellent restaurants for us, and provided transport both ways so we could fully enjoy the evening without having to drive
I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel

Well worthy of its 5 star reviews. A welcome addition to the Hermanus Hotel scene. Excellent in all respects and a must for any traveller visiting the Hermanus area. There isn’t a thing that is wrong with this beautiful hotel. Superb bedrooms, fabulous surroundings, attention to detail everywhere you look! Great service from Mark and Rudi we were totally spoilt from arriving to departing. Perfect breakfast, the poached eggs were spot on!
If you have the chance to stay here you won’t be disappointed. The best boutique hotel I’ve stayed in! Top marks to the owners.

The guests at the hotel is extremely noisy. It is now 00.59 and they are still so loud!!
This is unacceptable in a quiet residential neighbourhood!
Beware when you book as this is often the case.
It seems there is no managerial control and guests are allowed to ‘take over’ whenever they want. This is a regular occurrence!

We were the only guests when we stayed in this small well-appointed hotel. Comfortable bed, complimentary mini bar and staff that could not do enough for you. With private gardens and pools - It was raining during our stay so we did not use these facilities but they looked good. The Gregoire is a five-minute walk along the cliff top to the town centre and they kindly transported us to and from a restaurant in the evening.

The Gregoire sets the benchmark for how boutique hotels should aspire to be. Understated, private and oozes personality. The rooms are simply exquisite, appointed with detail which you notice. The linen, rarely mentioned is divine and probably the best I've had the good pleasure to enjoy. Breezing through the spaces is art by a local artist which gives the place a sense of character, charm and true uniqueness.
The public areas are postcard perfect with two pools and an outlook to the blue ocean and jagged terrain which clouds over lush mountains of green as you morning backdrop. The ambiance is all about understated luxury and you really feel at the centre of it.
Service is unforced and attentive but overwhelming friendly. Nickolas and Joycelin are treasures and I can only compliment what others have also said about Cindy and Roelou. Enjoying an open fire, listening to the wood crackle with a good bottle of local red wine is my indulgence which I enjoyed immensely over the course of our stay. The 5 or 6 course breakfast is also a must. It's a truly memorable experience and one I wish I could wake up to everyday.
Unashamedly restful.

We chose the Gregoire while traveling round the Cape for our last two nights before returning home and it was a perfect ending to our trip. The hotel is beautiful with some fantastic artwork and wonderful grounds. We had a room with a garden and sea view which was so comfortable and relaxing that we wished we could have stayed longer. They even have a hotel dog called Jimmy Choo who is a perfect pet and we are not even dog owners. We had the best breakfasts of our holiday and they couldn't have looked after us better - even driving us to local restaurants that were a bit to far to walk and back again

Just returned to Scotland after spending 6 nights at the Gregoire as part of a 3 week trip to SA. I've travelled a great deal and stayed in some fantastic hotels but this has got to be one of the best. The staff from the moment we arrived were fantastic and Rudy looked after us like we were family for our entire stay. My wife asked for something for breakfast one morning which wasn't on the menu..no problem they just went out to a local bakers and got what she wanted. The room was s superb and the little extras like the turn down service made everything just a little bit more special. I couldn't recommend this place highly enough and if your lucky then you'll get to meet Jimmy Choo at the hotel like we did, he is a regular visitor.

Have just returned completely revived and relaxed after a wonderful 2 night stay at the delightful Gregoire Boutique Hotel & Spa! The staff were attentive and anticipated our every need. Beverages were offered whenever we ventured out onto the terrace or lounged at one of the pools. The temperature of the heated pool was discreetly turned up for a night time swim after we returned from dinner and our king bed had enjoyed a turn down.
The Gregoire, named for it's extensive collection of artist Gregoire Boonzaier's lino-cuts, is decorated with an eclectic mix of objects d'art and ornate furniture and mirrors marvelously blended with comfortable leather couches and Victorian touches. A welcome relief from the austere monochromatic minimalism repeated in countless uninspiring hotels worldwide.
After a comfortable night's sleep, breakfast was a treat of tart fruit salad (strawberries, gooseberries, papaya, raspberries and figs drizzled with granadilla pulp) served with a side helping of natural yogurt and a pot of crunchy muesli. Whilst the family all enjoyed a cooked breakfast afterwards I squirted fresh lemon onto my smoked salmon and avo served with triangles of rye bread. The family took themselves off to the beach and a run along the promenade and I luxuriated in an anti-aging facial. Whilst the rejuvenating face mask was penetrating the therapist pampered my feet with a massage. Pure bliss! Late afternoon saw us all take turns in the complimentary steam room, the staff having made us each a Himalayan salt exfoliating rasul to apply.
Dinner with the owners and fellow guests was a relaxed, convivial affair complimented with superb wines.
Another divine leisurely breakfast saw us loathe to depart and vowing to return.

Yes, its about a 10 minute walk to the Checkers shopping centre and restaurants and from there about another five to the Burgundy restaurant corner. You could walk it at night, but it is probably easier to take a car and park closer to your restaurant.
